This was an awesomely entertaining romantic suspense story! I had so much fun reading it and was on the edge of my seat while everything played out. It's full of drama, emotion, and a whole lot of sexy.

I loved Peyton and Boone meeting, they had great chemistry. I like learning about Peyton and everything she’d gone through. I liked her perseverance as she moved forward with her life. She had a great strength about her that I really enjoyed. I thought Boone was the sweetest man, thoughtful and caring, and oh so sexy! I liked their development, understood their conflict, and loved learning their histories. There were so many great moments as they open up. I could feel their attraction and loved their heat.

I really liked meeting all the people in the town, Boone’s friends and I loved the friendships Peyton formed, and the new family she’s making for herself. There was a nice introduction to the next couple in the series that I'm curious about. I’m excited to see where it all will go.

At 20%, the story really hit its stride for me and I was all in. The suspense element is great, though I feel it is definitely lighter romantic suspense. There's just enough info to keep you invested and to keep things moving along but it's not overly in depth. I settled in and was enjoying watching Peyton and Boone heal from their past and fall in love, all the while I was guessing what was what and just having fun reading it.

This was entertaining for sure! It’s got drama and action, a nice amount of sexy and a whole lot of healing and love. I totally enjoyed it!

Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Boone and Payton, what can I say? They were amazing! their connection intense and captivating. Two broken souls who found in each other the thing that completed them in a different way than they could have ever expected.

Payton's story was heartbreaking, she went through one of the hardest things that anyone could experience and she was taking a step into finding her place in the world again, a new life, a clean slate.
Little by little she starts to make a new home for herself, she has amazing friends and a job she loves. She also has a crazy knee-weakening attraction to the sexy detective and she has no clue what to do about it.

How do you open yourself up to love again when you thought you already had your HEA? When is the right time to move on?

Boone's life hasn't been easy either, he has been able to move on from his past hurt, but he is still not complete. His life is full of family and friend's love, but he hasn't been able to open his heart again.
As a detective, he has always trusted his gut but after everything that happened he is not sure he can make things work with someone else without fearing dishonesty.

Something dark has followed Payton to this new heaven she's found and it will be up to Boone to figure the mystery out if he want to save her.

Thrilling action scenes, death, guns, a lot of blood and some intense sex scenes made this story amazing!

A story about second chances in life. Even when it feels that everything is over, you have to focus on the lights in the dark. Those shinny moments, even if small and fleeting can be the start of something bigger that will bring light back into your life.

This was a sexy romantic suspense! From the very start, you knew there was loss, but you also clearly felt the need to move forward, and not have the past hold you back. As the romance builds, so does the suspense. Each line moving along parallel to each other as they get closer and closer together. When it all finally comes crashing together, even then, the suspense holds, until the moment of reveal! And that epilogue, streaming tears of happiness!!!

Naughty Stranger is the first standalone book in Stacey Kennedy’s new series, Dangerous Love, and it’s a steamy and emotional romance with a generous dose of intrigue and suspense. Peyton was recently widowed and has moved to the small town of Stoney Creek to start over again. She shares an impulsive, passionate kiss with a stranger and discovers that he is her friend’s brother, Boone, who is a local detective. Although neither want a relationship, their chemistry can’t be denied, and when someone is murdered, Boone instinctually wants to protect Peyton. The unpredictable twists and turns of this story will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for Peyton and Boone every step of the way.

This book has been hard to rate. On one hand, it has been a nice surprise that the mystery part is an important part of the story. On the other hand… when there is not someone bleeding, the book gets boring pretty fast. At the end, it feels like a nice first step for a saga, but it could have been handle better.

Through the pages of the book we meet Peyton, a young widow who is desperate to have a fresh start and regain some kind of happiness. In order to achive that, she drops her job as a nurse and goes to live to a small town to be the owner of a lingerie shop. There (in the town, not in the shop) she meets Boone, the hot detective. To add some spice to a pretty basic plot, a murder takes place in Peyton’s new shop…

In my opinion, the best part of the book is the mystery surrounding the murder and its link with Peyton. Those parts are the most enjoyable and the ones that add a good pace to the story. They are fast, well-timed and packed with different levels of action. It is a big surprised, actually. Reading the blurb, I thought the murder was going to be something in the background barely touched, but its presence is much more meatier than that. I really like that and I hope the next books follow the same pattern. Being said that, the mystery is also pretty simple and way easy to solve. Not only the who, also the why. The author drops too many clues to the reader and few suspects, so it is easy to add 2 plus 2. It is actually a bit weird that four detectives and Peyton were incapable of solving it sooner…

