Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

Thank you!
Laura

One Night, White Lies by Jessica Lemmon is a sexy and fun romance with one of my favorite tropes, the‘ best friends Sister. This makes her more than forbidden.

Reid and Drew have known each other for years but when Reid doesn't recognize her Drew knows its her one shot to get what she has always wanted. Yes you got that right one night with her brother's best friend.

The tug and pull between these two is a constant battle and either makes you want to love them or hate them. I never really decided how I truly felt.

You know those characters that you kind of want to hate but there’s something about them that also makes you want to give them a hug? That describes the hero in One Night While Lies perfectly. He’s anti-relationship and has given his friends hell for breaking the bachelor pact they made years ago, but one night at a conference with a woman he hasn’t been able to keep his eyes off has him wanting more than his usual one night and then he discovers her true identity which only complicates matters more. Author Jessica Lemmon had me captivated from the first chapter until the last word; One Night While Lies is romance perfection!

Reid Singleton thinks he has his whole life planned out; work he loves, friends who despite breaking their pact still mean the world to him, and willing women whenever he wants. While he rarely mixes business with pleasure he can’t resist the brown haired temptress while as a conference, but after a night of unbridled passion he realizes he’s just made a huge mistake, he’s slept with Drew Fleming, his friend’s much younger little sister. Okay, I know it sounds far-fetched that he wouldn’t recognize the woman as his friend’s younger sister, but they haven’t seen one another in 8 years and Drew lost 50 lbs and when from a shy teenager who colored her hair strange colors to a fit and fabulous woman and I loved the way he realized who she was because it meant that he did notice her as a teen he just tried not to because he didn’t want to be creepy.

Reid and Drew spent an entire weekend enjoying each other very much but agreed that it couldn’t go on beyond that weekend, but they are soon breaking that rule and yet keeping their no strings affair secret from those around them. These two were setting every surface on fire with their sexy times and yet falling deeper and deeper into relationship territory with each passing day. I will say that Drew’s brother actually took the news better than often happens in this troupe but there were other things going on to help him keep his temper in check.

Someone from Reid’s past comes back and throws him for a loop which has him making all kinds of mistakes, but he makes up for them and Drew really can’t deny him anything as she’s been head over heels for years.

Written with so much passion and emotion, yet some humor as well I loved One Night White Lies!

The Story in 4 Sentences or Less: After steamy night with a sexy woman reveals her to be none other than Drew Fleming, his best friend’s sister, Reid Singleton can’t decide whether to stay the heck away from her, or convince her to spend another night with him. Meanwhile Drew is determined to show Reid that she’s the one for him.

Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? Heat, humor, and angst fill the pages of One Night White Lies yet, in a short amount of time, the author still manages to give two people their happy ending.

For being kind of short, One Night White Lies packs a lot into it. Mistaken identity, a childhood crush, and one really big secret that either should have been left out completely or worked in better. All in all I wasn’t sold on this story.

The heroine was too much of a whiny woman-child. Don’t get me wrong, I liked that Drew was overcoming her insecurities about her looks but she put way too much importance on her past when making decisions about her future. Drew willingly made decisions that a more mature woman would have thought twice about, and when those decisions blew up in her face she wanted to point the finger at Reid when it was really obvious that SHE was the only one who was responsible for that bad decision. I felt that she needed more of a backbone, some pride, and definitely some maturity.

The hero was alright if you like the self punishing playboy type. It was a little overdone for my tastes and Reid’s reasons for avoiding a real relationship were flimsy at best. His secret, while traumatizing and painful, didn’t warrant all the hush hush treatment it was getting. I think Reid should have told his best friends, I mean if he wouldn’t trust them with a secret like that, or let his guard down to tell them, then I have doubts about the friendship. I liked Reid on the surface but I felt that he didn’t have all that much to offer as a character. There wasn’t much to him aside from his past and his playboy ways.

Click It or Skip It? Skip It. This author has way better books under her belt.

One of my favorite tropes above all others is the best friend's brother/brother's best friend and this book delivered that and then some.

Drew has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Reid since she first met him, but always knew she never stood a chance so when they unexpectedly end up at the same even and he's eyeing her without realizing who she is - she throws caution to the wind and gives in to one night of passion - Only that one night isn't enough and the truth comes out.

