I would recommend this book to people that enjoy DRAMA. That person is not me. I would have liked it a lot more if I was younger but at my age the high school drama became too much for me to take. It's definitely entertaining but I didn't enjoy it as much as others probably will.

You could not pay me enough money to go back to high school. Especially after reading this book. The drama, the emotions, ALLL the feelings, liking someone and them not like you back, being too scared to be with someone.. the list is endless & on top of that still be expected to maintain a good enough GPA to get you into college. Man, it’s no wonder I’m so neurotic in my mid-late twenties.

Gotta admit this book took me on a whirlwind rollercoaster of melodrama that at times I just couldn’t help but shake my head and wonder at the sanity of the characters. And when you find out the reason as to why the main characters couldn’t be together? Straight out of my sister’s telenovelas dramatic. 🤦🏼‍♀️ But! It did keep me entertained for a good two nights so gotta give it that at least.

I started this but had a hard time getting in to it. This book wasn't want I expected and I decided that I wouldn't continue at this time. I may try to pick it up again. The story just wasn't quite captivating for me.

I was given this free arc from netgalley.

I am 100%, completely, totally over Jeremiah.

After all, he’s the one who dumped me.

For my best friend.

Via text message.

2 days before Christmas.

So I did what any self-respecting head cheerleader would do: I started dating his teammate. Who’s great. Really.

But now Jeremiah keeps looking at me like he misses holding me just as much as I miss being in his arms. And we’ve been paired up for the most important history project of my entire life.

Can my heart survive this? Or should I hope for another shot with the only boy I’ve ever loved?

This was a willy but fun read. I enjoyed it.

ahaha, I adored Rebound Boyfriend by Daphne James Huff.
Whilst it is cliche & the characters could be slightly annoying! It is still a easy, fun read!
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute, quick YA read!

Usually I like books like these but I couldn’t get past the 2nd chapter. Didn’t like the writing style

This was alright. The plot was cute and I normally like this kind of story but this plot wasn't fantastic. The main character was trying to be forward and move on nicely but it seems a bit catty.
Overall it was a good read but not my favorite and I wouldn't reread.

So when requesting this book I had no clue this was the third book in a series. It was stated in the information, but somehow I missed it.

I must say, it was a superfast read, and something I could easily read during the train ride home from work. That being said, it was definitely one of those books that was just.. predictable. I knew what was going to happen, and even though that's often the way with these types of books, it keeps disappointing me. Especially since it doesn't have to be. I'd rather read a book that's a fast read but still surprises me.

A cute and short read. Book three in the Varsity GF series.

Sammi is the head cheerleader who has some secrets. She has been dumped by her boyfriend for her so called best friend (well now ex best friend) So her friend advises her to find a rebound. She finds one but can’t seem to get over her ex. An ex who also seems to have his own little secret to why he’s done things.

Overall a fun and light hearted read. Shows that communication is big.

I read and enjoy a lot of YA but really struggled with this. I didn't connect with the characters and found the storyline a little bit boring. Not my cup of tea.

This was such a cute fun read with emotional times that was very enjoyable. The book was full of everything real and i had times where i had issues coming back to real life. I found myself wanting to scream, cry, and breakdown along with Sammi and in the end im sure my smile was bigger than hers. You all need to pick up this series and be ready for a night of no sleep until you finish the last page.

