Unbroken
Loveless, Texas , Book .5

I Picked Up This Book Because: I like this author

The Characters:

Crew Lawton:
Della Deveaux

The Story:

This is a solid start to a new series set in small town Texas. Crew is awesome and drool worthy but not without his issues. Della maybe an ice princess to the rest of the world but she melts big time for Crew. The story did drag a bit in the middle but was overall good. I can’t wait to see where this series goes.

Unbroken is the start of Jay Crownover's newest series, Loveless Texas. Jay Crownover can write books about tattoo artists, she can write romantic suspense, and she can also write about cowboys. It's not very often I read cowboy romances, but I thought I'd give this one a try. It hooked me and I can't wait to get more from this family.

Crew Lawton is in a bit of a pickle. He's a rodeo star, but he's got himself into debt from his gambling and has to find a way to pay it back. This means helping Della Deveaux with her upscale men skincare line as the face of the company. Crew has never been this type of a model before, but he has the good looks and hopes he can pull it off. He's got a lot riding on this. Della does, too. Della helps her father run her family's company but never quite feels like she measures up. This campaign is just what she needs to prove herself.

Della and Crew butt heads at first. They couldn't be more different if they tried. Crew is a wild cowboy and Della is a classy New-Yorker. This unlikely pair has so much chemistry, they can't seem to stay away from one another. And when they are together, it's explosive.

This book was short, steamy, and suspensful. It kept my attention from start to finish and I read it in one sitting (it took me just over an hour). After reading Unbroken, I'm definitely excited to read more about the Lawton siblings. Crew's brother, Case (the town sheriff) book is next!!

This was my first book by this author, and I was intrigued, because of the cowboy on the front.

This was a quick read, good introduction into the coming up series.

Some parts felt a bit rushed, as it is probably to be expected with a novella.

Overall a lovely read. 3.5 stars

Unbroken kicks off Jay Crownover’s Loveless, Texas series and goes straight to the heart of matters from the very first page. There is no easing into the seedy underbelly of organised crime or the dire situation in which Crew Lawton finds himself; readers are thrown in head first! So I found myself wondering why I thought I was reading a Cowboy book. But the truth was quickly divulged, and the story progressed through a multitude of emotions, expectations and unfortunate circumstances. For my first read by this author, I was totally hooked and can’t wait for the next in the series.

Unbroken was a quick, enjoyable novella. Crew and Della are great together in this opposites attract story. I enjoyed this book.

Unbroken is the start to the Loveless, Texas series.
This novella was a sexy, suspenseful, and entertaining. I really enjoyed the writing style, the storyline, and the characters.

Plus it got me excited to read the rest of the books in the series.

I was so happy to start this series. Thanks to Netgalley for getting me approved to read it. I love Jay Crownovers work. This was an easy and quick read. For a novella it was actually longer than I expected. At the ending I still wanted more of them. Now in this one I think we needed a little bit more drama. Either with his manager or more with the family to make this book a 5 stars. Now Jay did not upset me with her writing. She has a way with words that make you feel like your living the story. That's how real it can be.

Such a great start to a new series. I love this author and enjoy reading all of her work. This was quick and easy read and kept you in your toes anxiously waiting to see what was going to happen. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Unbroken was a really fun way to begin a new series. Crew and Della were complete opposites and I liked what that effect that had on the story and their relationship. There were so many great little moments between them. I'm a little sad this was just a novella because I could have read an entire book about Crew and Della. Unbroken made me excited for what's to come in Loveless, Texas.

Unbroken, the first in a new serie by Jay Crownover.
this novella sets the groundwork, most off the time I don`t like
first books, often too much telling, but not this one I loved it.
I read everything by Jay Crownover ,and am a huge fan from her darker series.
Unbroken is not dark but also not a fluffy lovestory it has everything you come to expect.
from such a talented author.
I enjoyed Crew and Della, and looking forward to a full novell and the story of Case

I really enjoyed Jay Crownover's Rule, so I was excited to pick this up. However, I felt that although there was a definite physical attraction, there was almost no emotional connection.
Della's father trying to hand pick him for her was weird and I felt like it was this aloof stigma of a man suddenly changed. I would have asked him if he was dying.
All in all, it wasn't a bad book, but I honestly found more depth in the brief glimpse into the next novel than this one.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

When Jay first mentioned this new series I was so ready for it. This was something completely different from her. This novella was a great introduction into this new series. When Della first met Crew, I really did get tickled with how she kept sneezing. I totally understand this feeling because every time I go to the farm I’m constantly sneezing and sniffling. I really connected with Della from the start! I loved seeing Crew and Della together. I also liked that it didn’t take her long to stop judging him because he was a cowboy and not some stuffy business exec. Since it was a short read it didn’t take long for Crew and Della to fall in love. In true Crownover fashion there is some danger drama going on which makes the plot so much better and has you flipping the pages to see how everything is going to turn out.
There was a preview at the end for Case and Aspen’s story and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

I typically do not care for cowboy romances, however I love this author so I figured I'd give it a go. I am so glad I did! This book was fantastic and I'm convinced Jay Crownover could write me any type of hero and I would freaking love them. This book even deserves more than five stars, it's that good! Wow wow wow.

