Intense, Wicked Girl is one book you want to read with the lights on. This is the first book I have read by this author and hope to read more in the future.

I hated this book with a passion. The writing was fairly decent, the ideas were all there and it wasn't afraid to shock you. But it was not for me. I felt grossed out just reading it. Its the kind of book I want to forget I ever read and try to shower it away.

WOW. A somewhat fresh look at alternative views on mental health. John is at one end of the spectrum. You definitely need to read this twice to enjoy the essence. Sometimes humorous, yet tragic. Not for the lighthearted reader.

Thanks to I.V. Olokita and NetGalley for this different adventure into a highly speculative world.

An incredibly strange and yet somehow mesmerizing tale of insanity and sociopaths, which nearly all the characters -- "good guys" and "bad guys" alike -- seem to be, on one level or another. The author's first language is definitely not English, as the translation makes quite clear, but the vernacular is still arresting. I read until the wee hours of the morning, and thoroughly enjoyed.

Wicked Girl is a sick, disturbing, quick thriller. Wow, this was hard to get through and it had a bit to do with the subject matter. You will either like this book or hate it.

It's a short book thank goodness.

A pedophile rescues a girl trapped under the rubble of an insane asylum after an earthquake. That's all you need to know. The story is not only gross but very confusing, the writing pedestrian, and I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Triggers galore - you've been warned!

Thank you to NetGalley and I.V. Olokita for providing me a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Dark and twisted, but it definitely makes one think just who really is the crazy one. Thank you NetGalley.

The author wrote a thriller that started with a bang and just kept going! The twists kept coming, so I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

"Even if a dog goes mad, it will always be a dog."
So said a small white sign hung on a wall in Birmingham Mental Institution Ward number 3. It had a black frame, written in a hand they were all well acquainted with. The letters had faded over time. In the end, among all the calligraphy in the frame, one could detect a blurred signature. It was mine.

John Wilcox is a young idler who loathes people except for young women. His destiny brought him near Birmingham Mental Institution during an earthquake. At that time Wilcox saves Elsie, an eccentric, half-deranged teenager. John pulls out every manipulation at his disposal to convince her that he is the right person to help her recover. Grey, Alessi's father, goes on a quest for his lost daughter. She, too, like her mother, was trying to escape him. And so, began the tragic story between prey, and it's supposed predator.

Wicked Girl is a psychological crime fiction, where a sequence of accidents generates cold-blooded, and blood-curdling actions. It is a fascinating combination of romance, tension, and humor, unpredictable to the very end. Presented in a clear, straightforward way, yet its plot is packed with wit, action, and surprises grabbing the reader's attention all the way to the last word

Wow, so many twists in this book. Keeps you invested all the way.
Thank you, NetGalley for the advance copy for review.

An earthquake was felt at Birmingham Mental Institution. When that happened, John Wilcox saved Elsie, a resident of the Institution. Is it love at first sight? Or something else?

I can't improve on the book blurb. It's full of twists and turns and surprises around every corner. It's a compelling read ... totally unpredictable. The ending was unforeseeable. Remember ... not everything you see and hear is true ... or is it?

Many thanks to the author / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