Reid has known almost all of his life that he doesn't want to get married. So much so he's had a pact with his friends as such but he's the last man standing so to speak. Reid finds himself experiencing different feelings after his encounter with Drew, but still thinks he knows what he wants. The problem is, Reid's past has left him with these feelings and he's bottled that past up and kept it to himself. But as he spends more time with Drew and opens up to her is there a chance he'd take a chance on love?

I really enjoyed the interactions between Drew and Reid during this story, from the start, it was clear they meant something to each other, though neither one could really name it up front. I liked that they could talk to one another, that there was a definite friendship among them but also clearly more.

I really enjoyed the twists this story took, and how they helped evolve the story and left me looking forward to knowing more. This story sucked me in from the start and took me on a journey of emotions along with the characters.

I received a copy of this book from netgalley but all thoughts and this review are mine.

Who is Drew? Who is Reid? How do they meet? Who are Gage, Christina, and Flynn? What happens at a convention in California? When Drew and Reid both make it back to their respective homes, what happens when Reid goes for coffee? Who is Tate Duncan? What does Reid say that scares Tate? What happens on Reid's birthday? Within 2 days of that, where is Reid? What happens? When he heads home, things get even more interesting, read and see what happens.

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me.

Best friend's baby sister is a trope I don't typically read but this one was superb.

Such conflict as their pasts as well as their current agreement gave ideal friction.

I loved the way it built up. Curious if the others in the group have their own stories and also can't wait to read Tate's story next month. As well as hoping Drew's best friend gets her story too.

Fun, sexy and emotional, Jessica Lemmon’s One Night, White Lies is a red-hot feel-good scorcher I devoured in a single sitting!

Drew Fleming has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Reid Singleton for as far back as she can remember. The sexy Brit is the full package: drop dead gorgeous, fiercely intelligent and with a body that would make an athlete weep. However, Reid has never given Drew a second look as she has always been his best friend’s dumpy little sister. A man who is used to women throwing themselves at him on a daily basis, Reid’s skills in the board room are as impressive as those in the bedroom and when at a tech conference he finds himself drawn to a sexy bombshell, giving into temptation proves to be inevitable. Only, the woman he is steaming up the sheets with is not a stranger, but his best friend’s sister all grown up…

Drew cannot remember a time when she wasn’t madly in love with Reid, but sadly the man of her dreams has never given her much attention. When she spots him on the dance floor at an event, she is as drawn to him as ever, however, she is flabbergasted when Reid doesn’t seem to recognize her. Having been given an excellent chance at a first impression with Reid, Drew finds herself giving into her desires and spending the night with her crush. Only, he still thinks that she is a stranger called Christina!

In the cold light of day, a furious Reid is incandescent with rage when he discovers Drew’s ruse – but not so angry that he can stop himself from kissing her senseless and going back for round two! As their feelings for one another intensify, will Drew and Reid realize that happiness can be within reach if they unshackle themselves from the obstacles keeping them apart? Or does their relationship simply have no hope of a future?

A fantastic summer sizzler best read with the air conditioner on and a glass of something chilled by your side, One Night, White Lies is a fun, flirty, feisty and sexy tale that is absolutely fantastic. An irresistible tale that sparkles with mischief, passion and intensity, One Night, White Lies features a gorgeous Brit hero you will love and a wonderful heroine you cannot help but cheer for. Sexy, funny and terrific from start to finish, One Night, White Lies should not be missed.

I mean, there are some things you just aren't supposed to do - ever, right? Like, be with your best friend's sister. But when you haven't seen her in years, and don't know who she is until after the sparks have started a fire - who can blame you for wanting more? At times I just wanted to strangle Reid but at others he made my heart melt. Drew is an amazing heroine, and I can't help but hope she ends up with Reid even if as a personal rule I wouldn't go for one of my brother's friends!

A fun and steamy best-friend's-little-sister story with a touch of mistaken identity and teenage crush thrown in for flavor!

