This story was full of intrigue, suspense and treason along with a heavy dose of romance and a nice touch of humor. If the Vicount was truly wicked send him to me! He's delicious in every way! Highly recommended!

Cat Campbell knows all about Nathaniel Worthington, fifth Viscount of Lincolnshire. The determined Englishman is never far from Finlarig Castle, where his sisters train women to do more than read and write. And thanks to the fiery kiss they shared nearly a year ago he is never far from her thoughts. No one ever trained her how to forget an irresistible man.
I’ve read a few of this authors highland books and thoroughly enjoyed them. I was happy that this one was just as enjoyable. I really liked Cat and Nathanial and I loved following them through this story. I highly recommend.

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. the wicked viscount was an intriguing read. Cat has been trained to be a Highland Rose a elite Warrior class of women. When the king is poisoned she is asked to come to England in order to discover who has committed treason. She is squirted by Nathaniel who is mesmerized by the girl who saved his life. This book is full of Adventure and of course romance and I love both the hero and heroine.

3.5 Hearts This historical romance comes after a first kiss that should never have happened but once it did neither Cat nor Nathaniel can forget about it.

But he can not be interested in Cat since Nathaniel needs to marry someone from a nobel home or lose everything.

I can’t say that this book was out of the norm because it wasn’t. Very typical of the genre. But the writing was well done and the story was enjoyable.

In 1685 in the Scottish Highlands Cat Campbell cannot forget Nathaniel Worthington, fifth Viscount of Lincolnshire or the kiss they shared nearly a year ago. With her connections to the Highland Roses School where Nathaniel's sisters instruct women in reading, writing and more she cannot avoid him.

Nathaniel cannot forget the Scottish lass who healed him months ago or the searing kiss they shared, but he knows they can never be together, his father's will is explicit, he will lose everything if he does not marry a suitable woman.  When a summons arrives for Cat from Queen Catherine demanding Cat's presence in London Nathaniel finds himself volunteering to be her escort.

When the pair find themselves in the centre of danger and intrigue they cannot resist their growing attraction, but secrets have a way of revealing themselves, and when trust is lost it's hard to get it back.

This is not a time period I typically read, I prefer Regency and Victorian settings, but this was an okay read. This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. I will not be sticking with the series, but this book is an excellent read for people who do enjoy the time period.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cat Campbell knows all about Nathaniel Worthington, fifth Viscount of Lincolnshire and his sisters who train women to do more than read and write. Nearly a year ago they shared a fiery kiss when he was wounded and ever since he’s is never far from her thoughts. Nathaniel is out in the forest looking for the vexing and forbidden Cat Campbell. He has been sent to bring Cat back to Finlarig Castle where they have just received a missive from Queen Catherine. The King has been poisoned and Nathaniel must escort Cat to court to attend the King. There’s been a passion smoldering between Nathaniel they have been denying, but traveling in such close proximity has a tendency to inflame their passions. Nathaniel knows he should keep his distance from the fierce Scottish lass, but as they reach court they find more intrigue, deceit, lies, treason and secrets including Nathaniel’s secret. A truly captivating story of Cat and Nathaniel, will they finally give into the passions and the growing attraction between them? Will they survive all treachery at court as they risk their lives for a future together? I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Wow I'm just stunned with how good this title was. I just had so much fun reading this title and getting to along for the ride with these amazing characters. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Cat is called to London by the queen and Nathaniel has volunteered to escort her there. Cat destains all things English, and for good reason. So when she has to go to London escorted by an Englishman, she is not happy. But there has always been something between her and Nathaniel and it gets harder to deny as they spend so much one on one time together.

Nathaniel has been intrigued with Cat since they met and quickly volunteers to escort her to London when she is summoned. During their time together, he soon realizes that his attraction is not one sided. But they must navigate the court while in England and some startling truths emerge. Can this budding romance survive?

I really enjoyed Cat and Nathaniel's story! I've enjoyed both of them in the previous books in the series and was surprised when McCollum partnered them, but she knew what she was doing when she did. They are perfect for each other! I love that Cat has made a life for herself after her parents died. She is a very strong woman and needed to be to get through all that she had.

I'm very excited to see what McCollum comes up with next!

I enjoyed Cat and Nathaniel’s story. I was a bit lost at the beginning, not familiar with the other books but reading some references. But once I got into it I was able to plug along. The story is steady, not rushed. It gives your time to reveal Cat and Nathaniel’s story, give them chance to learn about each other and fall in love.

I have always enjoyed strong female leads and Cat did not disappoint. Nathaniel was also a good, sexy hero. It was a good read and enjoyable historical romance. I will definitely look for the other books to get a better feel of this series.

Title: The Wicked Viscount

Series: The Campbells #3

Author: Heather McCollum

Genre: historical romance

comes out : May 28,2019

1685, Scottish Highlands

Cat Campbell knows all about Nathaniel Worthington, fifth Viscount of Lincolnshire. The determined Englishman is never far from Finlarig Castle, where his sisters train women to do more than read and write. And thanks to the fiery kiss they shared nearly a year ago he is never far from her thoughts. No one ever trained her how to forget an irresistible man.

