Dallas and Ashley are prickly characters who clash at most turns. The synopsis was attention grabbing. The story had interesting moments, but unfortunately overall did not hold this reader’s interest. There was so much anger amongst the character’s, notably Dallas’s siblings. This constant anger was unpleasant and made for a topsy turvy read.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Ashley is a struggling single mom working many jobs with the excitement of receiving a home from House of Hope for her and her daughter. Dallas is a man forced to serve community service with House of Hope. He is not an easy man and has some family struggles. Can the two of them overcome all the past hurts and struggles that may try to keep them apart?
Great read and a HEA ending.

I loved Dallas and Ashley’s story. Both characters seemed quite real - they were good people but both flawed and interesting but without over the top drama. The story had a lot of supporting detail and even the supporting characters sketched out to give a hint of things to come. I look forward to the stories of the other Granger brothers and the unraveling of the mysterious woman who dropped their dad at the hospital.

"This is a good story, I thought it was well written but at times I did think that there was a little too much detail and that spoiled the excellent flow the author had created.

I thought that the characters were strong and they worked well together and I enjoyed it very much overall. It is four stars from me for this one - highly recommended!"

Poor guy. This is a classic comedy of errors.

What does he have against charity work?

Well, who else was supposed to raise them, Daddy Dearest? They should be kissing his feet.

Classy, Cam.

Attaboy, Ryker.

Nice, Eugene.

She volunteers, too?

She's younger than I am. She deserves a life.

Aw, good job!

Honestly. I don''t blame her. I was thinking the teacher was doing something inappropriate.

Amen, brother.

Who didn't see that coming a mile away?

I want to know about the mistress/possible daughter.

Ashley is a hardworking, devoted single Mom to Brittany. She works many jobs just to make the bills each month. When she signs on for House of Hope program to get a home for herself and her daughter she has one more job to do, help build what would be her forever home. This puts her on the path to meeting Dallas Granger a local man who runs a construction company, and former rancher. You'll feel like your right in the middle of this wonderful romance! This was a book I didn't want to put down and am wishing I could keep reading about the future of Dallas and Ashley!

So this is an author I have read and enjoyed before, but wow the feelings these pages made me feel, from the overwhelming responsibility of a new mom looking into her baby’s eyes through the crib bars to the pride of a homeless man feels doing a good job as he volunteers to help build a home for this mon and her now teenage daughter, with each page I’m pulled in and feeling the story.
This is a book I will be recommending to friends so they can feel the joys and pains of the pages as I did.

Cowboy Up by Michelle Beattie.
A great start to a new series The Tangled up in Texas series.
I enjoyed the characters especially the storyline between the main characters Dallas and Ashley.
Look forward to see what the rest of the series brings to us.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a very enjoyable book to read. I had a lot of respect for Ashley as she raised her daughter to age 16 with no help from her family and no significant other. Ashley works multiple jobs and has been chosen to get one of the Houses of Hope, requiring her to put in lots of hours to build it.. Dallas, like Ashley lives in San Antonio but is from a ranch in Last Stand. When Dallas is caught with stolen equipment due to his employee, he is given community service to be served at Houses of Hope since he owns a construction company. At the start of the book, Dallas learns his father is very ill and he’s expected to also pitch in and help his brothers on the ranch. Like Ashley, he now has multiple responsibilities. They meet at Houses of Hope and his first impression of her is she is taking advantage of charity. As he gets to know her he realizes how hard she works for what she has. They both have reservations about the other one. Over time, their chemistry builds and they fall in love. Also, going on are the interactions with Dallas and his brothers as they resent that he hasn’t been at home for a long time and they disagree a lot. Their relationships are strained and he has to work on forging good ones. The story and its subplots are very enjoyable to rad. I would recommend this book.

COWBOY UP by Michelle Beattie is a single mom romance. Dallas is a successful contractor running his own business. Ashley's busy working multiple jobs, supporting herself and her 16 year old daughter. They meet in the jobsite where 'Houses of Hope' is building a home for Ashley. Dallas is assigned community service working on the home. They've both been hurt in the past. When Dallas has to help at his family ranch because his Father has a heart attack. Dallas is forced to come to terms with the past. Questions remain in this story and I look forward to the next book in the series!

Packed with emotional turmoil, and heartfelt moments of self acceptance, you’ll be pulled into Dallas and Ashely’s story from the onset...there is nothing predictable about their story, some aspects may even catch you by surprise, once you delve into their life’s stories, you’ll be hard pressed to do anything but cheer them on to their HEA.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Dallas is the oldest of 5 brothers from a small ranch in Texas. He owns a construction company in San Antonio, and meets single mom Ashley at a home being built for her (think Habitat for Humanity). I enjoyed this one for the most part, but a lot of the build up and angst is quickly forgotten and forgiven. It seems odd if it sparks such strong emotion that it would dissipate so fast. Just saying, but was a distraction for me. Other than that, I enjoyed this one, as it is the first in the series, and look forward to some of the other brothers' stories, and possibly a half sister in the rumors started here are true. Would recommend.

Dallas left his family ranch after being forced into running it at a young age. He developed his own construction company and was happy. He finds himself in legal trouble after an employee steals equipment and is found in one of Dallas’s company trucks. When doing community service, he meets Ashley and is attracted quickly but unsure of her character initially. When his father has medical complications, Dallas is again forced to help with the ranch and to deal with his family issues. The story has an HEA which is reached quickly. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The story of Dallas and Ashley.

Single mother Ashley is doing all she can to keep going, and working towards at last getting her own house.

Dallas meets her when he ends up doing community service - he looks down on her until he realises what a strong person she is.

Entertaining read.

Ashley is a single mom with a sixteen-year-old daughter. She has worked multiple jobs for years in order to support her daughter. Dallas owns his own construction company, but built up walls after his mother’s death and a betrayal by his former fiancé. Their first meeting didn’t go well - in fact it couldn’t have gone much worse. In spite of that, they were both attracted to the other. Can two people with vastly different lives and trust issues make a relationship work? Maybe, if Dallas cowboys up!
