Author Jennifer Beckstrand wrote an amazing novel. Andrew is a book that kept my interest and also made me feel different emotions. Andrew is an enjoyable, delightful book. I believe this is my first book I've read by Author Jennifer Beckstrand, but it will not be my last. Andrew is a terrific book and I encourage everyone to read it. It's first in a new series by this author. Andrew is Book One in The Petersheim Brothers series.

Jennifer Beckstrand's new series is going to be popular! In the first book, Andrew, we are introduced to a family of boys who make peanut butter to sell. Two of the boys are a set of rambunctious twins who seem to have trouble as their middle names! Due to a recent stroke, their grandfather comes to live with them along with their grandmother. The twins must give up their bedroom and are relegated to the cellar. They devise a plan to get their older brothers married so they ca have their room back. Their oldest brother Andrew is first on their list. Their choice for Andrew is a former Amish girl, who jumped the fence into the Englisch world, and returned home pregnant and disgraced. Andrew is a rule follower so this choice of a young lady does nothing but ruffle his feathers. And so the fun begins...
This story has great dynamics and well developed characters. Beckstrand's humor runs throughout the story and lightens up what could be a somber topic. Loved seeing things through a male characters perspective! A truly great read!

I’ve recently discovered a love for Amish fiction and found Jennifer Beckstrand’s delightful books, particularly any centered in Huckleberry Hill, a small village in Wisconsin. When I stumbled upon Ms. Beckstrand’s new romance, book one in the Petersheim Brothers series. I immediately requested it on Net-Galley, and the publisher was kind and approved my request. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Andrew is a delightful Amish romance with engaging characters and a heartfelt plot. The pacing is excellent and kept me enthralled from the first page. It was such a delight when a secondary character, Bitsy, from one of previous Amish books by Ms. Beckstrand is in this one. I love it when an author brings well-loved characters into a new story.

Mary Coblenz is a young Amish girl who jumped the fence. She’s now an unwed, pregnant nineteen-year-old and has returned to her village. Her reception is not good. Her parents refuse her entrance into her family home. My heart ached immediately for her. Enters the eccentric Bitsy, who welcomes her with open arms. My heart went out to Mary. Her ex-boyfriend had betrayed her trust, and now her family has turned her back on her. Without Bitsy, she would have been homeless.

Two mischievous eight-year-old twins enter her life, along with their elder brother, and they turn her world upside down. At first, Andrew is very judgmental of Mary’s dilemma and believes she has earned his scorn and many of the others in their community. The twins feel differently and want him to marry so they don’t have to stay in the cellar any more. Mary seems perfect for their plans. After all, Andrew would gain a ready-made family!

At first, Andrew comes across a bit sanctimonious, but a good young man at heart, he realizes he’s judged Mary unfairly without really knowing her. I enjoyed his change of heart, which shows the goodness of his soul. I also loved his patience with his rambunctious brothers.

As with most Amish romances, the love between them grows from the friendship between the couple. I believe that’s what I like best in this genre. The couples normally don’t even kiss. At most, they hold hands and sneak glances at each other in a most innocent way. Indicative of long-ago times. That’s the case with Andrew and Mary. They clearly are falling in love. Of course, Mary is scared of their growing feelings, and Andrew is a bit clueless. Fortunately, it all come together in the end in a most enjoyable way for this reader!

If you enjoy Amish romance with wonderful characters from the hero and heroine to the cast of secondary ones as well, you will love Andrew. I can’t wait to read Abraham, which is the second book in this amazing new series. Happy reading!

I loved Alfi, Bitzy, and Benji, they hand down were my favorite characters they added a element to the story. This story has your emotions all over the place for sure. The author has you laughing, crying and wanting to punch someone all in the same chapter. I love how strong and stubborn Mary was she had a way of just shining off the pages. Andrew is one I had a love/hate relationship with some moments I wanted to hate him and then he would do something and I would love. I really loved how the author did not try and make the Amish these perfect people that some authors do, because of that the story makes it feel like I’m catching up with friends instead of fictional people. I really liked everything about this book. I loved that it was a good clean read and perfect for all, and that you find yourself not wanting to put it down. I hope there is more to come with this fun family, I really can’t imagine what the twins will cook up next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. If you love a light, happy read, with fun characters, you will really enjoy this great match-matching book by Jennifer Beckstrand. This author seems to have lots of fun reads that are really enjoyable.

