I must say I haven’t read this author in quite a long time but I feel she has come a long way since the dreaming book series Marked Men. I wouldn’t even put them together if I didn’t know. Which is not a bad thing. She left her tattooed bad boys behind and decided to grab the reigns of the bronco riding bad boy. Crew is on top of the rodeo world until a bad year with a back alley broker takes control of his life and shifts his focus away from the rodeo which gives him a bad year and he loses everything. With a huge amount of money owed to a gang who threatened to come after his family at stake he jumps at the opportunity to help Della with her cosmetics line to be able to pay back the people bound to hunt him and his family down. I liked the banter between Della and Crew because it was fun , lively and it felt real. Crew may have put on Armani but he never let go of who he was truly. Della has been stuck behind her own self esteem telling her she isn’t good enough and she decides she will prove to herself and her father that her business idea is worth it. The book is a novella so its under 200 pages and you have to accept that there will be a bit of insta and a HEA with this author so with all that said I can’t wait to see what else happens in Loveless, Texas.

This one was ok for me. I had a really hard time liking Crew. He didn't really come of as a bad boy that could be redeemed, more a spoiled bad boy. Sure he managed to clean up his mess, but not before it came down on his family. I also didn't really feel the connection between Crew and Della, so wasn't really rooting for them in the romance area.

Let's just say that I expected one thing but got another with this. “Unbroken” by Jay Crownover wasn't as a interesting read as I thought it would be and everything just seems rushed and fast-paced. It wasn't engaging enough to peak my interest and the characters Della and Crew didn't have one ounce of chemistry. Nada and the fact that they ended up together still blows my mind. Sure opposites attract has always been a favorite of mine but this series didn't do the trope justice. Unfortunately this just wasn't my cup of tea.

Crew and Della's story was the perfect intro to this new series. Opposites attract, but sometimes they're not as different as they first seem. Loved their story and the world we're going to experience soon!

This novella was a fantastic introduction to Loveless, Texas and the Lawton family. Rodeo star Crew Lawton is not having a good season. Between that and owing a huge debt, things are not going well. Della is sure about the man her father got to be the face of her beauty campaign and from the season he's having she's having second thoughts. It's up to her to mold him into the perfect specimen for this campaign. But when the debts that are owed come calling, Crew has no choice but to can e it head on. I'm excited to read more about the characters in this series and can't wait for what's next.

This prequel to Jay Crownover's upcoming series 'Loveless, Texas' is a wonderful way to be introduced to a new author and a new series.

Unbroken has given an insight into the Lawton family dynamics and the character of the people we'll meet there.

Although a novella, the story of Crew and Della is still able to showcase this author's ability to weave an interesting story that will have readers coming back for more.

There is no doubt I'll be re-visiting Loveless, Texas in late June for the first official novel of the series.

Crew Lawton's time has run out on his gambling addiction. With his career in tatters and the money he still owes hanging over his head, when the perfect opportunity to make some quick cash (the legal way) is presented to him, Crew will do anything to make his new employer happy...

