A quite enjoyable book, A Potter's Tale was fascinating, captivating and compelling. Can't wait to read more books by this author.

I couldn’t get anything out of this book at all. I didn’t understand what it was trying to tell me. It would jump back and forth to present time, then back into time of the Mayans. I just couldn’t understand at all. The more I read, the more uninterested and confused I became. But I’m thankful to #NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read it.

Despite the confusing number of story aspects that made the tale difficult to keep track of, this book was well written with plent of twists and turns. Time travelling and alternate universe lend itself to a stimulating novel. Not an easy read for me but ultimately an enjoyable one.

I had a difficult time getting into this book, it starts of in present day then goes to Mayan Indians and has a narrator in places that seems like it is God speaking ... I got totally lost and quit reading. I will perhaps give it another try at another time when I'm better able to devote attention to it.

I received a free ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

A Potter's Tale by Dave Davis is an alternative history storyline. Spanning from the Mayans to present day. You are brought along for an amazing journey. It is hard sometimes to keep all of the details straight, as there are many pieces to this story. There are some slow spots, over all that story moves at a great pace. Very enjoyable. I will be getting a copy for my husband as this is right up his alley.

Learning more about an ancient civilization drew my curiosity, but then.....I am sure there are many readers who will find this book to be a delight, sorry to say, I m not one of them. That being said, I know that several in my library will enjoy the book, so it will be purchased.

A novel about an alternate universe - or an alternate history of ours. I found the beginning chapters on the slow side - perhaps there were too many threads to the story too and I started to find it difficult to remember everything that had happened in each one.
There were also still quite a few proofing errors such as ‘well healed developers’ ; ‘members of a leafy sect’ [location 1320]
I also thought that the story could have been shorter - maybe reduce the threads and be rather cruel - there was, for me, too much of a tendency to ramble. The story line needed to be tighter.
All the above aside, the novel got an extra star for the great final twist to the tale.

Whoa! Potter's Tale is a great story dating from Mayan times to the present. Davis does a spectacular job of pulling reader in and holding you captivated by his tale. Very enjoyable book.