Nathaniel knows he should keep his distance from the fierce Scottish lass, but when an urgent letter from Queen Catherine calls Cat to London, he can’t resist volunteering to escort her. The tension between the two has simmered for months, but the long journey in close quarters creates a raging wildfire that could burn them both.

Secrets of their past and the treachery lurking at court put both their future together and their very lives at risk.

My thoughts

rating: 4.5

Would I recommend it? yes

Would I read anything by this author? yes

Would I read the rest of the series ? yes

First off I want say that even though this is book 3 in a series , you can read it as well as the others as standalone or as a complete series , and each book that I've read which is only so far is this one and the Scottish Rough , the characters seem to come to live off the page and the story flows together really well that you get lost in it from the start to the finish, With that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

The Wicked Viscount is a well-written and solid historical romance. I really like the added suspense to the otherwise good story. Enjoyed it.

The Wicked Viscount was my first historical romance by Heather McCollum, but it certainly will not be my last. Vivid, emotional and compelling, The Wicked Viscount is a wonderfully written historical tale that should not be missed.

A year might have passed since the sizzling kiss Cat Campbell had shared with Nathaniel Worthington, the Fifth Viscount of Lincolnshire, but the fiery Scottish lass is still haunted by the memories of her passionate encounter with the brooding Englishman. Resisting a devastatingly attractive man with the ability to turn her entire life upside down was not something Cat had received instruction on. Whilst she is well aware that she must put memories of that day behind her, she soon realises that forgetting Nathaniel is easier said than done – especially as he is never far from Finlarig Castle, where his sisters train girls to do more than just reading or writing. Still, Cat knows that she should give Nathaniel as wide a berth as possible, but little does she realize that a royal summons from Queen Catherine is going to thrust her into close proximity with the man who has awakened feelings deep inside her she never thought she would be lucky enough to experience!

An urgent letter from the Queen calls Cat to London, and as a young woman by herself couldn’t possibly travel all the way to London from Scotland by herself, Nathaniel immediately volunteers to escort her and to protect her on a journey that could be fraught with danger and jeopardy. Nathaniel knows that he should keep his distance from Cat, but he simply cannot pass up the chance of spending time with the woman who has managed to get under his skin and slowly break the defenses he had built around his heart. As the two find themselves spending time together, long-buried feelings come rushing to the fore and giving into temptation soon proves inevitable for Cat and Nathaniel. But is a future together on the cards for the two of them? Will the chasm that divides them ever be breached? Or will they be kept apart by secrets from the past?

As court intrigue and treachery conspire to tear them asunder, will Cat and Nathaniel succeed in their fight for happiness? Or is their relationship doomed to fail?

An immensely enjoyable historical romance that sparkles with history, mystery, passion and adventure, The Wicked Viscount is a rip-roaring tale of forbidden desire and illicit attraction spiced with plenty of intrigue and suspense to keep readers eagerly turning the pages late into the night.

Cat and Nathaniel’s love story is wonderfully evocative, beautifully written and heart-warmingly romantic. Readers are sure to fall madly in love with Cat and Nathaniel and they will laugh and cry with them and cheer them on to get their sunset ending.

A fantastic historical romance fans of the genre are going to love, The Wicked Viscount is a must-read from my new auto-buy author Heather McCollum.

Heather McCollum never fails to give you a strong sexy hero and Nathaniel does not disappoint. Being in the healthcare field I love books with healers, so Cat was my kind of heroine. One who doesn't need anyone to take care of her, but when they look like Nathaniel, well, its hard to turn him away!. Strong characters. Different from the others in the series as its more of a road trip and then castle politics. But, this makes it easy to jump into the series if you haven't read the others. Overall I really liked it and can't wait to read more by this author!

The Wicked Viscount is a really good addition to The Campbells series although very different from the first two books. Cat is a product of the Highland Rose school and the most talented in healing and protection. Nathaniel, Viscount Worthington, is her escort to court and is the wicked viscount. He is not really, but it’s a good book title.

This book mainly takes place on the journey to London and in London. Cat is not what I was expecting having read the first two books. Attending the school has helped refine her somewhat, but she still have her ‘thorns.’ Nathaniel does not seem able to stay away from her even when you can see she captures his interest. There are secrets these two keep from each other that play a huge role in preventing them from being together. The court antics do not help any.

In playing on the theme of Cat as protector, she gets into several ‘skirmishes’ with ‘traitors and bad guys.’ Toward the end of the book, I began to think the fighting was being overplayed. It’s not bad, I just wanted to get to Cat and Nathaniel’s HEA. Again, I am not saying it was bad because this is a very well written book that will hold your interest 95% of the time. I just wanted began to want to skip over some of the knives and sword play. Beyond that is is a great read.

Cat is a strong heroine, the best of the Highland Roses. Just loved Nathaniel...and undersood why he kept a secret! The intrigue was great, character development was wonderful.

This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. Cat and Nathaniel are great characters with steamy chemistry. The story is fast-paced with loads of drama and plenty of twists and turns. I was hooked on this historical read from beginning to end. I really liked it.
