I absolutely loved the first book in the Pudding Pantry series and was so excited when I got the opportunity to read Christmas at Rachel’s Pudding Pantry. How wonderful to be back at Primrose Farm with Rachel, her mum Jill, daughter Daisy, Tom and friends at such a special festive time of year.

In this book each chapter starts with a mouth-watering delicious recipe - They form the basis for each chapter - 12 bakes of Christmas.

Because I read the first book I did find that at the start of this book we did cover a lot of what happened in the first book but I understand for those that have not read the first book, they do need to have an understanding of what went on and form a basis for the story ahead.

I love the Pudding Club which Rachel and her mum Jill created, and its success and loved meeting the new characters - I hope we hear more about them in future books. There was so much depth to the new characters and so many funny moments throughout the book but also sad moments too.

I loved how we learnt so much more about the farm, and the problems that occur in winter - we live in the country and the winters are so harsh for farmers and so much harder looking after their livestock. The cold wintery scenes made you want to snuggle under a blanket and turn up the fire!

I absolutely loved the proposal - so romantic! I can't wait to hear about Rachel and Tom and Daisy's future and what happens next - will they continue to manage both farms or will they move in together .... so much more to find out about this wonderful family.

An absolutely magical warm Christmas read which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. I would love to visit Rachel’s Pudding Pantry and be part of the Pudding Club! I hope there is a Pudding Pantry, Book 3!

It was lovely to be back at Primrose Farm again to catch up with Rachel, her family and friends. I enjoyed this book as much as the first.

The mixture of the recipes and the stories works well and I will be treating myself to a paperback copy in addition to the digital copy I already have, so that I can try the recipes out.

This story will make you smile and it will also make you hold your loved ones close as you follow the highs and lows in Rachel's life. Christmas is always a difficult time when you have lost a loved one recently and Rachel is missing her dad. Rachel's relationship with her mum also changes during the course of this book.

I loved the recipes found at the beginning of the chapters; the Christmas pudding sounds really scrumptious. I have read Caroline’s previous novel about Primrose Farm and enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed this novel too, but found the content lacking substance and too many loose ends., presumably left ready for the next book. Posted on goodreads
Overall a sweet festive read.

Caroline Roberts is one of my favorite authors for escapism. She captivates me from the first page and I read longer into the night then I should. I love the stories about the farm and the pudding pantry but most of all the relationships that are on going and starting. The book is a joy to read and I can't wait for the sequel.

I read the first Pudding Pantry book and this took me right back to the characters. I enjoyed reading about the latest in the lives of Maisie and her family and how they take the Pudding Pantry forward.

I like how these books introduce you to village life and how people really look out for each other.

A nice holiday read

This was my first book by this author, It was pretty enjoyable. I would give this book a 3.5 star rating! It was a pretty Quick and easy read!

Rachel and Tom and the Christmas pantry. A lovely book that made me feel like I was wrapped up in a warm blanket all fuzzy and toasty.
A quick, light read that made me wish it was Christmas already!
I loved the 12 bakes of Christmas and will be trying out some of the recipes myself .

It’s delightful. Really makes you feel like you’re in the beautiful scenery with the characters. And it’s got a very festive feel to it. I’d call it a new holiday classic and it’s definitely going on my favorite Christmas reads list. 5/5 stars.

Within a chapter or two I was fully back on board with life at Primrose Farm and it was like I hadn't even been away. I am absolutely loving these four generations of women who are fighting to keep the farm solvent and hoping that their newly set up Pudding Pantry will help do just that.

We have Grandma Ruby, who's Christmas pudding is legendary and is generally a wonderful baker. Mum Jill, who loves baking and is still feeling the loss of her husband this festive season. Rachel who the book focuses around who is doing her best at keeping the farm and pudding pantry running, while looking after daughter Maisie (who is adorable), and seeing if she can keep her fledgling relationship with Tom on track.

Please don't read this like I did when recovering from dental extraction surgery when I could barely eat anything myself... but yet was being made extra super duper hungry from the mentions of all the wonderful puddings in this book. If you are a fan of puddings, tarts, crumbles etc.. there will be plenty in here for your mouth to water over.

Plus there are also the 12 bakes of Christmas complete with recipes, for those that like to indulge in a bit of baking themselves.

There are many ups and downs in this book and I found myself completely absorbed by life on the farm. I felt for the animals, I loved Maisie's nativity play, I enjoyed the creation of the Pudding Pantry Club and getting to know all the different people attending that.

I really just loved everything, all wrapped up in Caroline Roberts wonderfully heartwarming and comforting writing style, that made me hungry, had me laughing, awwing, worried at times and generally just had me on the side of the Swinton family, hoping everything would work out.

This was a joy to read, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next Pudding Pantry book that was hinted at in the acknowledgements. It is a fabulous series and one I am very keen to continue reading. Just wish I didn't need to wait for the author to write it first!!