Too bad the nice mystery plot is paired with a truly unremarkable romance. Why on the name of all that is holy did they have to kiss in the prologue? Yes, the prologue!! Something like that pisses me off so badly. I felt robbed of everything good of the first steps of a blossoming romance. Where are the banter, the flirting, the playfulness and the eagerness to meet each other before going all in? They kiss, they ignore each other, then talk again and… sex. With one rule: nothing serious. But, somehow, by the end of the book, that rule is ignored and we, the readers, are punished with one of the most absurd and unrealistic proposals I have ever read. Zero sense. It is starting to sicken me the concept of a wedding as the only possible happily ever after. At the same time I was reading that, my mind was writing its own What if? where Peyton was revealed as the true murderer to make the last pages bearable.

If to a bad romance you add uncharismatic characters you obtain a bunch of really boring pages that made me wish for another murder to stoke my interest in the story. Fair is fair. The characters work just fine, but they are a bit simple. There is barely any sense of humour or talks about simple things. All conversations are heavy weights for the soul and it is tiring. Not even when the hunky cops are united the atmosphere gets lighter. They are too serious for their age. So, I didn’t enjoy the love/sex scenes with the main couple. I can’t believe in their relationship. I challenge them to tell me just one hobby of the other one. Their favourite food, or colour, or book or something other than the tragedies of their lives. They DO NOT know each other. I can’t buy their love, sorry.

When my interest in the romance is low, I tend to get annoyed by other tiny details that have no importance, but it is how my mind cope with the boring parts. For example, it upsets me greatly the fact that in Maine is not mandatory to use helmet. The stupidity of that is not the author’s fault, but I was very surprised by the fact that Peyton doesn’t make any remarks about it. She was a ER nurse. She must have seen dozens of wounded bikers who saved their lives thanks to the helmet. And her first husband died in a car accident. I find pretty unbelievable that she is so nonchalant about the fact that Boone doesn’t use helmet while riding his bike. If she really cared…

I could point out more situations where I read too much into them due to my lack of interest for the romance. Like the slowest ambulances in the world to make the hero be the first or a sex scene in an abandoned greenhouse that was use by drug dealers… Very, very romantic… But that’s all on me.

Does the bad win over the good parts? I would say it has ended in a tie. I will read the second book and hope with all my might that the romance between Remy and Asher is better.

Loved this one!! It was the perfect blend of a sexy romance and suspense. It's very well written with a nice easy flow, great characters, and an explosive storyline. City girl Peyton Kerr relocates to small town Maine seeking a fresh start away from the horrors of the city. When tragedy follows her Boone Knight comes into her life. He's the detective investigating the incident and he's worried Peyton is in danger so he vows to protect her. Neither Peyton or Boone are looking for a relationship but sometimes things just happen. Don't miss their story. I highly recommend it.