I absolutely need to be reading more from Jessica Lemmon! Reid and Drew's book was so much fun to read--it was just fine that I hadn't read the first two books in the series yet (but they're on my TBR now!), and you'd better believe I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the next one--I'm not saying whose it is, though, because that would be a spoiler--just know that it's going to be so good!

My one complaint is that things were wrapped up a tad bit too quickly at the end--I would have liked to have seen Reid do a bit more groveling; despite the overhaul his life had undergone, he still could have handled things better there--but since the end result is they reached their HEA, it's hard to be too upset about it. I'm looking forward to seeing them together in the next book, being all cute and couple-y :)

Is it October yet? ;)

Reid is the last of his group of friends to hold out on a marriage pact they made together. One by one they fell but he's got a secret that none of them no. One that will hold him to that no marriage pact. Then his best friends sister knocks him on his butt. Drew has had a crush on Reid forever. When she runs into him at a event while she's filling in for her friend for he doesn't recognize her. She decides to let it play out and take her one night with Reid. Thinking that's all she's ever going to have she promises herself she'll confess to him in the morning. Except it turns out not to be just a one night thing. I loved this book. For a shorter book, around 225 pages it packs a wallop. Somehow the author tells a story that feels a whole lot longer than it actually is. I loved Reid. Poor guy is more beat up on the inside than even he thinks he is. Drew has her own insecurities and Reid good for her but Drew is everything Reid needs. In the end it left me wanting more. Thank goodness there's another book coming in this series.

Drew Fleming’s had a crush on Reid Singleton for years, since she was a chubby teen with pink and white dyed hair. Filling in for her roommate Christina at a convention, she comes across Reid and realizes that he doesn’t recognize her. After a night of passion, he recognizes her birthmark and confronts her. Even though he’s furious with her for not telling him who she was when he didn’t recognize her, he still wants more.
Reid has a dark secret that’s made him wary of family and relationships. He doesn’t want to get close to Drew, but he just can’t get her and her body out of his mind. They decide to keep their relationship (or lack thereof) secret from her family since her brother is one of his closest friends. Sneaking around has been pretty easy for both, but they can’t keep their minds from straying to the other.
I haven’t read the other books in this series before picking up One Night, White Lies, but Ms. Lemmon has done a wonderful job of making it easy to understand the overall story arch and give you clues as to the other couples in the story line. With great writing and wonderful characters, I breezed through this book in a matter of a couple of hours and was left wanting more. I’ll now have to check out the previous books in the series and wait impatiently for the next.

One Night, White Lies by Jessica Lemmon is the story of Drew Fleming and Reid Singleton.
Drew and Reid haven't seen each other in almost 10 years so Reid didn't recognize her. Drew has always had a crush on her brother's best friend Reid, so when he didn't recognize her she acted on it. But once he finds out he still can't stay away from her so they go into an agreement with a limit on their encounters. Reid has reason for not getting into a relationship by Drew is tarting to change that along with some new information.
Enjoyed their hot story.

This was such a delightful story and even though there are some sad parts, it's mostly very heartwarming with lots of humor. I just loved the main characters, Reid and Drew!

Their relationship starts off with him not recognizing her as his best friend's younger sister (they hadn't seen each other in 9 years) and after a night of the best sex ever, he finds out the truth. He can't resist her, though, and they continue their affair with the understanding that in a couple of months they will each go their own way. After all, he's not the marrying kind!

Drew has had a huge crush on him ever since she was a young teen and it doesn't take long for her to fall in love with him. Now how to convince him that they're perfect for each other!! Oh, and it's a good thing she has big boobs because he's quite the "boob man"!! lol I just loved their banter and had quite a few giggles at some of their conversations:)

Reid has had heartbreak in his life, though, and it's made him behave like a "wanker" at times...his word! lol His twin brother went missing on their 3rd birthday and now all these years later, he meets Tate in a coffee shop....his twin!!!

I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

It was so easy to fall in love with book. Drew and Reid's romance was fun, exciting, steamy and just a little bit cute. The chemistry between these two was intense and very spicy. For the most part I truly enjoyed the story but I will say that deception is not my favorite plot twist (even if it all works out in the end). Reid definately needed a push in the right direction to wake him up but Drew's "white lie" was still dishonorable and not the way to build a solid relationship.