I love the story line of Mary Coblenz a teenager who jumped the fence and comes home pregnant and no longer accepted by her parents. She goes to Aunt Bitsy for help. Aunt Bitsy is a somewhat unorthodox Amish person and that makes her character even more fun. It's a very entertaining read and teaches some great lessons on forgiving, not being judgmental and what family is all about. I love Andrew's little brothers as they plot to find a match for him.

Very worth reading and leaves you feeling good!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It takes a woman, who feels she has committed an unforgivable sin, and a man, who stands in judgement, and brings them full circle. The trials and tribulations of learning that the only judgement is God's and He forgave all of us long ago. The biggest hurdle we face, on this earth, is finding forgiveness within ourselves. So goes this story....a journey of reaching forgiveness of self and others. It is full of the antics of 8 year old twin brothers who are trying to get their older brother, Andrew, married off so that they can return to an upstairs bedroom.....instead of having to make a bedroom, in the basement!! And as anyone, who has had sons or brothers, know.....they are relentless when on a mission. This novel encompasses many emotions, through it's story line. You will laugh, be sad, be given pause for thought and smile, as things get topsy turvy. An all around good read which make for a pleasant "time away" from our busyness of every day life!! Highly recommend and know you will not be disappointed

This is such a delightful book! I received the ARC on Netgalley and will for sure add this book to my Jennifer Beckstrand collection at home as soon as it is published. This will be a three book series about 3 older brothers and a set of 8 year old twins. The twins are hilarious and cute with their little antics and way of thinking about things. The twins decide to set up one of their older brothers (Andrew) with someone they think he should marry..simply because they want his bedroom. Therefore, they want him to move out. You will enjoy this book so much! Make sure to check out the other books by this author. They are really a fun way to spend reading a book. I laughed and laughed with all of them.

Bitsy is back, ornery as every, but with such love in her heart. The twins are hilarious with all their antics but show true Christian love. This is not the usual Amish story which will make readers love it even more. I love that Mary, even through all that she'd been through she still shows a cheerful spirit. Andrew provides a teachable theme as he learns to be more Christ-like and not so rule abiding. Very enjoyable story. It will be hard to wait until the twins cool up a scheme for the next brother. Highly recommended!!

Andrew by Jennifer Beckstrand is book one in the Petersheim Brothers series. The older brothers, along with their mother, run a peanut butter business. Due to the business, they have earned the nickname, The Peanut Butter Brothers.
Recently their grandparents have had to move in with the family due to the grandfather having a stroke. The youngest brothers, 8 year old twins, have had to move their room to the cellar. That is when the plotting, or I should say, fun begins. The only way to get out of the cellar in their eyes, is to marry one of the older boys off.
Enter Mary, a fence jumper, who returns home after leaving to see what the English world holds. The only thing is, she is pregnant by her former English boyfriend. The twins decide Mary is perfect for Andrew and set out on a quest involving binoculars, walkie talkies, and a bit of orneriness to get them together.
Anyone who reads Amish Fiction this is a must read. If you haven't read any, this would be a prefect start. The characters and setting are likeable. You get Amish life, family, romance, and humor. You may want some peanut butter and pretzels by the end.

Jennifer Beckstrand's newest series, The Petersheim Brothers, is sure to be a lot of fun. I spent much of my time while reading the first one, Andrew, laughing out loud. Between the antics of twin eight year olds Alfie and Benji, Bitsy's shotgun, and almost every communication between Andrew and Mary, the book is delightful. The story focuses on Andrew, a young Amish man in the peanut butter business with his family. His real passion is woodworking though. When his twin brothers decide they need to get their bedroom back after family moves in with them, Andrew becomes their plan. They will marry him off.... and they plan to marry him off to Mary, a young pregnant girl who recently moved back to the community. Mary has faced hardship since returning, and Andrew and her do not see eye to eye on many things. However, with some patience, some mishaps, and a lot of love, the two just might find that sometimes what you need is not what you were looking for.

