This is a great thriller. A man with three wives known as Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - what more is there to say! The twists and turns will keep your head spinning! I totally didn’t see the ending coming!

Okay first of all, I owe Tarryn Fisher an apology.
I first discovered Tarryn because she is best friends with my favorite author, Colleen Hoover. They wrote a trilogy together, Never Never, and I liked it so much that I had to check Tarryn out. So I downloaded a trilogy of her books, but the first book did NOTHING for me. The main character was so unlikable that despite the fact that I paid for the trilogy I couldn't be bothered to get past book one.
So when I read the premise of The Wives I wanted to read it so badly but I was scared I would hate it.
I'm so glad I gave in.
This book is SO GOOD. I love a book that totally changes pace halfway through and has me racing through it because I have to know what the hell is going on. So is the case in The Wives, where I kept thinking I knew what was happening, only to be pretty shocked over and over again.
Tarryn, I'm really sorry I judged you. I am so happy I read this book. And I can't wait to dig into the rest of your books.
SO. GOOD.

The Wives is a tricky thriller and I had high hopes for it. In the first act of the book there was a transphobic comment that really upset me not only because it was said, but because it didn’t add anything to the story at all. The plot and ending were ridiculous, and not in a good way. The guy that all of these women are clamoring for is really crappy as a human being.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

OMG this book. I haven't read a thriller in a while that I enjoyed as much as Gone Girl AND didn't see the twist coming. It's hard to review without giving anything away and I really don't want to give any of the surprises away. I read this book in two days and couldn't put it down. If you were in a polygamist marriage but didn't know the other wives what would you do to find out the truth and when you find out the truth you're whole world is turned upside down? This is a must read for all thriller fans.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this novel. Thursday is a compelling character. The ending caught me off guard a bit.
I highly recommend this book.

The Wives is a clever and engaging mystery that held my attention from start to finish. The story was well plotted and though I didn't particularly connect to any of the characters, it made for quite an entertaining read!

Weeks after finishing this book and my mind is still f'd up! I mean seriously. The ending is what did me in....it came from left field and was totally unexpected. But of course, isn't that what we have come to expect from a Tarryn Fisher book anyway.
So, I'm not going to say much because....spoilers. But the first half of this book had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what the hell was going to happen. Then BAM!! Everything you thought to be true.....yeah, maybe not.....or were they. GAH!!!
Tarryn books are automatic go-to for me, so I really was not disappointed. You never know what you're gonna get with her books, and I love her for that!
I've been debating my rating......and I'm thinking because it is still hanging around in my mind (unlike some other books which I forget as soon as I move on), it's gotta be a 5 star read!

First I will preface, I am a BIG fan of Tarryn and I want her to win every time. I believe in her words and truly believe she was born to write. Her prose is defiant and there is a truth behind her method. With that said I was completely entranced by The Wives. The Wives was unlike anything I have read in suspense and I am a suspense reader. The plot was unique, engaging and the dynamic between the major players kept me on my toes. I was so PUMPED because this is the type of book you need…….however at a certain point “was” became the operative word. There was a turn of events that left me underwhelmed and I was honestly very sad about that. Thursday’s dribble became redundant and tiresome. The second half just wasn’t on the same level as the first half and I’m struggling with this because the first half was solid. Conflicted in my thoughts to say the least. I would still recommend because although I didn’t love the second half’s plot devices I still very much appreciated Tarryn’s written word. Based on the early reviews I seem to be in the minority as usual however those with a similar rating had the same conflicting issues as me. Overall 3 stars although a 3 star I would recommend.

She loves her husband, Seth, but she knows she’s not the only one. There’s Monday and Tuesday—Seth’s other two wives—but those aren’t their names, of course. When she married a polygamist, she had no idea what that life would be like. Every week, she gets a couple days with Seth, but the remainder of the week he’s in Portland with his other two wives. The wives she never knew the names of, the wives she never was interested in, until now...
In Seth’s pocket, she stumbles upon a receipt for a doctor’s office—the patient’s name is Hannah, who is surely one of Seth’s other wives. This leads her to obsess over Monday and Tuesday—who are they, what are they like. She must know the truth and her curiosity turns into an obsession.
What was she hoping to find? She isn’t sure, but what she discovers shocks her and she starts to question how well she truly knows the man she married. And will she come to regret shattering the perfect facade of her life, sending her world down a rabbit hole of destruction...
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher is a twisty, messed up, dark thriller that’ll have you questioning who you can trust and everything you thought you knew! Miss Fisher has done it again with this one—I loved the direction she went with this story. I went into it pretty much blind and I recommend you do too! I’m a sucker for unreliable characters full of secrets and this book delivered me plenty of both. Definitely grab yourself a copy when it comes out this December! 5/5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Graydon House and Tarryn Fisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited to read this and I'm so glad I got the chance. Although my expectations were low, I was actually surprised by how good this book. It had twists and turns I didn't see coming. I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not an experienced reader of psychological thrillers, so this book kept me wondering until the very last page. I almost don't know how to write about this because I don't want to give anything away. All I know is that I had a hard time putting this down, and YIKES!!!!

Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for a honest review.
Loved this book! The story flows the characters are fascinating and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.

