I was excited to read Balance is BS because I am currently writing my masters thesis, and enormous tasks like this tend to consume me whole. I was hoping that Balance is BS would give me encouragement and much needed tips on how to juggle multiple things at once. However, this book turned out to be such a disappointment. The moment I started it, I knew. It was poorly written and I didn't like the author's style at all. As a whole it came across privilidged, annoying and quite unresearched.

Four important pieces of critisicm
1. The intended audience is way too specific. You'll probably like it if you are a woman who has children, you are straight, highly priviledged and also run your own (preferably investment-based) business.
2. The author is extremely priviledged. She comes across obnoxious off the page.
3. Her writing style needs a lot of work. It is jarring and repetitive.
4. This book is potentially anti-feminist regardless of its intended audience being women. The author makes patronising and condescending comments based on female stereotypes. Gringe-worthy.

This is such a refreshing read with a few messages that I needed to hear at this point in my life. Sometimes the pressure is on to be the best at everything and never let the smile crack or show that you are human. This book is the antidote to that. I haven't completed all the tools but I know that I am going to and that they are going to make a difference to me. I will update this review with a link once I have completed a few more of the tools and blogged about them. However I feel one blog post couldn't do this book justice. It really is a game changer (and possibly a life changer!).

Balance is BS is funny and honest about the stress we give ourselves about having it all. No one can have it all. This is a interesting book.

I love this, brutally honest, funny and inspiring, this shouldn’t be a read for women. It should be a read for everyone. We can’t have it all, we can’t have work life balance , it doesn’t exist, we just beat ourselves up ! Honest ideas to re-educate ourselves to reality and making a change for ourselves. Inspiring and uplifting

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
