I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 in the Wicked Dukes club series. I really don’t remember reading the other book in the series but I did enjoy this story. I like that it was the guy that falls first. I did enjoy this a great deal.

Priscilla has a plan she just has to wait until her 25th birthday before she can inherut and join her father and grandfather on their adventures in Africa, all she has to do is attend society events, avoid scandal and not marry.

Thad may not be a Lord but he is accepted at the Wicked Dukes Ale House and the ton. He has decided it is time to get married, but with no title he is not everyone's choice of happily ever after.

After a chance meeting at Almacks Thad wonders is Priscilla might be someone he could consider as his happily ever after but Priscilla is adamant that this will never happen.

This was a great book, it was great that Thad wasn't a duke and that Priscilla was a fiesta woman, a definitely good read, regency girlpowet.

I didn't find this one to be immediately engaging, but after it kicked off it was an entertaining read. While nothing stands out as really memorable about the romance, it was still a pleasant way to pass the time.

I adored Thad and Priscilla's story. It was such a fun, interesting and romantic read. I was so happy to see her Grandmother's reaction and personality change at the end.

A delightful take on regency with the Hero searching for romance. The story is a fun read, full of humor and romance—and took us on a romantic adventure.

Loved the Hero

I have read this author for some time and truly enjoy her books. I have read other books in The Wicked Duke series, but not some of these earlier ones. I found this one to be a delight. The hero is so much fun. He's just a decent “mister” (not a lordling) who believes in romance and true love even though he didn't witness it firsthand with his parents. He keeps showing up at society events hoping to find The One. He's kind and gracious... and perhaps a little naïve about true love and romance. In other words, he's a total sweetie and an utterly swoon-worthy hero. Our heroine has an agenda as well, needing to stay in the society mix without making a match so she can inherit and be independent. The meet-cute was funny and charming—and you could certainly see the interest on his part right away. The author imbues this book with a fair amount of humor—which I would call a hallmark of this author's writing style. If you like a well-written Regency that's a little different from the normal with a sweet, unjaded hero, you may enjoy this book as much as I did.

Thaddeus Middleton is on the hunt for a wife , one more interested in him than in money .
Priscilla Weatherby will inherit a fortune… provided she remains unwed and scandal-free .
In this book our heroine is the one running from love , whilst our hero is the sweet one , dreaming of romance .
The book was one of sweet romance along with fiery kisses where two souls finally realise they are perfect for each other .

I was gin an arc of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I received a copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review. #WickedDukes #NetGalley
-The author is utterly poetic when comes Thad & Priscilla's most fiery kiss: "With him, she felt more at home than she ever did in the house she grew up in... He was passion and movement and color and excitement and adventure."
-Thad reminds me of Norm Peterson on Cheers: "he spent so much time in the same chair in the same corner of the same place". Thad really likes his beer, but especially at the Wicked Dukes'.
-Priscilla made a great effort of disappearing in the walls with her dresses. The irony of it: she was at the Marriage Mart but didn't want to get caught in marriage. LOL.
-It is tragic how she waits all her life for people to love her and to miss her and to enjoy being in her presence.
-Thad is a first-rate romantic and a good guy all around . It is so not funny how he gets his hope up and down and down again. But he has perseverance and imagination and both work for him to get Priscilla for an HEA.
-I was clapping my hands when the scene with the father appeared. I was also clapping my hands at the epilogue where the grandmother is part of a new family. Priscilla really took charge of her life and I really applaud that.

I have always loved reading Erica Ridleys work, and this time was no exception. I will admit that the main male character Thad was very sweet and definitely the romantic type. To me he almost didn't fit as the hero because he was so sweet, I am used to the men being the ones that need to have their heads shook a bit to realize that they are in love. That being said I adored him, I have never met a man like him lol, but I sure want to! In this book the heroine Priscilla is the one more or less running from love, and it just makes for a great read. I would for sure recommend reading One Night of Passion, as well as the others in the Wicked Dukes Club Series.

I adored Thad and Priscilla! Thad was so sweet and I loved that he wasn’t a lord or super rich. I also loved how much he loved love! It was a refreshing change from the dark brooding hero who runs from love. Priscilla was sweet and I felt sad for her. I loved Koffi and Wednesday too. An enjoyable read!

This was a sweet romance between Priscilla, who is determined not to get married but join her father on his adventures when she turns 25, and Thaddeus, a hopeless romantic who believes n love at first sight and set out to find "the One". Priscilla, of course, could not be her! And yet he can not stay away from her. And she struggles more and more to really want him out of her life.

Erica Ridley pops out one enjoyable romance after the other, I have yet to come across one I did not like. While this was not my favorite I sure liked it a lot!

Thad and Priscilla's story was great, interesting story line and lots of angst, with some heartbreak thrown in the mix. It was sad watching these two pine for each other, but wonderful watching her realize he was what she really wanted.

Lifelong romantic Thaddeus Middleton is on the hunt for a wife. He hopes to find a woman more attracted to him than to money. Instead, he finds himself drawn to a spitfire who isn’t interested in him at all! At least, that’s what she says when she’s not kissing him beneath the stars.
I really enjoyed this story and am really enjoying this new series. I liked both main characters a lot. I read through it rather quickly. I highly recommend.

In order to fulfill her dream she swears off marriage and love. Her only goal is to get to 25 unmarried so she can cash on her inheritance. That is until Thaddeus comes into her life. Will she give up the love of her life for a life of adventure exploring the world, or settle for sharing a life with Thaddeus.

I actually read this a while ago, not long after i promised not to be so quick to read another (so sue me!).

Priscilla Weatherby has a plan – to get to her age of maturity without getting married, so that she can inherit the money her father has left for her, so that she can become the worldwide traveler she has always dreamed off. Both her Father and Grandfather are off in “foreign parts” being adventurers, but apparently the money left to her by her father comes with Terms and Conditions – she must not hide away until she reaches 25 and her majority and she needs to frequent “The marriage mart”, not ruin her reputation and can tell nobody about the trust.

Partway though the season she meets Thad, who would be exactly marriage material, if that’s what she was looking for. Both of them hit it off, and it turns out that both of them like each other (when talking to his sister, he describes her as “the one”, in only she was stopped cutting him off). However, she keeps him at arms length, both to prevent a marriage arrangement, but believing that he would curtail her travels.

Meanwhile she is living in the same house as her grandmother, a rather prickly old woman, apparently unable to accept the seemingly good wishes that her granddaughter sends her way. Grandmother is seemingly intent on her finding a good match before her 25th birthday, and is constantly on her case as to finding a good man.

Finally, the two of them cant resist each other, and come to an “arrangement” as to what is supposed to happen next. However, there is a fly in the plan. Priscilla’s father returns for various reasons (none to do with his daughter) and Priscilla gets a cold awakening…..The £10,000 on her 25th birthday was an off the cuff remark he doesn’t remember making and certainly hasn’t prepared for. Grandmother has always been well aware of the son’s wanton behaviour, and was pressing for Priscilla to get married, knowing the money would never materialise.

Luckily, Thad and Priscilla already have the people they really want, including Grandmother, and it’s not long before everything is sorted out in the best possible way (Priscilla’s father really hasnt got a leg to stand on)

I received with thanks an ARC copy of One Night of Passion from WebMotion and Netgalley.

This is my review of One Night of Passion by Erica Ridley. This was published on 14th May 2019
Another stunning romance by the one of best historical romance authors Erica Ridley. The characters in this novella were wondering and enjoyable to read about. This has everything you could want from a historical romance novel. Headstrong and independent heroines and passionate romance.

Would recommend if you love a historical romance
