This book is described as The Secret History meets Agatha Christie and when I first saw this I had my doubts. But I can pleasantly say that this book surprised me with how accurate that statement is. I love both The Secret History and Christie so I was rather intrigued by this novel. The Truants was a highly readable and endearing story about a few friends on fictionalized campus. I loved that the mystery of the book posed as many questions as it answered leaving the read desperate for more.

The Truants is a great mystery about deceit and first love.
It is a very deeply affecting story about love with very deep psychological overtones.
Her writing is brilliant and she reminded me of Agatha Christie’s early books.
It really describes the terrible effects that love can have on us.
A very engaging book

Some parts moved faster than others. But overall it was an enjoyable read. I think my book clubs would appreciate this book.

"Seductive coming-of-age debut" really drew me in. Not normally something that I would read, I really enjoyed the Truants. Jess was an incredible character, and I finished it in a few nights. I love a good twist ;)
