Doctor Grundy's Undies by Dawn McMillan was a fun read that had my grandson in stitches. Doctor Grundy has lost his undies. They were hung on the line and the wind blew them away, off on a journey. These were not just tighty whities, these had tiger stripes and tiger eyes on them which might be why they were so coveted by others along the way. The flying undies are seen by a pirate, a young boy flying in an airplane, and a Scotsman. They are ripped, sewn back together, had things added to them and worn by many. Will Doctor Grundy ever get his favorite undies back?

This silly story was fun to read and the illustrations by Ross Kinnaird are silly to go along with it. The text is done in rhyme which gave it a relatively easy to read aloud cadence. There was even a little bit of humour for adults about what is worn under a kilt. This was a fun read that I shared with a couple of giggling grandchildren. I know it is a hit when they ask me to read it again.

This book was one that had potty humor, which is very popular with kids. However, I read this with my son and he was not fan. Sorry. The story and illustrations seemed lacking. My son actually did not want to finish it.

All opinions are those of myself and my son. Received copy from NetGalley

This is an OK picture book but not a great picture book. I was excited about it based on the title, but the art is just so-so and I don't know that I would find this useful for a storytime. I am sure some first graders would find it amusing just based on the theme.

'Doctor Grundy's Undies' by Dawn McMillan with illustrations by Ross Kinnaird is a rhyming picture book about a pair of wandering underwear.

Doctor Grundy has lost his undies. The ones with the tiger stripes and tiger eyes. Wind has blown them off his laundry line and out on a journey. The flying undies are seen by a pirate, a young boy flying in an airplane, and a Scotsman. Will Doctor Grundy ever get his favorite undies back?

This silly story was fun to read and the illustrations are silly to go along with this. I think this would be a fun read aloud book for young children, sure to raise a few giggles at the ludicrous adventures of a pair of really loud underwear.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Dover Publications and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

I received this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. This picture book will be well loved for kids because it is about underwear, but this title was not my favorite. There are better underwear books for kids out there. It was okay, just not the best.

DOCTOR GRUNDY’S UNDIES: 3 OF 5 STARS

Doctor Grundy’s just finished washing his favorite pair of underwear, his new large ones with tiger stripes and tiger eyes. He puts them on the line to dry when the wind blows them off the line and into an adventure! Doctor Grundy’s undies get blown all over the world, meeting new people along the way.

I was very excited to be able to read and review this book. Doctor Grundy’s Undies is written and illustrated by the pair that brought us “I Need a New Butt!” The best children’s books, in my opinion, are filled with colorful pictures and a fun story, which this book definitely has. This is such a silly, fun book and I think kids will really enjoy the animated pictures and going on this adventure with this unusual pair of underwear. As an adult, however, I felt a little unsatisfied. The rhythm of the prose felt a little off at times. Which may sound a little silly, but was a nagging feeling none-the-less.

Regardless, this is definitely a story I will be reading to children over and over. Not my favorite book from this duo but fun and worth picking up.

An advanced review copy of this book was received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you #netgalley for a copy of #DoctorGrundysUndies to review. This was not my favorite book. I thought it was lacking in story. I would have preferred the undies to not have a face. I think the adventure that the undies went on did not need for the undies to be a character in order for it to make sense. The illustrations were cute.

The book was an attempt to cash in on potty humor, which is very popular with kids right now. However, the book just fell flat. The illustrations were good, but the story was a little lacking.

A very cute, light read. It will definitely make little ones laugh!
I had a hard time getting it to work on my Kindle so I had to download the file itself.
Will be adding the physical copy to my sons library when it's released.

Really cute and fun story to share with little ones. My son thought it was hilarious. It's not super easy to read aloud like some because the rhythm was stilted in places...just when you would get a groove going it would change up and you'd falter.

This is a cute rhyming story about a pair of pants. It’s written structure has a beautifully poetry to it, while the artwork is charming.

A slightly generous four.

A joyously silly book for the very young, as a pair of boxers fly around the world on currents of wind. They get stuck on some sailor's peg legs, they seemingly inspire a question in Scotland of a certain man called Donald, and they… well, that would be telling. It's light stuff, with the rhyming and rhythm found wanting at times, but visually it's very pleasing, with the trail of blue the clothes follow splodged across the page, and some appealingly curved text to convey their random adventures. Perhaps not one to last in the memory for all time, but pleasing nonetheless.