What can I say: I'm a big fan of Jay Crownover. Having read her Marked Men series (broody bad guys), Saints of Denver series (yep, no saints there...) and Welcome to the Point series (totally bad guys here), I was very surprised to see a new cowboy series from Jay. But, I'm in! And she doesn't disappoint. The story is a little less dark than her previous stories, but it was very good. We meet Crew, a cowboy with a gambling debt. In order to keep his family save, he has agreed to become the face of an expensive male skincare line. So when Della appears and tells him she owns him for the next few months, he agrees to cooperate.
Della didn't think the hotshot Crew would be so accommodating, since his reputation is one of a stubborn cowboy. Little does she know that Crew is desperate for the money to keep the bad guys away from his family. But she really needs the advertising with Crew to be a success to show her father she can take over the family business. So, both hell bent on making this a success, they didn't take their mutual attraction into consideration. When sparks fly, can they avoid that everything goes up in flames? Or can the sparks turn this endeavor into something grants? The novella is a good introduction into Crew's family. The next story will be about his brother, so hang on to your cowboy hat! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

It has been a while since I have read a Jay Crownover story - so many books, so little time yada yada yada.

Unbroken was a great way to get back into her world, ready for this new Loveless, Texas series.

I love an opposites attract story, and boy Crew and Della sure are different. I liked that Crew owns up to the sh!t he gets himself into. I liked that he knows what he is doing wrong and wants to change.

And the images I had in my head of him in some scenes... well, let's just say I was fanning myself.

This is a novella and the gateway to the Loveless series, so whilst we get to know our characters, we don't really get to know the characters like we would in a full blown novel, and things did feel a little hard and fast. But to me, that was to be expected.

I am looking forward to more of this series, coming soon I hope!

This got me so pumped for Loveless. Bring on the broken cowboys (and girls)! Crew is a sexy, rugged rider who got caught in some bad habits. Della is a proper city girl who thinks he needs to change everything to be the face of her brand. It's opposites attract in all the good ways, growing stronger together, and a little bit of suspense thrown in. We also get introduced to Crew's family, who I'm sure will be in future books. I'm ready for it all!

Although classified as a novella, I did feel like this story was complete. Crew is a rodeo star, who is under pressure by a bookie for not paying off his debt. When he meets Della, who wants to work with him on an advertising campaign, the sparks fly. A good story, and one that was hard to put down. Not sure why the bookie was so obsessed with him, but otherwise highly recommend this story and author.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher**

Jay Crownover is one of my go-to authors, so I'm thrilled to dive into her new Loveless, Texas series!

Crew Lawton may be a bronc rider, but he has gotten himself in hot water due to his gambling. He's trying to figure out how he's going to get himself out of his latest predicament when a beautiful woman shows up following his last ride of the year telling him he's the new face of her soon-to-be released male skincare line.

Della Deveaux is doing everything she can to make sure the launch of the skincare line for her family's business is a success. She's not impressed when she meets Crew for the first time, but what she knows is she is not going to let a cowboy ruin what could finally be the thing that proves to her father she's worthy of inheriting the company someday.

When Crew and Della begin working together and get to know a little more about one another, the sparks fly between them. They don't have much time together before Crew has to head out to pay his debts, but before he departs, Della overhears a conversation that devastates her. Will Crew be able to make things right with this woman who has come to mean a lot to him in such a short time?

Unbroken was a great way to set up the upcoming books in the series. I'm very excited to get to spend more time with the Lawton's as this series continues. I'm very intrigued to see how things continue to unfold in the town of Loveless!

I was excited to have an opportunity to start a new series with an author I've been wanting to try forever! And, ultimately it as a bit of a slow starter for me. Part of that problem is that novellas are not typically my thing. Things tend to move too quickly for me to really invest, and I felt that here. I also had trouble connecting to the characters. I just felt like I was on the outside looking in on this story and it never really drew me in.

What it did do, however, is what I suspect it was intended to do. It set me up for the series to come. It piqued my interest so that I want to know more about this family and their history and their future. It was a good introduction, and I did enjoy it, even if it didn't blow me away. I am definitely excited to see what comes next!

4.5 stars!

I noticed that the publisher had made this novella available to read without request on Netgalley, so I grabbed a copy and started reading it as soon as I could! I've read a few of this author's books and enjoyed them, so I was looking forward to this novella! After reading, I can say that I liked this novella a lot! It did take me a few chapters to get into, but once I did, I didn't want to put it down until I had finished it! This novella also only took me a few sittings to read and it was longer than I was expecting! The plot was fast paced and a lot more happened in it than I was expecting! There was also a bit of suspense in the plot too, which I wasn't a lot of and plenty of romance! I loved the romance and it allowed for a few seriously hot scenes between the two main characters! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Della was the main female character, and in this novella she was looking for someone to model her new clothing line! I liked Della a lot in this book! I did think that she was very focused on her work at the beginning, but she did open up more as the plot progressed and I learned why she worked so hard! Della's focus did change as her relationship with her love interest progressed and it was nice to see her happy! Crew was the main male character and love interest of Della! Crew had a successful career that had spiralled out of control because of gambling! This did make me feel sorry for him because he didn't want to gamble, but he was addicted to it! Crew was also such a sweetheart and I loved him! He was seriously hot too! It was easy to see how much he cared about his brother and sister and he was protective of Della as well! It was also easy to see his feelings for Della grow! I loved that this novella was written from both Della and Crew's point of views! I wasn't sure if it was going to be because it's a novella, but the synopsis does kind of give the impression that it's going to be! I'm really happy that it was written from dual point of view because it helped me connect and understand Della and Crew more and it allowed for a few more things to happen in the plot, especially as they did spend some time apart and were going through their own situations! I now can't wait to read the first full-length book in this series! I know that it releases in June, which isn't that long a wait at all, so I'm excited to read it once it releases! I know that it's going to focus on Crew's brother, but this has me even more excited to read it and I'll definitely be reading it shortly after it releases! The cover for this book is absolutely perfect for it! I love it a lot and it would definitely draw me to the book if I didn't already know the author's name! The cover model is also the perfect Crew! Big thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of Unbroken!
