Twisted story with complex characters and secrets from high school. Kept my interest and I didn't figure out who done it till the end.

I wasn't a fan of this book. It's a good story, but it has way too many characters and things going on for a fun/entertaining read.

You will die for . . .
With Cole's help, Kerry sets out to learn the truth about what happened to Nick. But within Edwards Bay is a shocking legacy built on envy and lust--and a secret that has unleashed a killer's unstoppable fury . . .

Wow! This was amazing. What a thrill-ride! I couldn’t put this book down!

It seems almost too simple when they come upon the dead body of Nick. The first assumption is suicide. But it all just seems so wrong. He was so perfect. He had nothing to die for. But when he came back to Edwards Bay he did have something troubling on his mind. Then after Nick’s funeral and much speculation about what might have happened another person in their close knit group labeled the A Team dies. And then another. Why are they being targeted and what does a decades old Top Conquest List have to do with it all?

I truly enjoyed this book. It made me remember when I used to read a lot more of Nancy Bush’s previous work and she has only gotten better with age. This was complex, thrilling and suspenseful. I had no idea who could have done it or what was even going on. So many secrets are buried in this book. I marvel at how an author can tie all the mysterious threads together so perfectly.

My highest recommendation.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Kerry Monaghan’s step-brother is found dead…a victim of an overdose, but Nick was not a known drug user. When another former classmate is found dead, Police Chief Cole Sheffield realizes that a serial killer seems to be settling old scores. Kerry and Cole were an item during their high school years and now will work together to find out why someone is targeting this circle of friends. Will they be able to stop the murders before someone else dies? Could this relate to a high school “list” from so many years ago? I was a little confused as so many characters and relationships were introduced so quickly. Also, as the story went back and forth between the various characters, this was a more difficult book for me to get into and follow. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

I’m always excited when a new title comes out from author Nancy Bush. Bad Things is no exception. It kept me guessing until the explosive end. Great characters and fantastic plot kept me up well into the night jumping at every little sound. Thanks to NetGalley, Nancy Bush and her publisher for letting me read an advanced copy of Bad Things!

I believe that I have read most, if not all, of Nancy Bush's books. None of them were disappointing, including "Bad Things." Even though you may dislike some of them, the characters were portrayed well. Considering all of the characters Ms. Bush introduced, eventually any confusion with them was cleared up.

The plotline was excellent! Who killer Nick Radnor? (and others?) I found myself changing my mind quite a few times wondering who was the murderer, and I was wrong. Twists abound in this great story!

I liked the doctor/patient asides because they "grounded" me to the plot.

As with the rest of Nancy Bush's books, I found this a brilliant read. There were a lot of characters but that just helped the reader to constantly "shift the blame" from one character to another. A great suspense/thriller!

Many Thanks to Kensington Publishing Corp./Zebra Books and NetGalley for one of this summer's best.

I will review this on Amazon June 25. 2019

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review.

I have read some from this author but normally they have been written in conjunction with her sister. Overall I found this book hard to get invested in, their were some many different characters in the book for me it was overload and hard to keep them straight in my mind. I felt the overall plot line was a good one, it was just so busy with all the overlapping characters for my taste. The book did contain lots of twists and turns that I look for in suspense/thrillers.

Nancy Bush is one of my go to authors. I always enjoy reading her thrillers . 'Bad Things' did not disappoint. I did take me a couple of chapters to get invested into the story. I thought I had things figured out halfway into the book, but to my surprise I was wrong. The book is an easy read, very enjoyable on a lazy summer day. Just the right amount of action and romance. I believe this is one of her better books, it was not a predictable as some have been in the past.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book.

Immediately it free Me in and I couldn't put it down! So many twists and turns in this book I couldn't keep up! I thought I guessed this ending maybe half way through! I loved that I was wrong! Wow! I enjoyed this book but it took a long time to find out the horrible truth that everyone alludes to throughout the book. While the past events were terrible, especially for Miami, the fallout years later seemed extreme. The A team is still stuck in high school mentally years later and the mean way they treat each other was off putting. I ended up not really liking any of the characters except for Kerry and Cole. Enjoyable but not my favorite book by Nancy Bush.

