I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review

This book as crazypants. The first half a bit slow, then flying of the rails. I just felt tired after. The antiheroine protagonist did win me over it’s her creepy ass self. Solid three

This book was crazy sauce!!!
We are following Martha, who is doing a tv show about her friend’s murder and trying to solve its cold case.
There are a bunch of twists and you really have to pay attention!!!
I really didn’t see some of it coming and it was super creepy. I liked it a lot!
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

"The life she has contributed is about to change; she knows without a shadow of a doubt. And there is nothing she can do about it, not if she is determined to unravel the mystery of Juliet. And she is determined. Whatever it takes, whether Juliet is found dead or alive, Martha has to find out."
This book pulls you in from the first page and doesn't let you go until the very last sentence. Ashdowns writing in this was simply artistry with an absolutely brilliant plot and an unbelievably detailed, complex, yet relatable characters who you both love (Martha) and love to hate (Casey), you could not help but become attached to. It was full of so many twists and turns that my head was spinning! By far one of the best psychological thriller that i have read this year! This was one of those stories that builds and builds with suspense until that unbelievable ending that I did not see coming.
I want to thank netgalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A deliciously creepy slow burn with a great twist at the end. Not as fast-paced as I usually like my mysteries, but I loved it anyway!

You thought you knew someone, but you really don't. People can lie right into your face just by putting up a smile.

Martha, Liv and Juliet were inseparable when they were kids, but after Juliet disappeared, the other two girls drifted apart. The trauma of what happened, the unanswered questions, the guilt and blame, drove them apart. Years on and Martha is preparing to produce a TV show on cold cases, and Juliet’s disappearance is at the top of her list. Maybe now she can finally find out what happened to her friend. But as pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place, Martha learns that she may not have known her friends at all
