The whole time I was reading It’s Not You It’s Him, I felt like I was watching a movie. Everything in this books was so well written and it entertained me so much, that I was seeing pictures and not words.

The book follows Tansy, a 26 year old British woman working in the fashion industry. We see
the good, the bad and the funny things her life offers her. We also get to meet her friends/colleagues:
Adam, her technology « freak » best friend and house mate
Josh, the handsome boy who came back from Australia to start a life,
Felicity, her fashionable and gorgeous colleague.
And Chelsea, Tansy’s mentee, who is a aspiring fashion designer.

I really loved every single character in this book( except someone very rude and very Italian) and I found myself wanting to enter their lives and talk and laugh with them all.

One other major thing I enjoyed in this book, was the diversity. It may not scream rainbows, but there where some characters were that made me like this even more.

Major trigger warning for eating disorders. Our main character has/has one and if you’ve had something similar, I would suggest going in to the book with caution.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book. I found this book to be slow moving up to the halfway point and very hard to maintain focus. The premise seemed interesting at first but the story was predictable and similar to other British rom coms I have read. I did enjoy the friendship between Tansy and Felicity throughout the whole book as well as Tansy and Adam. The book did pick up at the end, which enticed me to finish the book. With a little bit of further editing, I think this story could be a light, feelgood hit.

I had start by thanking net galley and the publisher/ author for providing me with E-ARC of this amazing and hillarious Rom-com/ chic lit. Ah this book is equal part funny and engaging. I had a blast reading it. Our heroine basically had a bad break up and was trying to win back the so called love of her Renzo back. Tansy did some pretty crazy think from stalking him to use Josh along the way to win back her ex boyfriend. But unfirtunately this funny,sarcastic,hardworking and kind girl fell in love with Josh along the way and fell out of love with Renzo( which was long due BTW). I think the matter which led to Renzo and Tansy's breakup was pretty serious and I hated Renzo very much due his personality which plain sucks! One more positive thing about this book was Adam and Tansy's friendship which is to say was awesome! Everyone needs friends like that! And the romantic moments between jost and tansy was enjoyable to say the least. I definately recomment this book. Its a straight up ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐read for me! Hope everyone likes it too.

I could not put this book down!! I was in love from the first page. The main character was someone I want to have coffee with. It was like talking to your girlfriends while reading this book. Amazing work!!

Tansy is heartbroken when Renzo, her boyfriend of six months, breaks up with her. He had spoiled her with his extravagant lifestyle including a weekend away in a suite in Paris and expensive meals out - a lifestyle clearly different then the impoverished one she grew up with. She devises a plan on how to get Renzo back involving her two male roommates. Adam works with Renzo and can provide her with information on where Renzo is spending some of his evenings. Josh, a former classmate, would work well as a "boyfriend" to make Renzo jealous.

The central theme to the book revolves around Tansy's impoverished childhood and her current lack of financial stability. She has a big heart and sacrifices a tremendous amount for those around her who are trying to make a better life for themselves. Ranald has made this character very endearing and real.

I enjoyed this book and its discussion of morality. This was my first book by Sophie Ranald, and I look forward to reading more of her work..

This is the second of Sophie Ranald’s books that I’ve read (also the second in this series) and I’ve really liked both. When I read Sorry Not Sorry, I was really hoping to get to see Tansy come to life in her own book so I was excited to pick this one up.

At first glance, and even throughout Sorry Not Sorry, Tansy appears to be the kind of girl people envy. Pretty, confident, works in fashion, guys adore her, she’s perfect. But she’s also barely keeping it together financially, she continues to struggle with body issues, and she was also pretty seriously bullied in school and it left its mark on her. She's a human with human struggles.

Tansy tells herself this early in Chapter One, devastated about a breakup. She embraces the sentiment and decides to do everything she can to get back her ex. Instead of the book being solely about this quest (it’s really not), it’s more about Tansy embracing new beginnings and starting to deal with things that have happened in her past.

While there is romance in It’s Not You It’s Him, it’s not at all the focus, and I found it refreshing. I love a good romance, but it can be nice to read about a great, well-developed female character figuring out her life and her career as well as seeking out love. The work-related plotlines were interesting and engaging without being too overpowering or unnecessary. There was also a series of flashback chapters in the book that worked really well, giving us insight into how Tansy sees herself, her worth and her relationships with others.

The romance was fun and realistic, nothing earthshattering but cute and I liked it.

Overall a fun read!

Ten days after Tansy has been dumped by her boyfriend Renzo, she comes up with a plan to get him back.. Stalking him on facebook, making her best friend and housemate inform her about Renzo's schedule, trying her best to "accidentally" meet him, faking she has a new boyfriend to make Renzo jealous... nothing is too much for Tansy to get her rich and handsome boyfriend back.

The book is narrated in present time, alternating with a few chapters from the past to help us understand what had happened ten years earlier in Tansy's life.

Overall I enjoyed the book. It has funny moments, but it's not hilarious; Tansy is a likable character; she works hard at a fashion buyer for an online business with a loathsome boss, she struggles with money while she tries to financially help her family, she wants fo fight to save her relationship, she shares the flat with a good friend and a cat that ignores her, and she even goes a little out of her way to help a young designer she found by chance. She grows up a lot by the end of the book, and that's something I love.

But despite having almost everything to make me love this book, it falls flat, somehow. The first 50% of the book is too long and slow, and nothing really happens but Tansy going to work, harassing her roomate Adam to tell her where Renzo will be at any given moment so she could stalk him, and repeating over and over again that she's going to get him back. This part dragged a lot, and it didn't feel interesting enough for me to pick up the book again whenever I stopped reading.

