A special thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin/Graydon House for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Your husband has three wives and you are wife number two. You have never met the other women. Because of this arrangement, you see your husband only one day a week—you're the Thursday wife, the best wife. You convince yourself that this agreement works because you love him so much and he's worth it.

When you are doing his laundry, you find an appointment slip in his pocket for Hannah. She has to be one of the other wives. You can't help yourself, your curiosity gets the better of you and you manage to track her down. The two of you strike up a friendship, she is quite likeable even though she is young and naive.

Hannah shows up to one of your coffee dates with bruises and you know that these marks are because she is being abused by her husband—only he's your husband too. But he's never been violent with you, so why now? Do you even really know the man that you married? And who is his mysterious first wife?

Tarryn Fisher is a fantastic author who consistently surprises her readers with her vast style. This book is hypnotic and thrilling, but layered with an innate sadness.

I loved the clever play with the names of the wives based on the main character's name (which we don't find out until later on in the story). It hooked me right from the beginning and didn't let go until the very end.

The narrative lives in the head of the main character and she is incredibly unreliable—I mean there are unreliable narrators, and then there are the kind that Fisher writes. In this case though, it was a bit much because it weighs down the story in places with heavy passages that have little to no dialogue. Tarryn is a detailed and meticulous storyteller which is why some of the clichés surprised me. There were also some repetitious words that I hope will be addressed with the final edits.

All-in-all another banger from Tarryn Fisher. Can you believe she recently had a baby and has two books publishing this year? She's pretty incredible. You should also check her on social media—I love 'Tuesdays with Tarryn,' and her continued support of women.

4.5 stars! What a ride...

Oh, Tarryn Fisher, what I would give to spend a day inside your mind!

The Wives is unlike any Tarryn Fisher novel I've read before and still has that signature TF feeling! The feeling where you want to turn the pages to know what's coming (and stay up well past your bedtime to continue doing so). One husband, three wives. All know about each other, but none know each other or anything about the others!

The suspenseful ride of The Wives will take you on a thrill from start to finish!

Tarryn always seems to keep me guessing, yet I never see the ending coming. This is in my top 5 reads so far this year.

Thursday waits each week for Thursday, the day her husband Seth visits her in their condo in Seattle. She only gets one day a week because her husband has two other wives. None of his wives know much about the other two--just that they exist. One day Thursday finds a receipt in his pocket and learns the name of his newest wife, Heather, the one expecting a baby. What she finds out about Heather, about Seth, and about his other wife, Regina, sends her reeling and into a very dangerous situation where she can't trust anyone, not even herself.

This is a crazy thrill ride of a book. I could not put it down. Highly recommended for readers of psychological thrillers.

I love reading about polygamous marriages; they just really intrigue me! Fisher took this concept and made you sympathetic towards the wives and how they must feel on the days when the husband is not with them. I could never understand how a wife could not be jealous of another wife, but I guess that's why I could never do it.

I don't want to give anything about the book away, so I'll just say that this is a fantastic thriller with a new concept; not what we're used to seeing! Enjoy it!

Thanks to Net Galley for the chance to read this book and review it.

This is not your grandmother's Harlequin's romance to be sure. You think you are reading a story about the multiple wives in a polygamist marriage, only to see that perspective shift as you learn more about the sister wives in this very dysfunctional relationship. There are some scenes of abuse that are not for everyone (and I didn't like reading them, to be sure), and some very odd plot twists that I won't get into here but that make the story interesting and thoughtful by the time you finish. Overall I would say that I liked the book, in spite of the things that I mentioned here. But it isn't for everyone.

Well holy crap that was really twisted. This is my first book from Fisher and if like to read more from her. This is an interesting book with a compelling characters and plot.

This is one of those books where you think you have the answers and then the brilliant twist knocks you over with the truth. Original, chilling, and scary plausible.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be the last! I was very intrigued by the description and I was hooked right from the beginning. I could not imagine my husband having two other wives and loving him so much to go along with it. I found this to be a real page turner that I just couldn’t put down. I needed to see what made this main character tick. This was dark and twisty and highly recommended. I had the pleasure of meeting her at Book Expo this year and I am looking forward to her next book. #thewives #tarrynfisher #netgalley

Wow.... this was a page turner. Seth has three wives, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. But, this is not your typical sister wife situation. Each wife doesn’t know the other. Not the typical polygamist family but it is working for our narrator, Thursday. Then, Thursday has found out the other wives’ identities and discovers things aren’t always what they seem.

