More erotica than romance, Unsuitable is well written and the story moves quickly, but will likely leave fans of romance unsatisfied. The book follows Jordan, a woman in her late thirties who married an older man for love when she was very young. Now a widower, Jordan is not sure she’s ready for a relationship, but her body is demanding that she have sex. When she encounters Clay, there is something familiar about him but her attraction demands that she act on her urges without asking questions. It’s only after they have sex that she realizes how she knows Clay, and the fallout from that leads the rest of the story.

I enjoyed this book...to a certain extent. The writing style is great, the words flow easily and the descriptions make the reader fully understand what’s going on. I was happy to see that it wasn’t the stereotypical “cougar” storyline; it was much more nuanced than that. That being said, there is a LOT of sex in this book, and I don’t think Jordan and Clay had an actual conversation about anything other than sex until at least halfway into the book. The romance in the book is almost nonexistent; if you think all that sex is leading to a HEA, you may or may not be happy with the conclusion of the book. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I appreciated the opportunity to try out a new author, and I may check out some of her books in the future because I enjoyed the writing style.

Cougar? MILF? Hot older woman, younger man romance? I think not. I honestly expected this to really blow me away but the overall story was just so bland. There was nothing intriguing about the storyline nor characters and by chapter eight, I was already done and over this. I appreciate the ARC but this did nothing for me.

An older women/younger man romance. Ms. Jordan Robinson, married an older man the first time. He had a daughter, Amelia. They were more like sisters than anything. Through Amelia, Jordan met Clay, when he was 17. Fast forward some years and they met up again, only she is widowed, and both are single. She doesn’t recognize him, like he does her. Only after a night of wild sex she recognizes him. Leaves and has to come to terms with the fact that she wants him, but she doesn’t like people gossiping about her. They both have to learn that love is worth anything, no matter the age, gossip, nothing. You also meet Veronica, Jordan’s best friend, she was interesting. And we get her story next, can’t wait! Amazing read, I enjoyed it.