I have read the first book and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this book and I was not disappointed it is a fabulous book
It obviously follows the gorgeous Rachel's pudding pantry and we begin where we left off but Rachel and her mum Jill are struggling after spending all their money on the pantry and as its September not as many customers are calling in what do they now?
Rachel comes up with pudding week teaching people for a small fee how to make her gorgeous puddings and also to try to bring in new customers and it works
Too well at times resulting in Rachel hardly having any time to spend with the scrumptious Tom or her daughter Maisey
But this book follows their every step and has a delicious ending!!
Can't wait for next book

Caroline Roberts never disappoints and It was wonderful to step back into the doors of the Pudding Pantry, to catch up with Rachel, her mum Jill and daughter Maisie, as with the first book Caroline Addresses some of today’s issues, such as single motherhood, new and old relationships and facing loss. We catch up with the pantry as Christmas approaches, will it be the much needed celebration to bring in new customers? Rachel also has another idea up her sleeve if she can make it work. Of course the lovely Apple Crumble Tom is still trying to make his relationship work with Rachel but the strains of running the farm and business are taking its toll for Rachel. Will they get their happy ending. It was so lovely to see some characters from Caroline’s other books appear especially at the Castle Tea shop.
A book I could have easily read in one sitting, a gorgeous, comfy Christmas read to snuggle up with on a wet day.
Well done Caroline for another excellent read.

Snow, Family,Recipes and a Romance - Perfect!

I do enjoy these stories and this one doesn't disappoint. It was a bit slower to get into the story then previous ones but a beautiful ending

Christmas is that perfect period of time when family comes together, presents, memories and good food are shared as the snow lazily falls to earth outside the window and real life is suspended,  for just a little while at least.

That is the fiction of Christmas and this book delivers all of that and more whilst also reminding us how winters in the farming community are anything but an idyllic or easy way of life. Rachel runs her family farm with mother Jill, daughter Maisy and the expertise learned from her beloved late father, Robert. Unfortunately the farm on its own is never going to provide them with enough financial stability to keep their home out of the grasp of estate agents or developers.

Rachel's Pudding Pantry was born from a love of cooking, companionship and desperation proving to be the lifeline it was hoped for and things are looking good as this lovely tale begins. As an added bonus, the recipes, which are mentioned at intervals throughout, are included. All of them are Christmas based and designed to suit any level of cooking expertise.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of reading this book and could 'see' the locations and people throughout. The characterisation of even the peripheral characters was vivid and it was easy to want Rachel and Jill to succeed in their endeavours. This wasn't a sugar coated storyline however, and the harsh realities of farming in the UK today were also there weaving their way through the characters' lives as effectively as the good times.

As they begin a pudding club which builds in success, Rachel finds herself too busy to see Tom while she discovers her ex has a new girlfriend in tow when he decides to make a rare visit to see Maisie while she discovers Tom's ex is also back, but why?



As the joy of Christmas arrives, hard work and heavy snowfall threaten to make this Christmas a tough time, can Rachel find herself having a good Christmas and spending time with Tom at last too or will plans to awry?



I loved that characters from Caroline's other books made an appearance too while there was a snowdog line which won me over being a huge The snowman fan! The cast of characters really made the pudding club come to life and the time of each character shone through it was a fabulous easy Christmas read with plenty of drama to keep you hooked on reading more I just can't wait for the next one now after that final chapter too!

This is a lovely festive follow up to Rachel's Pudding Pantry which was released earlier in the year.

Rachel is still at Primrose Farm and her Pudding Pantry has survived the busy summer period but as autumn sets in and Christmas looms, she is starting to worry that the money from the diversification is not going to see them through the winter months. 

With some very quiet days to add to her worry there is also the fact that her ex seems to be more involved with someone new who happens to have a child, and interest in their little girl Maisie perhaps takes a back seat. Her romance with neighbouring farmer Tom seems to be going one step backwards rather than forwards and when someone from the past turns up it seems to put everything in jeopardy. 

Of course nothing is going to be easy but an idea of starting a 'Pudding Club' to diversify and bring people together over a love of puddings and making friends makes the run up to Christmas less of a problem. With a Christmas Fayre, nativities and plenty of festive baking to fit in between running the farm she has perhaps taken on more than she can cope with. 

When the weather takes a turn and her livestock are threatened she has to muster all the strength to not just save them but everything she loves as well. 

It was lovely to return to the farm and see how Rachel and her family were moving on from the past and creating a rather different future. Rachel realises that time moves on and with it so do people and perhaps she needs to accept the change that his happening around her - it can only be for the good. 

This is a great festive read and with the recipes punctuated throughout the novel it definitely sets you taste buds going. Makes you want to sit in front of a roaring fire and demolish a mince pie or two!

A gentle festive read.. This book really gets into the spirit of Christmas with the added bonus of providing recipes for many of the puddings. Even I, a non baker, fancy having a go especially with the toffee apple crumble.
The storyline is exactly what you would expect from the title. Festivities, puddings, family life with a little bit of drama and a lot of love.
A perfect book to read on a winter’s day, preferably snowy. So grab a hot chocolate and settle down.

A good festive read together with recipes from The Pudding Pantry. The story gives a feeling of how life on a farm can be on the run up to Christmas and how difficult it is to make it pay. Rachel , her mother Jill and daughter Maisie together with friends struggle to make ends meet during the run up to Christmas when the bad weather arrives. There are heart warming moments in this book which show the best and worst of human nature but very enjoyable .
A cup of coffee a biscuit and a cosy armchair is all that is required to enjoy this book.

I loved this follow-up book about Rachel and her family. Although there was a lot of repetition about the dad's suicide. I'm not sure if this was the finished book but there are a number of errors and after almost every recipe the title of the book is printed!
I loved the chapters about the bad snow fall and rescuing the sheep etc, I could almost feel the cold!
I wonder if there will be more in the series?

Brill instalment can’t wait for the next totally in love with the pudding pantry and all the characters. Great feeling reading about them all and watching them develop.