Imagine that your husband has two other wives that you agreed to. You have never met them but you know all about them. You are the Thursday wife. Every Thursday you are the perfect wife, you never nag or complain, and dinner is always perfect. Your husband is sure to love you best of all!

Then one day you find a scrap of paper that tells you the name of the Monday wife. You know she is pregnant but you never knew her name until now. You agreed that you all would remain anonymous. Do you track her down, maybe even start a friendship with her. What should you do when Monday starts showing up with tell-tale bruises?

Exactly who is your husband and how far are you willing to go to protect the other wives and yourself? And who is the third wife?

Seems like a straightforward premise, but it isn’t. It is so much more than what you see on the surface. It is masterly woven together and as soon as you think you have figured it all out… bamm… it is completely different than you thought. This is a wild ride and I loved every minute!

I finished this book almost a week ago and I'm still trying to determine what I read. Tarryn Fisher has the ability to leave you confused, beaten and bruised and craving more at the end of her books. I felt like I just finished a marathon and I'm still ready for another sprint. The Wives was twisted, dark and a total mind contorting book that told a story that left me confused on who I should believe. I felt as if I was going crazy with the character. I loved this book and I'm thrilled to see Tarryn work with a publisher on this one. Excited to see what the future holds. This will be one book that I recommend as soon as it hits stores!

I am having a difficult time reviewing this title without giving away endings and plot twists. I will say that Tarryn Fisher had the premise and the set up for a great read, but this book didn't make it there. This is an admittedly personal peeve of mine, but the fact is that it helped to make me dislike the book and is part of the reason that I will not be recommending it to anyone: there were far too many instances of terms like "unborn baby," and then references to the "unborn baby" dying or being dead. I would have been less irritated by it had the thoughts been only from the woman who experienced the miscarriage, but when those words seemingly are attributed to a medical professional, I am done.

Without giving the ending away, it felt sloppy. I love suspense novels, but I kept finding myself thinking, "Please just end this already" long before I read the ending, which was just weak. I am a fan of twists and turns and "Wow, I didn't see that coming!" This ending, however, seemed more like someone wrote one book and then took another book's ending and slapped it down just to be finished.

This was my first time reading this author and if this book is indicative of her writing, I suspect it may well be my last time reading her work. With that said, I do very much appreciate being provided an ARC by NetGalley and the publisher and I wish that my review could be more positive, but this is an honest review.

Have you ever finished a book and then wanted to start it again immediately? I have read very few books that I would start over right away. This book kept me so drawn in and I was scared I would miss something. The writing of this book is incredible. This book was brilliant. Can you tell I liked it? I preordered 3 for some family members and I cannot wait for them to read it so we can discuss it. I also put it on my book club to read list so that everyone can read it. Thank you!!

Thanks NetGalley and Graydon house for a preview of this book in exchange for a review.
Seth has three wives, referred to as Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The narrator, Thursday, doesn’t mind because he’s such a catch. She also has a career as a nurse. Then one day she finds a note with a name and date on it in one of Seth’s pockets. That sparks her curiosity and propels the plot at breakneck speed.

That’s all I can reveal because anything else would give away too much – spoiler city.

I’d not read Fisher before, but now I plan to delve into all her past titles. Something very scintillating goes on in that mind of hers. I raced through this book in two days and would highly recommend it to any thriller aficionada. It’s haunting, at times terrifying, but in the end a true thought-provoker.

Thursday is Seth's wife, but so are Monday and Tuesday. Thursday has never met the other two, and is fine with this arrangement. At least she thinks she is, until she finds a note in Seth's pocket about an appointment with Hannah, one of his other wives. Thursday becomes curious, and seeks Hannah out. She discovers that Hannah's husband leaves bruises on her, but Seth has never done that to Thursday. She wants to help Hannah, and also find Seth's third wife and know what her life with Seth is like. This novel will blow you away!

What a psychological thriller. This book had me in the edge of my seat. Did not see the end coming. Quick read, enjoyed it.

OMG thank you, thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
This book is unputabledown. It is a thriller that I could not stop reading. It kept my attention through the entire book. I was on the edge of my seat, swiping at the pages because I had to find out what will happen next.

This is my 4th book by Tarryn Fisher, Mudvein and Marrow are 2 of my favorites, but goodness The Wives just topped them both. The writing is so well thought out and the flow of events so well executed. This book was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about it.

I liked this novel right up to the ending and then felt a bit betrayed. I won't spoil it by telling you the ending, but if you read the book I'd be interested in knowing what you think about it. That said, I was intrigued and engaged right up to the last page. The premise was great, and the U turn halfway through kept me thoroughly engaged. But that last scene, just no.