Boone was a detective and his sister owns a bar right near Payton's new lingerie shop she would be opening. Payton had lost her husband Adam in a car accident. Stormy Creek was the last place she had been really happy in a little over a year ago when her and Adam had visited. But Adam is gone and and she wanted to start a new life. Payton had named her shop Uptown Girl. She had been in town a month now. Boone marriage ended two years ago and every since than he preferred his relationships be fleeting. He had no intention of getting married again. But he wanted Payton in his bed and he figured one time wouldn’t be enough. But since that one hot kiss Payton had done her best to steer clear of him. Rhett was Boone’s lifelong friend and fellow detective as was Asher. Rhett told Boone he was a goner. Payton had gotten into his head. There had been a murder it was at Payton's shop and as soon as word got out Boon knew fear would run rampant in the town he loved and served to protect. Rhett told him Payton had opened the door and Kinsley when they had found the body. Boone did what he did best- he surveyed the scene. The woman’s body had been in the back storage room. Asher agreed something about this crime felt odd. Anything odd was never a good thing. And the tension spilling out from Rhett and Asher mirrored what Boone felt too. Boone couldn't pinpoint what bothered him about what he was seeing here, but something made his skin crawl. He trusted that sensation telling him something more was going on here than first appearance. Payton had secrets and if they related to the murder victim or not was something he’d find out. There was a strong attraction between Payton and Boone for reasons unknown to Payton. But Adam had only been gone one year. She wasn’t ready to move on. Kinsey had been instrumental on making the grand opening of Uptown Girl and its success. When they had a picture of the victim back at the station and the detectives noticed how similar Payton and the victim looked liked Payton. Payton felt the day had been long and exhausted and the strain and stress lay heavy on her shoulders. She had left Seattle and gave up nursing to stay away from death ut death seemed to follow her. All day she had been fighting against the heavy blanket of sadness that had nearly suffocated her. Boone showed up at Payton's home to make sure she was O K. She told him about being a nurse and widow and she moved to Stone Creek. Payton than asked if they could stop about talking about that. Boone kissed her and Payton lost herself in his passion. The fire between them was originally what drew Boone in. The energy, intensity burned hotter now. When Boone asked if he only would have tonight with her than also said he figured Kinsley told her he was divorced and she already knew he wasn’t looking for a relationship either which was why she was allowing this to happen. Payton said it was more about being reminded today that she only gets one shot at life. There were both adults. They both want each other and don’t to fall in love. She said that makes it perfectly safe for them to stop fighting the crazy, hot thing between them. What Boone wanted was Payton to stop avoiding him. For an unknown reason that had been driving Boone crazy. Exhausted by being forcibly pulled to her. He needed to find out why this woman had such a draw. Boone asked about rules: no official dates, but informal lunches were OK as were surprise coffees. Sleepovers were fine as long as she didn’t wake up and boone was staring at her adoringly. The only major rule was don’t fall in love with hre. Boone woke to find Payton in her kitchen. He’d been where she was right now where the mind ran wild with guilt ,pain and everything in between. He renovated his house -t hta was his therapy. Payton’s must be cleaning He preceded to make omelets for them. They had become lovers. Boone woke the next morning to Kinsley setting on the edge of Payton’s bed. He basically told her that what was going on was none of hre business, she came back with everything was her business he’s always been close to Kinsley. He supposed that happened when your mother left your father to have a new -better- family in California when Boone was five and Kinsley was three. Boone told her if she had something to say to say it and she said you better know what you’re doing. Boone than said when did he not know what he was doing? Kinsley said she really liked Payton and he better not hurt her. Remy was a new age witch. Remy and Kinsley were best friends and took Payton under their wing so the three were now best friends and were there with Payton’s shop had been released and she could open her shop. Payton had never knew friends like this. Than a blast from her past came through her shop door - justin had been Adam’s college roommate and than business in K and B Properties. Adam and Justin were like brothers but personalities were worlds apart.
This was an excellent read with a lot in it: a fatal car accident, a young widow, murder, attempted murder, an assassin, intrigue, drama, action, suspense, danger, new start, and so much more. I love the relationship Payton developed with kinsley and Remy. I loved Payton and Boone together as they helped each other heal. I loved the pace and plot. I didn’t want to put this down. I was pulled into this book from the very beginning and stayed there until the very end. I have another new favorite. This was so worth reading. I I loved the ending. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

Exciting murder mystery disguised as a small-town romance!

After her husband's death, Peyton pulls up stakes and relocates across the country to the small town they had last vacationed in. What starts out as a simple task of settling into a new town and a new life quickly turns into a run for her life!

Boone keeps his feelings locked up tight after his ex-wife's betrayal, but he's not above having a little fun with the new shop owner in town. Soon, though, this local police detective is drawn into figuring out the murder at her shop and the seemingly random accidents that nearly succeed in killing her.

Nothing is as it seems, and the twist at the end was truly surprising. This story is about so much more than the crime drama, though. There's quite a lot of emotional depth as both Peyton and Boone are compelled to reveal all their buried secrets. The suspense was artfully paced alongside the romance, giving the reader a solid feel for the emotional roller coaster that the characters were experiencing. The triumphant HEA was terrific, and we get a nice peek into the conflict of the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book was pretty darn good, sucked me in from the start. It had a good story line and great characters. The perfect amount of steam and a bit of mystery. Would have been a 5 star for me except for I was able to figure out who was behind the killing from the beginning. I was hoping for some twists and turns to prove me wrong but didn't happen. Anyway, this story is about Peyton who after her husbands death moves to a small town to start her life over again. There she meets Boone. Sparks fly between the two but with previous heart ache experienced by both of them it's hard to move on. Their journey was great and entertaining.

Stacey Kennedy knew what she was doing when she titled this one Naughty Stranger! This story was full of sizzling chemistry, romance, lust, love, great secondary characters, secrets, and suspense that kept me glued to the pages.

