Super sweet. Quick read. Loved Will to pieces. I enjoy reading about older characters--second time around so to speak. Characters with lives that don't always match up to dating. Emma and Will made it work.

Short, quick hot story. Emma and Will’s chemistry is off the charts. Landing next door and finding each other was fate. If your looking for a quick, dirty read I recommend.

Emma lives alone with her two young daughters. Her new neighbor, Will, has his son some weekends.
They meet.
They become friends who give self love through there bedroom windows.
They have sex.
An incident occurs that has Emma pulling away.
For a short novella, I really enjoyed this one. Kind of an insta-love romance with single parents.

I genuinely loved this story. It touches on tough subjects and real post birth issues that women have to deal with. It’s the first romance I have read covering this subject but I think it’s important for stories to feel “genuine “ and this story did that. Didn’t hurt that Will was a total DILF & their sex scenes were hot AF. Loved their banter, their honesty & the way he helped her find her way back to sexy.

Trope: neighbors
Cover rating: for a "Dirty Bits" title I would expect more steam, this is almost ao bland it can be ignored
Book description accuracy: eh, maybe 50%? It covers the general storyline but makes it seem like it would be a dual POV
General review:
I didn't enjoy this. From the series description, I expected a quick lunch hour read with erotic ROMANCE. Instead I got several hours of slogging through a disjointed story where the erotic bits seemed thrown in as an afterthought just to classify it for this series and meet word count. I don't mind blatant erotica but in erotic romance I expect it to enhance the story, not take me out of it. All of a sudden they're masturbating to each other from their bedroom windows and all of a sudden her nipples are pierced. Like, what?!? That felt like it came out of nowhere and then all of a sudden she has this wild past- that does NOT fit with how she acts and thinks now. H is just automatically fully invested in the relationship, we don't really get anything from his POV and I couldn't see why they were together. Time jumps are weird, not really explained, which makes it hard to understand how the relationship is progressing. I would recommend avoiding this one.
Angst style: mom guilt
POV: 1st person, h only
Relationship stage reached: married
Epilogue? Yes, on honeymoon

Content warnings: traumatic childbirth, medical procedure without consent (husband stitch), dealing with pain during sexual act, child with cerebral palsy, drug addicted spouse
I recieved an ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Right Next Door by Delilah Peters a new to me author. A face paced storyline and spicy book. Look forward to reading more by author.

So freaking sweet and hella hot. Got a few tears out of me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Normally these Novellas are quick stories light on the character development but full of hotness. This one was just a little different. This book showcases a single mom and a single dad and the struggles that they encounter just living life. Got a few tears out of me!
However, that’s not to say this book is not loaded with the delicious heat that we always look for. This author knows how to pour it on and turn it on.
With great characters that work beautifully together and a quick story that will make you sweat a few times, Right Next Door is Perfect for a little downtime and change of pace. So flipping hot.
“Right Next Door” by Delilah Peters was rather cringe-worthy. Definitely not the best “romance erotica” (if you can ever call it that) I have ever read. The characters weren't worth mentioning, the wham-bam kiss and forwardness of the relationship didn't happened naturally and it was well, boring.
This was an interesting story. It is a novella length and full of hot scenes but its not really erotica as the heroine has some serious issues relating to sex. I really enjoyed Emma and Will and their story. Will has moved next door to Emma and is building a ramp for his handicapped son when he meets Emma.
He still loves the mother of his child though they did not work. He has moved to town with her so he can be close to his son and he is Emmas new neighbor. She has two kids and so the three kids hoit it off as does Will and Emma. It was a fun story about blending families.
But it also deals with a sexual disfunction issue in women I have never heard about and that caused Emma to not really love sex anymore. At times it seemed out of place in this story as its a novella and felt like it needed a longer story. That said the story was fun, interesting and I really enjoyed it.
A surprisingly serious book in this series. It's not a spoiler (the author talks about it in her foreword) to say that this book deals with past traumatic birth and painful intercourse. Therefore the sex scenes felt important and redemptive for the heroine, but not really sexy for the reader. I liked the characters and found the story engaging, but I would not have included it in the "Dirty Bits" series.
Right Next Door, was crazy sexy. There was a weird intimate moment were Emma is explaining what happened during her second childs' birth. Other than that, I loved this book.
Full, more detailed RTC closer to the RD
CW/TW
- (on page talk about) traumatic childbirth, talk about medical procedure & aftermaths; dealing with pain while sexual act; several emotional breakdowns
- disabled side character; talk about cerebral palsy (CP) & general side character's condition due to traumatic childbirth of the mother
- Kinky sex (anal, light spanking)
This book was so amazing, sexy & full of consent. Through the whole book we see lots of understanding, tender and care.
Will is one of the heroes you definitely wish they are real or at least would love to have more from. 💗
He's super caring towards Emma, his son is his life & he's not shy in experimenting new stuff. *wiggle eyebrows*
I was also super hooked by how Emma was displayed, her pain is well executed in the book without being overly dramatic, due to the author's note we know she had a traumatic childbirth and suffers from the aftermaths of it.
This was so good! Really liked how the author shed some light on postpartum, the affects it has on women, and how they handle it. And I'm always love reading books with single parent(s), they always get me the feels. A very good first book from Peters as well. Can't wait to read more from her.