After reading some of the reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. This author was spot on as far as emotions and angst.
High School is hard enough. Then when you add the pressures of parents breaking up, WOW! Not to mention the whole college thing, senior year as a whole and the pre-separation anxiety, and with Sammi, you have to add these jealous of the head cheerleader.
Now, she has at the same time her boyfriend Jeremiah breaking up with her two days before her birthday and Christmas. She has the two-week break to cry her eyes out but when she returns, he’s now dating your now ex-best friend who is also a cheerleader. And boy do they show PDA. LOUDLY!
The thing is as the days go by, Staci, her new well-meaning best-friend is having her purge and be angry and mean to Jeremiah which is so not her. Causing Jeremiah to flinch, don’t know what he expected. Anyway, she sees just as much longing in his eyes as she sees in her own. So, she is having problems letting go of her love for him.
Staci decides she needs a new guy his teammate that’s not going well for Jeremiah but especially, Sammi. See all the many things that seem to go wrong by following Staci’s advice instead of talking to Jeremiah.
This author nailed it I have a teen who just graduated at the end of this last May. Let me tell you this is like listening to some of the catty things happening when she was in school.

Rebound Boyfriend is the third book in the Varsity Girlfriends series by Daphne James Huff and can easily be read as a standalone. A young adult romance that is sure to sweep you off your feet and warm your heart. Each book in the series follows one of the starting five on the boys' basketball team and one of the girls in this high school as well. Each book starts with a short backstory of the previous books. Rebound Boyfriend is a fun young adult romance that I enjoyed reading.

Rebound Boyfriend by Daphne James Huff is the 3rd book in the Varsity Girlfriends young adult romance series, and an enjoyable book. This book is a cute love story. Sammi is head cheerleader, and her boyfriend brakes up with her two days before Christmas, by text message. To get back at him, Sammi starts dating his team mate for revenge. I love the people and situations in this book, and watching the characters grow. I found this book to be a quick read, and recommend it to all readers who enjoy a YA sweet romance.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

This was an amazingly fast read and easy to get through.
Sami, the protagonist was going through a. Lot and could be whiny at times but I could understand why she was acting the way she did and I ended up liking her quite a lot by the end of the novel.

Another character I liked was Staci- Sammi’s best friend. She was quite unique and I liked that. She made a lot of sense even though she hid behind her tarot cards. I would really love to see more of her!

It was easy to get through the book but there was nothing that I really couldn’t predict. I like being surprised but that didn’t happen. It was very cliché and it never strayed from there and so I couldn’t really enjoy the book fully. The book was really good but it could have definitely been better.

I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for the next book in the series and hoping that there is more character development and unpredictability!

**I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review**

Synopsis:
Sammi Parsons, head cheerleader and the hottest girl in school, used to have it all. But lately, everything is falling down around her ears. Her grades are failing, her parents have split, and to put the last nail in the coffin her boyfriend dumped her for her best friend. While she is trying so hard to put on a happy face and keep it all together, inside she is a wreck. The third book in the Varsity Girlfriends series.

My Thoughts:
I was afraid at first that I wasn’t going to like this but I was genuinely charmed by this book. Following Sammi through her daily life as she tries to keep her life from falling apart made me root for her. Yes, I definitely agree with some reviewers out there that at times the plot or the things Sammi thought made me want to roll my eyes. But I realized that it was part of Sammi’s personality as a teenager.

The plot aside, I adored the angst she dealt with when around Jeremiah, the boy who broke her heart. As much as I wanted to hate him alongside her new friend, Staci, I couldn’t. Perfectly adorable!

Would I Recommend:
I would recommend this, especially to those of high school age.

This book was a bit of silly fun. I much preferred the other books in the Varsity Girlfriends series but it wasn't a bad book. It was just silly.
A fun lighthearted read but could have made more use of the characters and developed them further - the cheerleaders were all basically the same person!

I feel like this story, perhaps, wasn't for me. I've read a lot of YA books and I think there are better stories out there at the moment. For someone just starting in YA books or for actually YA readers this book might be awesome.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All the opinions in this review are my own and are in no way influenced.

I liked the idea of this book and think it was good as a lighthearted read but overall just feel that there wasn't much to love about this book. The plot moves pretty slow, and the characters are kind of non-characters. Other than being cheerleaders, they don't really have personalities. I can see this being a great book for a lot of high schoolers who aren't as into reading, but for me it was kind of bland and didn't keep me interested.
