Ms. Anshaw paints a wonderfully detailed and engagingly chronicled story of life, tragedy, and resiliency. The characters variety and depth allow the reader to emotionally connect on many levels while the narrative builds the plot and captures the reader accordingly. Possibly the end will leave you wanting more answers, but, I kind of like filling in some of the possibilities with my own projections. Either way, this book warrants my first 5 star review in a while- I didn't want to put it down!

REVIEW
Carol Anshaw’s Right after the Weather is a meditation on life in contemporary America. It’s about the way lives can intersect and the opportunities and repercussions of those intersections. Cate is spinning her wheels. She’s finally ready to get out of her rut when her world comes crashing down by a stunning act of violence. It’s about really confronting who you are when tested.
PRAISE
“Right after the Weather is about the terrifying discoveries we make—about ourselves, about the world—when the membrane separating civilization from barbarity is torn. Carol Anshaw has a genius for rendering life on the page, for characters and situations as ferociously complicated as reality. She is a master.” -Garth Greenwell, author of What Belongs to You
