I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know why I couldn't just get into this. The pictures were bright and the text was fine, but it just didn't draw me in.

An awful nonsense storyline with sub-par illustrations. No characters talk like that. The bright colours and the smudged-like bold black font really hurt my eyes and was difficult to see. Not for me.

With 3 young kids we have a lot of kids books here, this one didn't do it for me unfortunately, however my kids might enjoy it.

I love the idea behind the book. At first I had a problem with the illustrations. They seem cartoonish and garish. Then I realized that those were the reasons they would appeal to kids. I really appreciated that the author resisted the temptation to give the animals cute names. I wonder how well the slang used in the book will hold up, but the meaning seems pretty clear in the way it is used, so it wouldn't keep me from buying the book.

I am Cool by author Gretchen Petterway is a really great educational book for kids! My daughters loved reading this (over and over again)! It teaches about compassion and how everyone is different but also very alike (in a fun way!) I would absolutely recommend this book to other parents and children!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of I am Cool in exchange for an honest review.

Nice story about differences and teaching about difference for children, simplistic but I assume aimed at much younger readers. Cute illustrations and a nice tone.
