The things you can count on in a Catherine Coulter book are a complex story line with plenty of action, intrigue, and unexpected twists and turns. LABYRINTH has all that and more.

LABYRINTH is a book that will certainly hold your interest, if not take you over completely. Keeping the different mysteries going on at once might seem daunting but, in truth, it flows very smoothly and you are captured to the very end.

Labyrinth takes me back to the enjoyment I had reading Coulter's early books with this new addition to her FBI series. Recently the overly humorous and often corny conversations distracted me from the story line knowing must people don't converse that way, but all conversation this time around were fitting to the situation. In Labyrinth readers follow their favorite characters Savich and Sherlock as they solve the mystery of the CIA agent that Sherlock hit in a recent car accident. The shock is Sherlock has amnesia and doesn't remember Savich. Keeping her close hoping her memory will return Savich and Sherlock busily take on locating and resolving the runaway CIA agent's situation while also assisting Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith. Hammersmith finds himself tied up with a mystery in the small Virginia town where he's gone for some R&R. Young teens have gone missing and he finds himself rescuing journalist Carson DeSilva kidnapped by one of those family members. Our main heroes are needed in both Washington and Virginia and though totally unrelated the main characters play an important role in both locations. Thrilled for the Catherine Coulter writing I love to be back.

While driving in downtown Washington Agent Sherlock's Volvo is suddenly T-boned at an intersection. Her car spins out of control and a man’s body slams against her windshield and she blacks out. When she regains consciousness in the hospital, she’s told about the accident and the man she struck. The man struck by her car is a CIA analyst who is missing after the accident. Sherlock has a concussion along with amnesia. She has no memory of Dillon or their son Sean. She starts having little spurts of memory.

Meanwhile, in the small town of Gaffer’s Ridge, Virginia, Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith rescues a kidnapped woman claiming her captor had probably murdered three missing teenage girls. However, the man she accuses is the local sheriff’s nephew and a member of a very powerful family, reputed to have psychic powers. When the sheriff arrests Griffin and the rescued woman, Carson DaSilva, he calls Savich for help. Together they have to weave their way through a labyrinth of lies to find the truth of a terrible secret and some weird behaviors.

You can count on some hinky behavior, as usual, involving Savich, Sherlock and other FBI agents.

Solid 3 1/2 stars.

I really like this author's writing style, but it seems like there are so many of these coming out, so quickly, that not only is it hard to keep up, but the writing might be suffering. Lots of extra characters being brought it, and I suspect it's to ensure many more books.

I would have rated this four stars, but I'm trying to be pickier with my star selections.

I will always read a Catherine Coulter novel, I do enjoy them.

Another outstanding installment of the Sherlock/Savich FBI series! Tells the story of an expansive plot to sell ground-breaking technology on the black market interwoven with a bizarre family that controls a small town, perhaps covering up more than one murder. A further layer of Sherlock’s amnesia from a nasty car accident adds dimension to the story. The outcome is a book I couldn’t put down!

When you peek at an ARC and see: “The #1 New York Times bestselling FBI Thriller series returns with another tour de force in which agents Savich and Sherlock stumble into a bizarre case that’s more complicated and twisted than any they’ve ever encountered.” Well, you throw your TBR out the window!

If you love FBI Agent Lacey Sherlock as much as I have come to, no doubt you will feel emotional when you read of Sherlock’s car accident and the bevy of emotions that her husband, fellow agent and boss, Dillon Savich, experienced. What a way to open a book!

While Dillon helps Sherlock to recover, as she has suffered a memory loss, Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith has just rescued a woman who says she escaped a brutal kidnapper who admitted to killing several other women. When Griffin appeals to Dillon for help, he and Sherlock head to Virginia. Dillon feels this is the only way for Sherlock to heal, and that is to be with him. This proves invaluable, because Sherlock's instincts are spot on and Dillon feels that working might help her to heal.

The case involves a missing CIA analyst. What is more is that what draws Griffin to the situation is that he hears screams for help. He cannot explain it, but he is lead to the home of a female reporter and he manages to save her life. This story, like one or two of the others in the series, lends to Dillan and Griffin experiencing a bit of psychic talent. While this is a part of the story that I did not expect, as it is not a tenet of the series, it did not take away from solving the mysterious case.

All the while, readers got to see the team working together flawlessly, as well as witnessing the growing love between Dillon and Sherlock. While reading of her losing most of her memory was painful, it was inspiring to watch her begin to heal. This fast-moving story had me riveted from the arresting introduction to the shocking conclusion.

Many thanks to Gallery Books and NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

I like when, I don't figure out the ending of a book, in the first chapter of a book. This one kept me guessing to the end.

Ahhhh!! This book was classic Catherine counter and reminded me why I fell in love with her writing! She has written numerous Sherlock and savage books but with this one still manages to keep it fresh and interesting and the plot/premise was something that could actually happen. I also appreciated having repeat characters from previous books and finding out that their lives werent wrapped up tidy with a bow. It was much more real life and I loved that!

I love Catherine Coulter’s series about Sherlock and Savich! This is another hit and I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t believe what happened to Sherlock (car accident), but everyone rallies around her. The plot was quick paced and I enjoyed two different plots that needed to be solved, as they helped to solve them both with other agents. I can’t wait for the next book!

(Will post to Goodreads and Amazon once the book is released.)

Sherlock and Savich are back...but wait maybe not. The latest installment in Catherine Coulter's FBI series, #23 is "Labyrinth" a winding novel of two very different storylines. The novel opens with a nasty car accident that leave Sherlock with amnesia and a an injured, missing CIA analyst on the run. Without her memory, how can there be a Savich and Sherlock, much less the dynamic crime fighting duo? This story is fast moving and bring our characters into close contact with espionage, security at the highest levels and the CIA.

Concurrently, Griffin is out in the country taking a break after completing a tough case. But these guys can't catch a break and he finds himself subconsciously hearing screams for help, which leads him to a home where he saves a gorgeous, kidnapped reporter from possible death. This story veers rather oddly into the paranormal psychic realms with our protagonists and villians battling with their brains as well as their brawn to find missing young women that are disappearing at an increasingly fast pace.

I've read the entire series of books and this was not only a very quick read, but one that I skimmed over parts and was hoping for the end. With two divergent plot lines, neither one was as intricate or compelling as a well developed single plot might have been. As a light weight beach read, Ms. Coulter nailed it.

Wow this one was way batter then the last one I read which was part of her series A Brit In The FBI , this one had a lot of stuff I like in a story , and I loved how some of the characters as well as the bad guys seem to have the presence of paranormal powers which add to the story and help make the story flow together even if there was two stories in one , but even that didn't take anything away form the story , in fact it made me want to keep on reading , with that said I want to say thank you to Netgalley for letting me read and review it.

The presence of paranormal powers in several characters adds to the suspense in this novel. It was hard to stop reading because you didn’t know what turn the plot would take next. This book is well written and entertaining. A “must read.”