Peyton Kerr has left Seattle and moved to Stoney Creek, Maine because it was the last place that she was happy. Unable to continue to just survive, after losing her husband, she needed to breathe and live again. Using all the life insurance money she purchases a lingerie store “Uptown Girl” and a house on the lake. When she wanders into the bar by her store she meets the owner and has a few drinks. But what she didn’t count on was meeting Boone Knight and kissing him.

Boone Knight is a hotter than hot, sexy, detective for the small town of Stoney Creek, who has been burned already by love. He isn’t into relationships , but when Peyton kisses the hell out of him, and then stay clear of him, he just can’t stop that kiss from constantly playing in his mind. All he wanted to do was recreate that kiss again. But when a murder occurs in Peyton’s store and he is assigned to the case, Peyton would just have to give up some of her secrets and some of the distance she had been creating between them. Because Boone was determined to keep her safe

These two strangers unexpectedly come into each other’s lives and heat up each other to a lethal level of lust and needy rawness. Their affection for each other is intense, full of pure need and sweet affection. Leading them out the other side of their difficult pasts to a HEA. Captivating Romance at its best.

This had my full attention and I cannot wait to see what happens next in Book two of this series, “Wicked Sinner”, Remy and Asher’s Story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

I liked the writing in this book very much. I felt that Boone and Peyton along with the secondary characters were well crafted and likeable. I love the intrigue and suspense portions of the book. I also enjoyed it being set in a small town in the east. The chemistry and spice was good and it was easy to fall for Boone.

Naughty Stranger is a suspense romance set in a small town. The heroine has lost her husband and is determined to start over at the place she was last happy. From the moment Peyton Kerr arrived in Stoney Creek, Maine, she felt like she belonged. Although on her very first night in town, Peyton did make a full of herself by kissing the daylights out of a complete stranger, she managed to keep her wits about herself ever since. She also kept her distance from one very sexy police detective Boone Knight, which was the best she could do in order to avoid temptation and maintain her guilt at bay. That is until someone was murdered in her store. Scared and disoriented, Peyton leans into her new friends to keep from unraveling. When Boone is assigned to the murder case, staying away from the woman who has kept his thoughts from the moment they kissed becomes an impossibility. Especially when danger seems to follow her no matter where she goes. Keeping Peyton safe and figuring out who is out to get her becomes his priority. Between danger and high emotions, Peyton and Boone give into the incinerating attraction that has been brewing between them. But can either of them survive long enough to overcome their pasts and find happiness again? A sexy as all get out murder romance, with amazing characters and a plot to keep readers entranced from beginning to end.

Peyton and Boone were so easy to connect to. Peyton was trying to start over in a new town after losing her husband in a car accident a year before. She felt constantly reminded of her loss in Seattle and decided a move and new career were the fresh start she needed. She makes fast friends with Kinsley, who owns the bar next to her lingerie store. Kinsley also happens to be the sister of Boone, the handsome police detective she is instantly attracted to and trying to avoid.

Boone has baggage of his own. He is divorced and there was a painful story tied to that which explains why he is resistant to pursuing serious relationships. He and Peyton agree to something casual because they can't resist their attraction. Of course, as the book progresses, so do their feelings. Woven through all of this romance is the fact that a murder occurred in Peyton's store and she feels like she's being watched. Boone's protective nature engages and it leads him and Peyton to spending even more time together.

Even though, I was fairly confident that I had figured out the mystery portion of the book early on, I still enjoyed the way the book developed and thought it was a fun read. Also, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I really liked the secondary characters and am glad they'll be getting their own stories.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Forever Yours, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this romantic suspense story. This was a new-to-me author, and I'm highly anticipating the rest of this series!

Peyton Kerr fled Seattle, and her nursing career, after losing her husband. She moved to a small town they both had loved on an amazing vacation together, Stoney Creek, Maine. She uses the insurance payout to buy her small house, and a small business on the square, a lingerie store. She worked at one while she was a nursing student, and always enjoyed herself. She wants to find happiness again after the last year spent in turmoil. On her first night in town, she meets a wonderful woman who becomes her best friend, Kinsley, as well as Kinsley's big brother, Boone.

