I was pleasantly surprised with this book, it was not what I expected.

And Then There Was You is about a woman, Marnie who thinks life is perfect until she finds out it's all been a lie. She learns unexpectedly that was adopted. Then to make matters worse, State Tropper Scott Randall is investigating a child-trafficking case which puts Marnie in the middle of it all.

Overall, I really enjoyed the storyline and the well-crafted characters Definitely looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an action-packed romance: wayward teens struggling to survive with neglectful or alcoholic parents, violence, abductions - you name it, this story has it. Decent writing style and interesting characters. I give this one a 3.65 out of 5, bumped up to a four because a 3 star rating would be too low. I've been trying to finish up all my Netgalley reviews and this one compares more favorably in comparison to some of the other ARCs still on my TBR list.

Marnie Edwards' mother is diagnosed with leukemia. When she goes to donate blood, she learns that she is not a match. Her father reluctantly tells her she was adopted 45 years ago when she was an infant.

State Trooper Scott Randall is investigating the possibility of a child trafficking ring in his county. One of Marnie's students is a pregnant teen who's being blackmailed into giving up her baby. "They" are threatening her two younger sisters with harm if she tells anyone, especially the police.

Ultimately Scott and Randal find themselves mutually attracted to each other, even as they work together to find who's responsible for the threats.

The child trafficking might even go back decades as no one knows who Marnie's birth mother is ... and why she abandoned her baby.

This is a well-written story full of romance, suspense, and a few twists and turns along the way. Not all is smooth - sailing for Scott and Randall. They each have issues and tossing a troubled teenage girl , as well as her boyfriend, into the mix only creates more suspense and angst. The characters are fully developed, and they all relate to each other beautifully.

Many thanks to the author / Wild Rose Press / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

A wonderful second visit to Harper’s Glen. When Marnie Edwards learns that her mother has leukemia, she thinks this is as bad as it can get. When her mother needs a blood transfusion, it reveals that she is not a match. Marnie is forty-five years old and just finds out that she was adopted. Marnie volunteers at a youth center and State Trooper Scott Randall questions her about a possible missing teen. During the search a question arises about missing babies, babies that may have been sold in a long running trafficking ring. From Marnie’s quest to learn more about her adoption, a missing teen who is pregnant and in fear for her baby and a possible trafficking operation, there are many facets to this story. Ms. Deane expertly weaves the story in such a way that you are totally aware and involved in each new twist. As they work together, Marnie and Scott soon realize that they have feelings for each other. We also visit with Kate and Jack from the first story and although it is not necessary to read the first book, I would suggest that you do so as it was a great story too. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

A thoroughly enjoyable book! A very realistic peak at some very complicated, yet authentically depicted, events in the characters lives. While the central character is Marnie, she has a well-written set of supporting characters that figure into her journey. All of the characters are realistic, make mistakes and go through their own process of growth. Ultimately, all of them must decide for themselves that family are the folks you choose for yourself - not just those biologically connected to you. As these major life events kick off, Marnie meets Scott, and they must work together to solve a 40-year old mystery while maneuvering their way through a series of personal, and relationship, challenges. A very good read!