Andrew by Jennifer Beckstrand is a most delightful contemporary Amish novel and the first book in The Petersheim Brothers series. I cannot wait for the subsequent books.
Whenever I pick up a Jennifer Beckstrand book I know that I will be in for a real treat and Andrew is no exception. Revisiting familiar faces from The Honeybee Sisters series, I settled down into known territory. Once again Bitsy imparted her wisdom “Boys are like stray cats. If you feed them once, they keep coming back.” There is an air of light-heartedness over the whole book even though there are some serious themes.
The characters are delightfully drawn. I loved the eight year old match making twin brothers who got into amusing scrapes and had hearts of gold. Their perception and love went beyond their years. All the main characters radiated love even though some tried to keep it at bay. One of my favourite lines was “Bitsy isn’t afraid to love people who don’t fit in.” This speaks volumes about her character who gives unconditional love. This reminds the reader of our Father God who loves us unconditionally, no matter what we’ve done, no matter where we’ve been God’s love remains.
The main theme is that of forgiveness. We all need to receive it and dispense it. We are often our own worst critics. “Jesus has forgiven you. You should forgive yourself.” If God has forgiven us (and He has) then we must forgive ourselves or be guilty of hubris. We all mess up at times but must not stay down in our pit.
The novel is about new beginnings and second chances. We must all decide what is really important. We all have choices to make – for good or bad – we must live with the consequences of our choices.
The Amish are a people who are community minded. The reader has a glimpse into their world and ‘feels’ included.
Andrew was such a delightful read, full of true pearls of wisdom. I would like to leave you with my favourite:
“Only God could forgive [her]. [His] job was to behave like a Christian and show forth love.”

I always enjoy a nice Amish fiction especially when it has an inspirational message. Book one, Andrew, in author Beckstrand’s new series is an absolute delight! This contemporary Amish novel is heavily laced with inspiration and life lessons. It has light romance, humor, a bit of intrigue, and is so well written it is hard to put down.

Author Beckstrand is a storyteller deluxe. The Petersheim Family was filled with older boys (men) and a pair of rambunctious eight year old twins. Paternal grandparents had just moved in adding to the frenzy with an ever “helpful” mother-in-law.

I enjoyed the writer’s style. The pace was great, not rush or sluggish. The conversations sounded authentic. There was plenty of dialog which I like. The characters were so well described I felt like I knew them. My heart went out to Mary and then to Andrew. I could imagine them easily and feel their emotions.

The secondary characters were, well characters! I could see a book being written about many of them. Mammi was a typical mother-in-law wanting to help by setting things up her way. Jerry was a fireman that has a secret, Aunt Bitsy has a bunch of cats and blue hair, and so many others.

This is very entertaining but it is also an inspiration book with life lessons. It deals with choices, hypocrisy, judging, family issues, illness, love, trust, even abortion. Scripture is heavily quoted and mention of what would Jesus do. In fact, a lot of the book discusses the difference in helping someone verses judging them. To say this was a thought provoking read is and understatement. It has stayed with me weeks later.

I was astonished by how forthright the author was in taking on hypocrites. It is a topic everyone should read about and address. This book will give readers a lot to ponder. It might even change some attitudes.

This gets a glowing recommendation from me. Everyone should read this book. I am eagerly awaiting book two and the issues it will tackle. This book gets a 5 out of 5 stars for the lessons it teaches. We should all take them to heart.

This is an awesome book. I read it at a time I was sad and emotionally down. I had read Home on Huckleberry hill by Jennifer Beckstrand which I absolutely loved and which I found funny so I decided to read this one. It was the best decision. This has everything a good story should have and I recommend it for anyone who reads Christian romance,

So Alfie and Benji have been sent to the cellar and they want their room back. They decide to get their older brothers out of the house by making them fall in love. First target is Andrew. Well the girl they have lined up for him is Mary who had left the community with an Englischer and has now returned home unmarried and pregnant.
Absolutely loved the twin Alfie and Benji. Aunt Bitsy who takes Mary in is another wonderful character. Mary has to hold her head high in a place where people think she has not been punished sufficiently for her sin and want to make her life miserable. Andrew wants to do the right thing always but finds out that sometimes we have to do right by ourselves too.

He is a single Amish man with twin younger brothers, who are determine to play matchmaker. They find Mary and pick her for their older brother. This is when the plot really begins. Will their matchmaking backfire?
I have enjoyed Jennifer Beckstrand's books in the past and Andrew is no different. I really liked this wonderful and heartwarming story of forgiveness, redemption, faith, inspiration, grace, hope and having second choices. I loved Mary from the start. I admired your bravery dealing with the community. I was not sure about Andrew at first but he grew on me.
I am giving Andrew four and a half stars. I look forward to the second addition from The Petersheim Brothers series, Abraham. I recommend this one for readers who enjoy clean Amish fiction.