But then, the second half was more interesting, as things actually start to happen. Josh, Renzo, Felicity, Chelsea, troubles with her boss... It's like everything is piling up in Tansy's life before it explodes so she can start again. I really liked how she started to take control of her life, making decisions for herself, not for others, how she starts noticing that some situations and persons in her life may not be good for her, and how she decides to find a job far from her toxic boss.

I also found this book tried to touch a lot of socially important themes (underpaid and slavery-like fashion workshops in Asia, anorexia, gambling, instagram-beauty against real beauty...) but they were treated so superficially and lightly during most of the book that when the actual issues are addressed it felt like too sudden and out of place.

And finally, I must say that I loved Josh and I wanted to see more of him in the book, more romance, more interactions between them. It was like he was there just so Tansy could have a happy ending, and it's not fair to him. He's sweet and kind, and he even sacrifices himself so she can choose for herself. He's almost perfect, but he's barely present. Even the conflicts between them were short lived and not very deeply felt.

It's a nice reading that could have been much more. Three point five stars.

This books is fun to read, heartwarming and engaging. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down.
I loved the characters, the setting and the plot.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.

I'm a big Sophie Ranald fan so couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! With her last book Sorry Not Sorry, I couldn't put it down. And thankfully It's Not You It's Him was the same way. I found this book to be seriously funny but still had the heartwarming elements that I love in a romance/comedy book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and will be telling all the patrons that come into my library for a good summer read to get this!

A wonderful feel good story with many ups and downs but also many situations that can make life difficult, and showing how they can be overcome by loving yourself and everything you have to offer.

I really enjoyed this relatable book.

Took a little while to get going but once it did it was fab! There are parts that genuinely made me laugh out loud! Perfect summer book!

This book was absolutely delightful! I loved every hilarious, emotional and romantic moment (and had to stay up long past my bed time to finish!) Some sensitive and topical issues were dealt with in an intellectual and satisfying manner (whilst still being highly entertaining!), and the resolutions to both sub and main plots were exquisitely satisfying. I adored this book! Sophie Ranald is brilliant. 'It's Not You, It's Him' deserves to soar up the charts!
Highly recommended for any rom com fan - particularly fans of Mhairi McFarlane and Josie Silver.

OMG I loved it. Sophie Ranald has done it again. I could not put the book down. I could totally relate to Tansy and her heartache and if I’m honest we have all done crazy things when our heart is broken. Adam was my favourite character, what a legend. Everyone needs an Adam in their life. If you love rom com then you have to read this book. My favourite book by Sophie, she never fails to deliver a great storyline. Hoping she has another great book due out soon.

This book was pretty good. It was slow in spots but kept me interested. I enjoyed the story and thank you to netgalley for the ARC. I give it 3 stars.

It's Not You It's Him is a flirty rom-com ride by Sophie Ranald. It's a great summer read that'll be fun for the beach or for poolside. With a fresh side of heartbreak after having been dumped by her boyfriend Renzo, Tansy is determined to get him back. She enlists an army of help to help her accomplish this mission. What she finds along the way is that sometimes you get what you need on your way to trying to get what you want. (The song lyrics are true!)

It's Not You It's Him by Sophie Ranald is a feel good, laugh-out-loud rom com that is hugely relatable. Readers will empathize with Tansy's struggles as she navigates love, family, career, and friendships as a single woman living in modern London.

Tansy has been dumped by the man that she has fallen hard for, the charismatic Renzo, after she reveals a secret about her past that he is unwilling to accept. Tansy commits herself to a single mission, winning Renzo back, whatever the cost. But when the handsome Josh reappears in her life, long repressed feelings begin to resurface, and Tansy is forced to take a hard look at the role the past has played in her current relationships.

This is a lighthearted read that will appeal to fans of a well-written rom com. The character of Tansy resonated with me as, I believe, she will with anyone who has ever been untrue to themselves in an effort to preserve harmony in a relationship.

Tansy just can't bring herself to accept that her 6-month long relationship with the man she thinks is the one for her is over. She decides to make it her mission to get Renzo back and enlists help from her housemate Adam to get updates on him, as both the guys work in the same place. Tansy not only has to deal with her heartbreak, but also her work as a fashion buyer for an online boutique, in addition to money problems what with sending money to help out her parents back home. She also takes on another personal mission - Chelsea, a young girl who independently sells clothes she personally makes and designs.

It took me time to get into the story. Because the author takes time to set the story up. But this is necessary for us to get a proper insight into Tansy's character. She's a little naive, a bit of a romantic. We see flashbacks of her time back in school to see what made her this way. Things get complicated when she's forced to let her former employer's son become a temporary housemate. This happens to be the same guy who she has bad memories with back from school.

It always makes me happy when a protagonist has real life problems that I can relate to. All the characters were interesting with some solid female friendships. But my favorite perhaps was Adam, an amazing friend and all-round adorable guy, not to mention his possessiveness over a certain cat. There was also a particular scene where Tansy gets a surprise from her friend that just mad my heart melt!

My only complaint is that it's a bit slow in the beginning, which while understanding takes away from initial enjoyment. The romance was also unpredictable but enjoyable, and yet I'd have liked a little more buildup to it. But overall, it's a heartening and engaging story with a lovely heroine.

Recently dumped Tansy is in a mission: get Renzo back, no matter what. Their relationship ended after he found out Tansy’s secret and ended it on the spot. But she’s lost count of how many packets of Kleenex she’s cried her way through and now Operation Get Renzo back is in full swing.

I absolutely loved this book. I devoured it in less than a day. The character of Tansy is likeable and enjoyable to read about, facing real problems in her personal life and her job and managing to overcome them. A great book with an addictive writing style.