Boone Knight has been a detective in Stoney Creek for 2 years. He grew up in town, but spent 10 years as a cop in NYC, where he moved with his ex-wife after they were first married. When he returned to town, he was thrilled to reconnect with his 2 childhood best friends, and fellow detectives, Rhett and Asher, as well as his dad, and his sister. Boone had a very painful break from his ex, for some very interesting reasons. The night he first sees Peyton in his sister's bar, he's immediately attracted. She's tipsy, and lays a kiss on him unexpectedly, and he's all for it, but eventually cooler heads prevail. Then she spends the next month avoiding him. He's determined to get her attention, but when a dead woman is found in her shop, an opportunity presents itself for him to get closer to her, and protect her from harm.

Boone and Peyton's connection was HOT and so strong from the first minute. I loved how drawn they were to each other, even though they both had huge and varied reasons for their reluctance to act on their attraction. Peyton was still fighting through the heartbreak of her husband's death, and Boone was no longer confident in his own instincts where women were concerned. He didn't think he could ever truly open his heart and trust one again. They both agreed to give in to the pull, but with the caveat that it was totally casual. No real dates. No falling in love. But they both came to realize that they couldn't keep those promises.

I really loved Boone's sister Kinsley. She was so sweet, and fun, and caring, and really came to be a best friend and sister to Peyton. She was ALL FOR Peyton and her brother dating, and she even tried to push them together faster than they were willing to go. She was a delight of a character and I can't wait for her story. She holds a long-lasting torch for Rhett, though she doesn't think he'll ever settle down. I guess we'll see about that! I also enjoyed Kinsley's best friend and employee, Remy. Remy fancies herself a bit of a witch. She reads tarot, and tea leaves, and sages Peyton's shop after the murder. She has a past with Asher, but he broke her heart, and she's trying to move on. But everyone HATES her new boyfriend, and thinks he's a creep, and she won't hear it. I'm curious to see how that'll all shake out, since Remy and Asher's book is next! It struck me funny that she can read into other people's lives but doesn't even notice her boyfriend is sketchy. I guess we'll see what happens! Boone's dad and Peyton's parents were sweet as well, and I loved getting to know all these awesome characters in this lovely small coastal town. I'm heading to Maine on vacation soon, for the first time, and I am so excited to find a cool town similar to this one!

The suspense plot here was great, and scary at times, and I enjoyed how it all played out. I was suspicious of the baddie from the start, but I wasn't totally sure why they would be doing it, and I waffled on whether I thought they did or didn't throughout the story. I think it was handled well, and I looked forward to every action-packed moment. I'm curious how much other bad stuff can happen to our protagonists in this quaint small town over the next two books, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the author lays it out.

I really enjoyed this story, and I loved watching two broken souls find hope, and love, in each other. Especially amidst a crazy murder plot, and all their friends nosiness! I highly recommend this awesome suspense story, and I can't wait for the next one!

Peyton Kerr has had a rough time of it lately. She decides to leave her home in Seattle, WA to start over in the last place she was happy, Stoney Creek, Maine. There Peyton is the new owner of the lingerie shop. Upon arrival Peyton heads to the bar next door to her shop for some food. There she meets Kinsley, the bar owner and they just click. Peyton also notices the hot guy at the bar but steers clear of him until he is suddenly next to her. When Peyton starts to feel nervous she heads to the bathroom. Imagine her surprise when she walks out the door right into the guys arms and ends up kissing him. Imagine Kinsley's surprise when she sees her new friend kissing her brother, Boone a local detective! LOL.

Boone is instantly attracted to Peyton but has stayed away from her because of things from his past. When a dead body is found in Peyton's store, Boone and his partner show up at the store to investigate. When Boone is determined to protect Peyton from any harm, they decide to throw caution to the wind and get together. What they didn't expect was the level of sexual chemistry they had.....off the charts!!!! As Boone and Peyton spend more time together, their feelings keep growing stronger. While it is obvious that there are things from their pasts that neither of them divulged, they can't help but want to be together.

When it appears that there may be someone actually trying to kill Peyton, Boone goes into full protective mode and realizes that he may want more out of this relationship than he originally thought. Between keeping Peyton safe, finding the killer and trying to get beyond their pasts, it will be a long and bumpy ride for these two until they can find their happy ending.

I just loved Peyton and Boone. They both had such emotional pasts and it took a lot for each of them to get past it in order to be able to move forward into the future. Peyton is such a sweet, fun person and I can't even begin to image what she has been through. Boone is such a great alpha male with a big helping of emotions thrown in. Together these two could finally get beyond their pasts to finally find a happy ending. I also loved the mystery that revolved around their story. It really made it fun trying to figure out who the killer was. Overall a great start to a new series!
