This was my first experience reading a J.T. Ellison book and I enjoyed it. Good Girls Lie is a suspenseful story and a quick read. It is a well- structured, character-driven story with some twists, most of which you won’t see coming.
The beginning of the book is a little slow but I promise you that won’t last long — the pace picks up and never looks back. While it felt more like a YA book as it takes place in a high school, that did not detract from my enjoyment at all. There is suspense, murder, secret societies, intrigue, and lots of secrets! I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to give anything away. Read it - you will be glad you did!
Thank you to Harlequin - Mira and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I am a sucker for boarding school mysteries, so I definitely couldn't wait to read Good Girls Lie by JT Ellison. This one started out slow, I had to figure out characters, timelines, etc. After that the story takes off! It had a very creepy, menacing feel. I thought I had it figured out but I was so wrong. This book is different that the other JT Ellison books but not in a bad way. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For those of us who enjoy twisty suspense/thrillers, this one doesn't disappoint! It takes place at a fictional all girls boarding high school, the cream of the crop, most of the girls, Ivy-bound.

I received a free e-copy of Good Girls by J.T. Ellison from NetGalley for my honest review.
This book takes place at an elite all girls boarding school. The girls that are accepted her are demanded excellence. Ash, a new girl, arrives and she along with other girls have lots of secrets.
A murder, rituals and secret societies entangle this story. Although there are plot twists, I struggled connecting with the characters and found certain aspects of the book to be very unbelievable.
I think the story had a good premise, I just felt as though it was lacking in certain areas.

I love school stories. No idea why but possibly because I hated school! Very well written. Drew me in straight away with a murdered student hanging in front of the school. This is a book you’ll love!
4/5 on goodreads

Well....this book was really good. Had me hooked from start to finish with a well thought out storyline, a few great reveals and relatable fleshed out characters. Some of the reveals were predictable, however some were a delightful surprise. There was a small amount of confusion over who was who and whose story we were following towards the end, but I think that was more than likely my interpretation rather than an issue with the novel itself. I wouldn't say the story is the most original, but it was a very enjoyable read none the less.
If you are a fan of thrilling, well crafted and interesting novels, I highly recommend picking this up.

Not the usual I expect from JT and started off a bit slow, as well as a few slow parts. However the story still intertwined very well. Rich moody teenage girls in an all girl school, what could possibly go wrong? Drugs, secret societies, affairs, pregnancy and of course murder.

I received a copy of "Good Girls Lie" from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley! I am so glad to have gotten this book when I did. I was in a reading slump but when I started this one the slump ended! Even though I am 38 years old I always enjoy books set in a boarding school/college type environment. I think maybe some of the characters were a little over the top but Ive never been in that type of situation so maybe not? I did love the plot twist though. I didn't see it coming and I loved it!

It is a shame you can't give half stars here, but this book was 3 and a half stars for me.
The whole idea of this book is absolutely very interesting. Although you may think that it is a story like many others, it keeps surprising you along the way. I liked the way the book was narrated, it made for a interesting read. Some parts were very new and smart, while other parts were a bit predictable. The start of the book was a bit long for me to get through, it started out a little slow. But around half-way it became much more interesting to read.
In the end, it wasn't a book that kept me awake at night, but still it really was a very interesting story. I do think that with some little changes it could have been an amazing book. And I will absolutely keep my eye out for any other books by this author.

This book was incredible! I loved the setting, the characters...the storyline. It read easily and although it was confusing in some places I attribute that more to weird kindle formatting for the ARC. This book was excellent and I will be recommending it to all.

Generally, I love the books by JT Ellison. This time, however, after trying multiple times, I just had a horrible time getting into the story. I felt overwhelmed with too much dialogue. I'm sure it's all meant to set up the characters. There is too much insignificant information. This story was just not enough to hold my interest.
This book was gifted to me by NetGalley and the author in return for an honest review.

A fast paced, well plotted thriller! I have read a few books by Ellison and was excited when I heard about Good Girls Lie. It's probably not the most original story, but definitely engaging and a good read!

The book starts with a student found hanging on the gates of a private school. We then learn how this came to happen. Ash Carlisle is the new girl, a secretive Brit who doesn't quite fit in with the rich American girls. The school prides itself on its Honor Code to keep the girls in line but in this book money, power and secrets result in bullying and a handful of deaths. To what length will some of them go to keep their secrets?
There were some good twists and turns and the ending was unexpected and tied things up perfectly. I did find it to be a bit too descriptive and long but still an enjoyable read.
Thank you Netgalley and MIRA books for this ARC.

The author had me at the prologue hook, line and sinker.
There were a few twists and turns that i didn't see coming and I love being surprised in a book.
The wiring was flawless. Though some of the words were big money words that I had to look up.
I'm glad the author included the epilogue it added to the story. Can't wait to read more by this author. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. This was a solid thriller!

From the summary, I thought this book sounded amazing and I had such high hopes for it. I always appreciate book that keeps me guessing and trying to figure out what is going to happen next. This book delivers!
Ash is one of those characters that you can't help to want to more more about. The bits and pieces of clues and background were dropped in at such a rate that you were engaged the entire time. The twist was something I had not expected and I loved every moment of it. This was my first book by J.T. Ellison, but definitely not the last.

Wow, J.T. Ellison has hit another one out of the park with this book! The story line had some really interesting twists and the characters were so over the top but really interesting. Not your usual rich girl, smart girl, leader of the pack etc. This book would be a good read for young adults, as well as adult fiction. If you've read and enjoyed Ellison's other books you will like this one!

The type of book you don't want to put down till the very end. Great story since I couldn't figure out whodunit till the very end.

Although the whole background of this story is utterly strange to me, I've really enjoyed it. With 'strange' I mean the all-girls boarding school (we don't have them) and the way those rich girls are treated (as if they are more important than others). Not to mention the way those girls treat each other.
It is hard to write a review without spoilers for this book. I can tell you, however, that I liked the pace, the background stories and the way the author gives all characters their own definition. Not all mean girls are equally mean and not all good girls are equally good. I felt sorry for the dean (aside from her ridiculous first name) because she really tried, but failed in reaching her goal with the school. Early in the story it is obvious that there is more than meets the eye, but it is not so obvious that you can see all surprises in the story too soon.
Thanks to Netgalley for this digital review copy.

SO good! Full of surprises at every turn, even when I thought I had it figured out, this title kept me heavily engaged throughout! Really enjoyed the depth of characters and the ties of their relationships, and how it all played out in the story.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

J.T Ellison brings to us a slightly more grown up version of Pretty Little Liars. It's a quick mystery set in an all girls boarding school where a new student has arrived and questions begin to arise. Will all the secrets cloud the truth so much that a death never gets answers? Or will things begin to unravel and reveal the truth that nobody saw coming? This is a chilling and twisted tale of the boarding school of your nightmares, complete with the elitist school girl mentality you'll be glad you escaped.