Della Deveaux has a lot to prove with her new men's line from her family company... and the completely wrong type of man signed on to be her spokesman. But she is determined to make him over in to what she needs... until she meets him and her campaign instincts have other plans...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unbroken is a fast and sexy, opposites attract story about a cowboy who has hit rock bottom and the woman who makes him want to finally be the type of man who could deserve someone like her.
Crew has a lot of issues about not being good enough and making bad decisions that affect more than just his own life. From being a rodeo star one minute to losing his endorsements the next, it isn't just his career that is in major trouble. Meeting Della, who is the complete opposite of every woman he has ever encountered at the rodeo, Crew is immediately attracted to this prim and proper woman... and he would love the opportunity to dirty her up a little...
Della has a lot riding on her campaign, and changing Crew into the perfect model is her number one priority... until she glimpses this charismatic man in his element. And the more time she spends with Crew, the harder it is for her not to fall for the sexy cowboy who knows how to treat a woman...
This was a great novella which introduces us to the upcoming Loveless, Texas series. I really enjoyed meeting the Lawton family and I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store! Crew and Della's opposite attract romance was red hot and fast paced, but also lacked some of the depth you would find in a full length novel. I didn't love Crew in the beginning, but I definitely saw some much needed growth in him by the end of the story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Super sexy arrogant rodeo star - check
Awesome, take no bull$h!t city girl - check
Sparks, chemistry, lots of sexy time -check
Basically. Loveless has it all (including the perfect book cover)! I was literally hooked from the get-go. As I’ve come to expect with Jay Crownover, we have awesome writing, interesting characters, and a wonderful story with a little bit of, suspense, for want of a word. Jay always manages to spin a little intrigue in and amongst the romance and super sexy times. Della is everything Crew isn’t, she’s smart, sophisticated and rich. Crew is rough around the edges, in debt and struggling to keep his head above water trying to fix his mistakes. It would appear though, that opposites really do attract, and together they are stronger and more able to face everything that they’re afraid of. A short introduction to the new Loveless, Texas series, which I have to say leaves me wanting for more of this dysfunctional family. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
NO SPOILERS!
Unbroken was a sexy, suspenseful, and entertaining standalone romance novella, as well as start to the Loveless, Texas series. I loved Jay Crownover’s writing style, and really enjoyed the storyline and characters.
Crew and Della’s story was fun and sexy with some suspense thrown in, and while I ultimately wanted more of them since Unbroken was only a novella, I enjoyed what I did read.
Unbroken was a great start to the Loveless, Texas series, and I’m looking forward to Crew’s brother, Case Lawton’s, story in Justified.
ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I greatly enjoyed this 'introduction' into this new world! Jay always does a great job of making you fall in love with her world and this one didn't disappoint. At all!
The reason I rated it with a 4 instead of a 5 is because I felt it started off kinda blah.... it took me a bit to actually get fully invested in the story of Crew and Della. but once I was in, I was hooked.
Such a sweet romance.
Overall, I recommend this one! I look forward to the next story in this series. :)
I really enjoyed Crew and Della's connection in Unbroken. They were the epitome of "opposites attract" which made it even more satisfying. When this rodeo tough guy agrees to be the "face" for Della's new cosmetics line, you knew he had to be in dire need of money. As this was a novella, things move pretty quickly so I'm not going to tell much more about the story itself. Suffice it to say, this novella not only gives us their story but sets the groundwork for this series. We get to meet Crew's other siblings and get more backstory on not just his family but a little about Della's too. In addition, at the end of Unbroken, they provide the prologue for the next book in the series which will be Crew's brother, Case's book. It sounds great, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this introduction to the Lawton family. Della and Crew were good together and showed that opposites can indeed work. Crew had got himself in to a bit of trouble and needed to do something he would not normally do to make some money. Crew was not Della's usual type but they hit it off straight away and felt comfortable together. Loved the Lawton's siblings dynamic and after reading the prologue to Case's book - I would love to dive right in, if only it was out!
Thanks to NetGalley for the copy.
This novella was a good series starter, it set the context and the family well for the series that is up and coming. UNBROKEN brought a cowboy, Crew out of his failing broncho-riding world and into New York for a makeover related to sponsorship deals. Della was the product lead and therefore responsible for his transformation. I liked their opposites dynamic.
As can be the case with novellas, the characters were sketched more briefly and their relationship developed quickly. They definitely had chemistry and the heat was written really well. Instalove was circumvented, I’m glad to say but I would have preferred a full novel for this couples story to really do it justice.
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.
Crew is just not impressed with city women, “I asked them where to go to get real New York style-pizza that would blow my mind, and they thought it was a joke. What kind of man jokes about pizza?” He sounded horrified and slightly disgusted." Im thinking I'm going to like this series, I love me some sexy cowboys.
Quick introduction to the Loveless, Texas series with Crew Lawton- the rodeo king- down on his luck in more ways than one. Pairing the ultra sophisticated Della Deveaux with Crew as partners in a business/skincare product line was unexpected and interesting. A tough and tumble man turns to his softer side.
The story was interesting but with a few issues I felt needed touched upon, mainly Marty.
This was a good lead in to the series with a hint of Case's story with Aspen which seems to be volatile from the start.
WOW! What a fantastic intro to Loveless, Texas. I'm loving that there is a family dynamic that each 3 siblings are completely different. Jay has a way with describing a scene and expressing feelings that makes me feel like I'm in a scene or character. I'm definitely going to be reading the rest of the series.
Spoiler alert!
I wonder why Crew didn't tell his bookie to hunt down his manager and get the money that was owed. Since it was one and a half times what he owed it should have been enough and then his problem would be over. I'm not big on books that have got holes in the plot right from the beginning. If it weren't for that I would have given, Unbroken, five stars. I really did enjoy this book and the beginning to this series.
I don't typically pick up books with cowboys on the cover, but what I've read from Jay Crownover in the past, I've enjoyed, so I decided to give this one a go. This was a great introduction to this new series and I enjoyed it. Crew has himself in quite a financial mess and things only get more complicated when Della comes into play. This is a deliciously sexy little novella and I enjoyed it. This might've been my first rodeo with a cowboy romance but I don't think it'll be my last.
Unbroken is a sweet and romantic novella about two damaged people who couldn’t be more opposite, but find themselves drawn to each other when their worlds collide. Crew is a rodeo star who gambled away his life savings, looking for the next rush of excitement. Della helps run a beauty empire, so focused on work that her life is passing her by. When Crew winds up modeling for Della’s company in order to pay off his debts, the sparks begin to fly.
Unbroken is a novella so there isn’t a ton of depth to the story, but I was surprised how much character development there was in such a short book. I really enjoyed both characters and would’ve loved a full length book, but the novella was a great read. The writing style drew me in and made the book fly by. Thank you, NetGalley, for introducing me to this author by providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am definitely curious to read about the rest of Crew’s family in future books.
This is Della and crew’s new book it is a novella but I definitely got the whole story. Crew is a rodeo king and Dela is a fashion make up and beauty products line personality and owner. LOL this book was hot it had a lot of angst and suspense and the ties with the mafia there was So good I just loved it there was action in it was just a great book I’m so excited for this new series! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me and thank you so much Jay for your wonderful words I can’t say enough about you as an author I absolutely love you LOL Jays book Rule was the first book I read when I got into this crazy book world and that book definitely got me hooked ! again thank you Jay for all you do!!