Let’s get something out of the way first.

I’m reading an ARC of this one. Hopefully, by the time this is published someone will step in and say NO and remove this. But right now, at about 64%, the author decides to give us a completely-unnecessary-to-the-story Latino laborer who for some reason speaks in a completely offensive and phonetically offensive accent. For no reason whatsoever. I’m really hoping that this misstep is removed prior to this being published. Example: He talks to “Keree” about “Safetee” and then says it’s about “Queeting time”. It was terrible.

So, totally offensive bit of random badly handled diversity aside, this was actually a good read.

It’s a beach read, but it deals very well with toxic masculinity, the #metoo movement, violence against women, rape, etc. The baddie took me completely by surprise. It was a good choice and it worked.

Honestly, I was thoroughly enjoying this until 64% and then it took me a bit to get back into the story.

Overall a good read. But the publisher, writer & editor need to talk to someone about what’s okay and not okay when it comes to diversity.

I still give this 4 stars for most of the book, but it grates a bit.

While this was a good story it read too closely like her sister's book. Paranoid. I happen to like both of their writing so it wasn't too hard for me to dive right into this Story. I loved the dynamic between the characters and Kerry & Cole might need another story as well as Josie.

All in all a good summer read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Bad Things by Nancy Bush that I read and reviewed.
I loved this book by Nancy Bush once I got use to the writing style that she used in this book. The characters were all engaging and I loved how they all had so much history that played such a large part of the story. This was one of those books that as a reader you had no idea who the killer was until the final reveal and then you still had to wrap your mind about why they did all the "bad things" they did in the book and Bush did a fabulous job with that is this book.
I am giving Bad Things five out of five stars.

Nancy Bush is an author I always have on never ending book wish list. I have always loved reading her books in the past. Unfortunately, this one just didn't cut it. I had to restart from the beginning a couple of times as I found it really difficult to get started and into the book. I didn't connect to (nor really like) any of the characters and really found myself not really caring about what was happening.

Thank you #netgalley and #kensingtonbooks for the eARC.

Kerry Monaghan has just returned to Edwards Bay to help her step father. Her step brother Nick dies and Kerry wants answers. Cole, the chief of police is her ex fiancé and Kerry will have to face old memories to get to the answer.

This book was very slow at the beginning and hard to get into. There were a lot of unlikable characters, and I had trouble keeping them straight. This author is on my must read shelf, but I was disappointed in this book. Tho this was far from my favorite book, I will read future books by this author. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I really was disappointed with this book. This was not the usual Nancy Bush book. There was soo many unanswered questions and it was confusing. The story build up to these different secrets and in the end it was like"Thant was it!"
Kerry Monaghan lives in Edwards Bay and her stepbrother Nick, who is basically the all American boy next door, very successful had returned home for a visit. He gets together with his old classmates , who everyone around town called the A team. Kerry really didn't grow up in Edwards Bay, her mother divorced Nick's dad and they moved away, but Nick and his father Jerry have always treated her as one of their own.
One night while the A team are out having fun around town, Nick went home with a girl named Josie and when she wakes up in the middle of the night she doesn't remember how she got home and how Nick was in bed with her. But as she goes and talks to him she finds him dead, apparent overdose. The whole town cannot believe it. They all think Josie killed him. As days pass another classmate is found dead. The A team act like there is this big secret from their high school days , and some of the men of the group, their father's act like they have their own little secret club as well and there are so many secrets you think are happening, but they are not. Very misleading.

What an incredible thriller! Love this author and literally couldn't tear myself away from this book. Will definitely be reading more.

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nothing particularly psychological or twisty about this novel – it’s pretty lurid and over the top, like a big budget movie about a cop a lady and a killer. To be fair there was nothing in the description and that promised it be any other way, but it wasn’t really for me

Sometimes the truth is not what you really want to hear. Will Kerry find out the truth about her brothers death? Will tthe answers solve anything or make things worse? Will the killer find another victim before everything is solved? Thank you NetGalley.