Hmmm.. this book was interesting. It surprised me many times. I really enjoyed the first half but when I saw the turn it was taking, I was apprehensive. I definitely finished the story and the ending was good, just a bit weird. I enjoyed Fisher’s writing style.
I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

My expectations of The Wives wasn’t high. I thought it was going to be a typical psychological thriller. I should have known from the blurb that wasn’t the case. I loved the twisted journey that this book took me on!!
The plotline of The Wives was full of twists and turns. What I loved about this book was how the author cast doubt on all the main characters. I also liked how she did lightning-fast shifts in the plotline. It was amazing to read and kept my attention to the stories.
I loved Thursday, but I didn’t understand why she would stay in a relationship where she saw her husband once a week. I am not well versed in polygamous/polyamorous relationships, but that scream something was off to me. I loved her slow descent into insanity. There were scenes where I wanted to scream, “No, don’t!!”
I didn’t like Seth. He was responsible for what happened. But, at the same time, I felt terrible for him. He had a hellacious childhood and was scarred by that. He did try to help, but it was too little too late.
Regina was a mystery for the entire book. I couldn’t quite get a handle on her. She had an agenda and was going to carry it out. I do think that she got what she deserved in the end. How she got it, though, I didn’t agree with.
The mystery/thriller/suspense angle of the book was well written. I will say that this book played major mind games with me for the entire book!! Which, again, kept me glued to it. I needed to see what happened.
The end of the book was insane. I couldn’t believe the twists in the plot that were revealed. The major one shocked the heck out me. The other twist that involved Regina shocked me. Mainly because of what happened.

I began this book with a bit of hesitancy, as I wasn't sure I wanted to read about multiple wives and complicated relationships. If you are feeling the same way, I emphatically say, "Read this book!"
The story is told through the "Thursday" wife's POV, aptly named Thursday. I was immediately drawn into her strange relationship with her husband, Seth. As the other two wives (Monday & Tuesday) are introduced, the suspense, intrigue, and plot twists ramp up. The story definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and the ending did not disappoint! I highly recommend for fans of suspenseful, psychological thrillers!
Thank you to Tarryn Fisher, Graydon House Publishing, and NetGalley for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

As I turned the last page and took a moment to reflect on the journey I just took, I had to search for my adult words. I realized I felt deeply disturbed, highly unsettled, and overall icky. Yes, that's it, I felt icky! There are no likable or reliable characters here, although Thursday comes pretty close. You can feel for her and sypmathize - if not empathize - with her. I spent 75% of this book wondering what the hell was going on and who I could trust or believe. And I loved every moment of it. While I'm sure Tarryn Fisher is a lovely woman, if she were my bestie, I'd be side-eying her constantly, wondering what was going through her brain. Because to come up with the storylines she does...well, it just ain't right!!! I always know coming out of one of her books that I'm going to be gobsmacked (am I allowed to use that word if I'm not British???), awestruck, and exhausted. And this one does everything to live up to that expectation!

Quick background before things get started. I have read nearly everything (didn’t move past the first Never Never (if you know me you know I don’t generally do series/serials so that’s not a huge shocker) and the blurb for Folsom didn’t really appeal to me so I haven’t picked that one up yet). Buuuuut Tarryn Fisher is an author who makes me break my own rules and I have read past #1 in a series when it was her writing it and her stuff is all purple (or at least lavender) which frequently makes me get an eye twitch and yet somehow she gets a pass and on and on and on. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut (longer but that time) don’t mistake me for some rabid fangirl. My ratings regarding her stories run the gamut. However, I’m first in line to buy them and yes I said BUY meaning I let the moths out of the handbag whenever there’s a new release because somehow the library hasn’t realized I need instant gratification despite all of my fit throwing and I know even if I don’t like whatever the new release is, it will still be different from what nearly any other author I happen to be reading at the time has written.
All of the above was mentioned because this was the first advanced copy I have ever received of one of Fisher’s books and my reaction was pretty much like a bunch of schoolteachers getting a free car on the Oprah show. Not only because I’m an instant one-clicker when it comes to her stuff, but also because this story? Oh, it’s one of my most favorite guilty pleasure obsessions (along with hoarders). The difference this time???? Rather than sharing all their Big Love . . . . (See what I did there? Since it's about polygamy?) . . .
“He comes over on Thursday of every week. That’s my day. I’m Thursday.”
Yes please.
You see, there are a Monday and a Tuesday as well. They just don’t know each other. But when information is literally dropped into “Thursday’s” lap via a scrap of paper regarding a woman named Hannah, she can’t help but do a little investigating. And when Hannah exhibits the signs of an abused spouse, Thursday feels like she needs to dig a little further into all of her husband’s marriages – including her own.
Confession: I literally redecorated my deck in order to read this. I’d say it was just a coincidence, but I for real had this book for a week or two waiting on a break in the weather so I could take my coffee outside and just let Tarryn Fisher’s crazy take me wherever it wanted to go. And lemme tell you – I can’t (a/k/a won’t) spoil things, but right about the halfway part I was like . . . . I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.
If you pick this up and think it’s a bit of a slow roller, I advise you to hang in there. I was sucked in right from the start, but the second half is where this baby delivers. 4 Stars worth of crazy yumminess!

A woman’s husband has two other wives that she knows about but has never met. Thursday thinks she is fine with this arrangement and seeing her husband once a week. But after finding a scrap of paper in her husband’s pocket with the name of his other wife, Thursday begins her search to find out who this woman really is.
An entertaining read with an ending I wasn’t expecting. Thank you to #NetGalley and the Graydon House for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was great! I didn't know which wife to really latch on to. Having the spin on a polygamy family but very non traditional. He kept things the way he wanted, the wives were not allowed to meet. In fact they were in different cities. He split his week between the ladies and wife #2 had Thursday. I felt like I was in the story trying to help wife #2. The author really did a nice job at grabbing you in right away. I couldn't wait to finish the book.

This novel started out so well for me. I was hooked. Totally with the main character(Thursday) on learning who her husband’s other wives were. Then around the 50% mark, the plot took a twist for the worse. I no longer enjoyed it. I couldn’t trust Thursday and honestly stopped caring about her husband gaslighting her. 10/10 for the first half, 3/10 for the second.
