Wow. There was a LOT going on here. I definitely couldn’t wait to find out what happened, but it was all pretty weird and the ending seemed a bit rushed. Also I really didn’t care for Thursday or feel very bad for her. But the very end? That was quite a shock!

Brace yourself for a wild ride! This book was filled with so many plot twists and turns that you won't see coming, and honestly I'm still reeling even months later after finishing it. My poor co-workers had to put up with my crazy rants and outbursts while listening to the audiobook. Definitely a book that will mess with your head!

1.5 stars. I flew threw this, but yikes. This was BAD. Review to come.

Due to being a high school teacher, I have been falling behind on reviews. Here are my initial thoughts.

This book started out with get hope to be a very good book. It lost something in the middle. I love a good domestic thriller, but when you use mental health as the cause. Not so much. I will say it was a fast read, and had many twist. If you are new to thrillers you probably will like this book more than I did.

You will not want to put this one down once you start reading. I was hooked from the first page to the last and the ending completely blew my mind. This book is definitely worth the read.

Wow! What a ride.... so many twists, turns and surprises which I simply didn’t see coming!

This book has it all. From the very first page to the very last it will all shock you. You think you know what is happening and then suddenly something changes and you’re back to square one.

A story that will leave you questioning your thoughts, questioning your mind and wondering what the heck you’ve just read.

I almost feel I need to re-read this book immediately. The ending, for me, was brilliant!

Another super read from Tarryn Fisher. A psychological story with just a hint of romance, but quite honestly, nope... no romance at all!!

A must-read!

There were many elements of this book that I liked. The multiple wives were intriguing, the twist somewhat unexpected. Clever plot overall, and I was anxious to see how it played out.

That was about all I cared for. I found myself unable to care about any of the main characters, I couldn't even find it in me to love to hate them. I found myself skimming over repetitive passages, and awkward dialogue. I couldn't quite work through what day was what, when events were happening. Of course that may have been explained by the twist but I found it aggravating to have to plow through for half the book.

I almost put it down, but as I said I was curious about the ending. That did mostly satisfy me. I didn't feel I had wasted time, but I can't imagine myself recommending it either.

A compulsive story sending the reader down the rabbit hole. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect when I started this and I was pleasantly surprised. THE WIVES is fast-paced, sexy, and thrilling.

Holy cow!!! What did I just read? This was a true mind f***. It's been a while since I have truly fallen for an unreliable narrator. And boy did I ever. Fisher did an amazing job. I can't say enough about how much this book messed with me. I would find myself feeling off when I would stop reading. It was amazing. Thank you soooooo much, NetGalley for the eARC. I LOVED IT!!

Great book and well written. Tarryn Fisher grabs the reader right from the beginning of the book and when you start reading, you can't put this down. The Wives also has the right amount of detail that you don't have to follow all the little details. The plot twists and the development of the story keeps the reader on their toes to keep guessing!

Because of this book and Colleen Hoover’s “Verity,” psychological thrillers are all I have any interest in reading now. Tarryn has converted me from a die-hard paranormal romance fan to a “what the hell is happening” lover. Can’t wait for the next one!

This book! I have no words! That was one roller coaster of a ride! The ending left me questioning my own sanity and I’m still not even sure what to believe!

I had a hard time trying to determine whether I loved or hated the main character. Story line was about a husband who had 3 wives. The writer left it to the reader to decide whether the main character, Thursday, was sane or crazy. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the whole story changed. I loved that the plot takes place in Seattle and Portland, places that I know well. I would definitely like to read more by this writer.

Let me say thank you first to NetGalley, the publishing house, and the author for allowing me an ARC e-book in exchange for an honest review.
Good solid 4/5 stars!
Talk about a psychological thriller mixed with domestic drama. I like to relate to the main character in the books I read and see if I can solve the issue before it becomes clear what's happening. This one however, threw me for a loop. It was like living in the mind of someone with a serious mental disorder. You believe in what you "know" and what you "feel" just like the main character did - just like delusional patients do. It was a splendid book! I will definitely be looking for more from this author!

I liked this book a lot better until I got to the end. I think the author was trying to do something different and I guess that worked, but I kind of feel cheated. It's the unreliable narrator trope and after finishing the book, I'm still not sure what to believe. No character was likeable and the reader needs to suspend so much disbelief that it's a bit bizarre.

Thursday (yes, that's her name even though we don't know this until halfway through the book) tells the story in first person. She's married to Seth, but Seth also has two other "wives." He's not legally married to them, but they split the week where they each have two days with him and an alternating third day. They don't all live together and the wives don't know about each other. Sound odd? It gets stranger.

Thursday accidentally finds out the name of one of the other wives and tries to start a friendship with her. She then fears that this other wife is being abused and wonders what she doesn't know about her husband.

We only get Thursday's viewpoint of everything, which means it's filtered through her lens. By the end, we get much more information, but it's all very odd.

Also, Lauren? What happened to her?!

Thursday (our narrator) accidently discovers the name of one of her husband's wives and that sets off a chain of events no one could have predicted. The character of Thursday is definitely an unreliable narrator. I was never sure what I was reading was truthful. The Wives is a psychological thriller, its' pacing increases as the story unfolds. The twists and turns are plentiful, the suspense at times is palpable. The characters are interesting if not likeable. I appreciated that the twists werent telegraphed. I felt compelled to keep reading, which tells me the story was well plotted.
4.0 I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

A book about a woman who is married to a man with two other wives. She does not know them or really anyting about them except that they exist. Not really sure exactly how I feel about this book. It was great in the beginning and then went way off the rails. Second part of it was in some areas predictable and other parts just boring. Picked up a little again towards the very end. Overall, I did enjoy parts of the book and it was certainly a page turner. Definitely have some conflicted feelings and not quite sure what rating to give the book.

Tarryn Fisher. That’s all I need in order to buy a book. Her stories are always twisted and Unique.
The Wives pulls you in to a story of lying and make believe. Who is telling the truth? Who is lying? Who do I believe?
You never know who to root for in this twisted take of a wife who finds out her husband is married to multiple women. The journey to find the truth is exciting and fast pasted but a bit simpler in terms of Tarryns past books. I definitely recommend it though