Andrew is a sweet love story written by Jennifer Beckstrand in her new series The Petersheim Brothers. This story grabs the readers interest from the first few pages and leaves you in awe of treatment rendered to a young Amish woman. This storyline is unique for many reason. I experienced several emotions while reading this book sadness, laughter, remorse, and most of all love.

The characters that the author introduces in this book are fantastic. Mary is a young Amish woman who is returning to her community after 2 years and rejected by her own parents. Mary is a strong, independent, and determined mother to be. Andrew who considers himself to be a good Christian man has to rethink his attitude. There is also Andrew's twin 8 year old brothers Alfie and Benji whose antics will keep you in stitches. Last but not least Aunt Bitsy is back. She will definetly keep you on the edge of your chair with her I don't care attitude. I enjoyed all of these characters and they really kept the story moving right along. The author has really created just the right selection of characters to tell her story.

This book was so very good!! Except that we can do without Aunt Bitsy's gun of course! I'd hate to be greeted with that thing!! But, once she puts it down and let's u get to know her, she's really a very wonderful woman. A bit unusual but that's what I love about her!! I like different. It took me a long time to learn that different is good.
I wouldn't want to be like everyone else! I'm glad Aunt Bitsy is back!! She's my favorite person next to Anna and Felty Helmuth!
The twins were my favorite and I laughed at their antics!! What boys will do!! They made me laugh until I cried. But, I hated it when they got punished for trying to help or what they thought was helping people.
Now, Andrew is another story. I thought he was kind of two faced at first by not wanting to help Caroline in public but then turning around to help her in private. That was very wrong.
Sometimes we do make mistakes in life and Caroline's was a very big mistake but I think she learned her lesson the hard way as we sometimes are want to do. However, I did like her immediately because I felt the community judged her. Judge not unless we're to be judge accordingly to God. In other words we have no right to judge others. We're supposed to help no matter what the circumstances that brought us into this position..
I could say more about this book but I don't want to end up giving anything away! I can't wait for y'all to read this book!! It's full of mischief, love and family

This is a story that will make you sit on the edge of your seat until the book is finished and wanting for more!
I highly recommend this book for everyone who love the Amish and I love that they want to be in the world and not of it. I think we could learn very special lessons from them! They know how to live off the land in hard times as well as good.

This book is so good! I fell in love with the twins, those two boys are something else. This is a book that will make you laugh out loud in spots. This is a fun, sweet read that also has a lesson about forgiveness and how God is always with us. I can't wait for the next book in this series. What a cute story!!
Amazing what a little forgiveness and grace can do for us. Jennifer Beckstrand weaved a great story dealing with the subject of an unwed mother who is Amish (Which you don't hear of often, even though I am sure it happens). Armed with a pair of rambunctious twins and an older brother who feels responsible for them this story has no end of mischief and woe. Jennifer Beckstrand gave a good story with quite a few laughs throughout and expressed the reasons for needing to forgive and extend grace rather then shun very well. The only thing I couldn't believe was how a mom could be that slow to catch on (you'll understand when you read it) but it turned out quite well in the end.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars for the creative twins who somehow managed to steal the story.

Andrew is the first book of the Petersheim brothers series. Andrew is the oldest of five brothers. I loved this story because throughout the story Andrew, who has everything figured out, learns that maybe he doesn't have everything figured out after all. All of his life things have been a certain way, and after he meets Mary he begins to question everything. Wonderful clean story and I can't wait for the next one!

Mary came from Green Bay alone, and pregnant, so she jumped the fence a few years ago. Still Mother wouldn’t let her in. Getting to Bitsy, a former woman of the English, she did, with warm muffins and cold milk. Asking if her parents would be upset if she took her in, and smile at the answer. Her home needed a baby, and the town needed the gossip, and she herself loves to be gossiped about.
We have two young boys, whose Mother saying it would be an adventure to sleep in the clellar. She played a trick on them Alfie thought, it smelled like old socks and mold. Mold they were told wasn’t good for them. The grandparents were living with them now and had their bedroom. To solve and get upstairs in house again, was to marry off Andrew. Andrew wasn’t much for it, Mary wouldn’t repent, headstrong. The scheming of younger boys. The lessons in forgiving and helping others when the need is there.
