My thoughts

Would I recommend it? yes

Will I read more by this author? yes

Just like the first one it pulled me into the story, and had me hooked, other than I liked about it was where the author talks about what the flowers and what they mean as well as their true name , and there's lots of characters that seem to be hindening something that has to do with the victim , and though out the story it keeps you guessing on who could of done it and why . With that said I want to say think you to Netgalley for letting me read and review it .

And the story continues with great characters and engaging events.
More twists and turns, more moments where i thought i knew what will come or what will happen but i was surprised to find that i didn't know anything. I'm looking forward to more stories by the author.

I found this book tough to get through. It wasn't fully for me. I will read more from the author but this wasn't a great example of detective fiction.

This is the second book in the Pippa Durrant series and new author for me. The background is a garden center and the characters are easy to know and will hold your attention.
The body a man who has been strangled is found when the Garden Center opened one morning and all the plants and equipment have been destroy. As the investigation by the Homicide detective, Joe Swain starts the secrets of the Gower family begin to unravel, they have garden that is locked and no one is allowed into, the except, the owner who is the botanist for the Garden Center. Joe feel the that the family and close friends needs the help of a psychologist and calls Dr. Pippa into consult. The killer is using the meaning of flowers to send a message, a black rose means death.
Will Pippa find the answer of victims before she joins the victims in death.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

Fatal Flowers will have your head spinning!! Just when I thought I had it all figured out Miranda Rinks would throw in a twist or turn that would have me second guessing everything and I couldn't have loved it more… OMG! You will become completely consumed with the series !!

A family suspense drama. Set around a family that runs a flower nursery. One day a body shows up. Is it a friend or stranger? Some characters you love the others you want to slap. Good for a weekend read

I was really impressed with this book. I do enjoy thrillers and this one was good. The writing was great and it flowed nicely with the story. The beginning had me hooked but it did get a little slow in some parts. But I would definitely recommend this book.

One of my new favorite books! This author has such a way with words the pages flew by in no time! I can’t wait to see the next work by this author! This was such a joy to read!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

I loved that this was fast paced read that I really enjoy reading.

Pippa human lie detector and she back to solve another case.

When a murder happen at the garden center the police turns to Pippa for help and when she start a digging ahe learns that the Gower family who owns garden center have deadly secrets they want to stay buried.

I like how the killer uses flowers as calling card and when Pippa receive one is she the next victim. Even though I don't really like romance in a mystery thriller books Pippa and Joe budding romance seem ok to me because it wasn't the focus of the book.

A very easy read, the first half of the book was gripping but then it seemed to drift. Enjoyed it none the less and was quite surprised when the murderer was revealed

"Fatal Flowers" by Miranda Rijks

I have read that author many times, I love her!

Dr Pippa Durrant is back to help solve a murder...

I really like the Pippa character. I especially enjoy the parts of her analyzing people's behavior, the way people, suspects, act, behave, where they look, what's happening on their face, their body language... A real human lie detector. I find that really interesting!

Interesting story, good plot, good characters, good pace, not boring!

Also, I didn't know flowers had meanings, I do now.

I can't wait to read the next book!

Pippa Durrant, the 'notorious' human lie detector is back! And this time she's embroiled in a brutal murder case in a garden center. I knew I had to read this book because I love my green plant friends and also because I found the plot very intriguing - using flowers to warn someone. I laughed it off at first, presuming it to be silly, but I was wrong. But the book is really good! I found Fatal Fortune hardly memorable, but this one supersedes its prequel.

I also like the way Miranda opens the books with a sinister prologue. I found this mystery to be fast-paced and very interesting. I'm also glad to see subplots of Pippa-Joe, Pippa-George progress slowly and steadily. These were portrayed very well. I didn't see as much of Mungo as I'd have liked, but that hardly is the point. There was a lot on floriography that I also found very interesting.
Thank You, NetGalley, Inkubator Books & Miranda Rijks for an arc!

While I didn't really like the first book, there were aspects I liked and wanted to give the series another try. Unfortunately, this second book didn't change my opinion. I couldn't connect with the characters. While I really want to see the human lie detector aspect play more into the story, it just doesn't quite get there.

This is a very well written mystery, with a very good plot and characters. A little while into the story, it might seem a little slow, but please keep on because it's full of twists and turns all the way. The only problem I have with the book is the POV. I believe the first person point of view should be used only in certain instances, and here it's even changing every chapter from first to third, and that's a big no-no.

I found this book to be a quick read. In fact despite finding myself not initially enjoying the book, I found that I wanted to finish it, and couldn't put it down. Its a perfect holiday read. A little implausible and sometimes predictable at times, its filled with both likable and unlikable characters.

I read the first title in this series and although I appreciated the writing, I could not believe the relationships between the characters. I wanted to give the author another chance, so I read this, the second in the series, i found it to be implausible and the characters artificial. Obviously I am in the minority, as the author has many fans.