I seriously gobbled this book up! Reid and Drew were explosive. Their chemistry was hot, and their relationship built from there. Drew gave him what-for a couple times, and it was awesome. Even the sad parts were good. I cannot wait to read the next one. Seriously intrigued!

Reid Singleton is the lone remaining member of his group of friends that's still living by the Bachelor Pact they made years ago. Reid has his own reasons for not ever wanting to settle down, and while they don't have anything to do with him being a player or afraid of commitment, he's never shared them with another person. Besides, keeping himself single makes it easy to pick up the stunning brunette he meets while away at a work conference.

Drew Fleming has had a crush on her brother's friend Reid for years. While she has changed over the years, she's still caught off guard when he doesn't recognize her. Wanting to live in her fantasy for a little while, Drew doesn't immediately tell Reid who she really is, but when it ends up coming out anyway, they both can't find a good reason to stop seeing each other, even besides the fact that his best friend is her older brother.

While they're busy exploring their attraction, a blast from Reid's past shows up and completely throws him off kilter. And, no, it's not what you're thinking at all.

While Jessica Lemmon has become a must-read author for me, and I feel like I've come to know her writings pretty well, I was gobsmacked with the twist she threw in on this one. And I'm even more frustrated because it's something I absolutely cannot talk about as it would completely ruin it. So if you're looking for spoilers, you won't find any here.

What I will say is that the twist felt almost out of left field though still plausible, but once introduced I wanted to explore it so badly. One Night, White Lies is a relatively short read and I was worried that there wouldn't be enough time devoted to really get in-depth with it, and while that's true to a certain extent, just know that the storyline will be picked up in the next book. So right away my expectations are high.

Where Reid and Drew are concerned. I felt like it didn't play out as the typical "best friend's little sister" trope as there's not too much conflict placed on the fact that Drew is, indeed, Reid's best friend's little sister. There's more emphasis placed on the idea that both Reid and Drew are pretty set on the idea that they're not interested in a long-term commitment. At least, that's what Drew keeps telling herself, and not that she is trying to conform to Reid's wants but more that she honestly wasn't looking for the attraction between them to turn into something more. I liked the easy exploration of something that starts out casual and seamlessly turns serious.

So, yeah, Jessica Lemmon continues to be one of my favorite authors. Definitely excited to read the next book in the series. One Night, White Lies reads really well on its own although I don't think anyone would be upset about having to go back and read the others because they're really good too!

I absolutely loved this series. Having plunged into the middle as is the norm I had to go back and buy the first book in the series so I could catch up on all the action. Reid is so determined not to fall in love and resist the trap that his two best friends and partners have fallen into even though it's getting a bit lonely.
Then he runs into this bombshell at a conference and can't wait to do the horizontal dance with her. As it turns out she's his friend's kid sister Drew whom he did not recognize. Since she's carried the torch for him from the beginning she's willing to keep her silence. What happens at a conference stays at the conference until it doesn't and soon they're continuing to see each other when back home and keeping it a secret from their friends and family.
Great characters, great romance, a lot of laugher and of course enough sexy times to keep you involved.

Sexy with a hint of intrigue! Forbidden passion exploded between Reid and Drew in the next book in The Bachelor Pact series. Reid made a pact to never fall in love with his two best friends Gage  and Flynn, and although those two saps have fallen under the spell of a couple of terrific ladies, he's determined to remain faithful enough to the vow for the three of them ... until he comes across Drew again. They were really adorable together. Sexy as all get out, but also since knowing each other in their youth, they knew more about each other from the start than the average couple and it made for a really open connection between the two of them. I would have liked to have seen a little more development to the ending, but overall it was an entertaining read added a lot to the series.

Drew Fleming knows who he is from across the room, and when she realizes he doesn't recognize her from all those years ago, she's determined to seduce him before he puts two and two together and calls a halt to their fun. After all, bro code doesn't allow you to put your hands on your best friend's sister!

Reid Singleton's mind was just blown with how good the sex was with the seductive goddess he just met at a trade show, but when he realizes her true identity, he's fit to be tied! Gage is going to kill him for getting it on with his sister ... but since the deed has already been done, why not continue the fun??
