Apologies for the late response on this title, and apologies for clogging up an inbox on old titles.

While I am aware it's obvious, I have chosen not to read/review this title.

As always, I appreciate access to titles and look forward to the next one...which I have likely already read based on how long ago this title was published.

Thanks, again.

You have no idea how happy I was when I discovered that Katy Evans had books published in the Harlequin Desire line! I love Harlequin series and I was excited to see what Katy Evans would give us. Big Shot is an office romance where the heroine goes back to work for her ex-boss, albeit reluctantly. I love office romances, especially boss/employee ones, and this book was so much fun. It's quick and steamy, which is exactly what I want in a romance. Though I do feel some things could be fleshed out a bit more, I was happy with how William and India's romance developed.

India walked away from her job at being an assistant because her boss was rude and arrogant she just couldn't take it anymore. Yet when William comes knocking because he is in a bind and needs someone to help with a baby how is she suppose to let this poor child suffer this man alone.

This was a very mediocre read. I didn’t really connect with either of the main characters and there were too many tropes going on.

Big Shot is a quick read that barely scratches the surface of Katy Evans writing abilities. It is an equal mix of sweet and sexy with a lot of character growth packed into a small space.

You can tell immediately that despite the antagonism between William and India there is also a latent simmering attraction. Unfortunately, William is a bit emotionally stunted due to his constant need to prove himself in his family. You see, while William may come from a wealthy family he has always felt like an outsider and therefore, exasperated the problem by keeping everyone at arm’s length.

So when William finds himself taking care of his baby niece the only person he feels he can turn to for help is India even though she has terminated her employment with him.

There are a lot of ups and downs while William and India battle their own emotional barriers and their attraction to each other. Part of the problem is the stigma of boss and employee relationships as well as both William and India projecting their insecurities onto the other.

With a little bit of help from family and friends, William and India move toward the right path in order to achieve their happily ever after ❤ 3.5/5

Unfortunately, I struggled to finish Big Shot. I didn't connect with the characters or the storyline. It felt a bit juvenile to me, rather than two adults starting a romance. DNF at 15%

I love a good office romance with enemies to lovers mixed in. I am a huge fan of Katy Evans.

Will and India do not get along at all. She can’t stand how rude he is and the way he acts so she quits. Will is different from his brother and doesn’t always do what he should. He blames his behavior on him trying to please his father. Will is desperate for help watching his niece Rosie and he can only think of one person to help him.

This was a fast paced read that I couldn’t put down. I am looking forward to more of Katy Evans work.

Katy Evans does it again by enticing into another one of her novels. We begin this story with billionaire William Walker of Walker industries. He's a handsome man with a sharp tongue and a short temper. India, his assistant is the target of most of his outbursts and frustrations and she has had enough. With a new job prospect, India leaves the job in the bravest way she can, leaving William Walker stunned. Before this moment, William learns that he will have to take care of his niece while his Brother Kit and his brother's wife set off to see Kit's sister-in-law. Without much of a choice and with the honest feeling that he wants to spend time with his newborn niece, William reluctantly agrees. Now with a baby to watch and no assistant, William has to figure out how to run his company while also proving to people that he does have a soft side to his hard shell exterior.

The steamy romance was equal parts amazing and frustrating. I say this because it is clear that other than the tension of William treating India horribly, there was oddly some sexual tension happening between the two. Did I see a budding odd romance coming - Yes. Was I prepared for it - Oh, you know it. Rosie, William's niece became the thread that brought them back together. Because India was so reliable in everything she did, William knew she would be the person that could be best in helping him with Rosie. But it wasn't easy to get India back.  Although their relationship wasn't perfect, it was just enough to understand the plot. Although I did want a little more longing looks and swoony moments and a little less tension and buildup, but the enemies to lovers trope wouldn't have been as surprisingly rewarding.

In terms of the characters, I honestly had just a bit of joy watching William crumble under the pressure of trying to be the best he can for Rosie. It brought down the hard exterior a bit and we saw a side of William that felt more realistic. Allowing that humility to show helped in William's character development along with helping the budding relationship between him and India. India is spunky, sassy and confident in her stride to quit her job and land a writing gig. This part of her character I enjoyed the most. She wasn't afraid to stick to her true feelings. However, she did have the room to give the benefit of the doubt and even though at times it was frustrating, I understood why she did what she did for William and Rosie. She did give William a run for his money and I can appreciate when a woman plays hard to get for a man because it only  makes the man, William in this case, really discover who they are as a person and the things they need to change to be a better person in order to deserve that attention.  The one character I didn't enjoy as much was William's brother. I know he is portrayed to be the younger, quickly successful all around family guy who is supposed to be the complete opposite of William, but I still could not wish him out of the novel quickly enough.

Overall, this was a a steamy enemies to lovers office romance that was a quick read and a page turner. Katy Evans continues to make strong female characters and arrogant male characters who ultimately see their wrong doings. What I enjoy best about Katy's writing style is that she doesn't make the woman play the role as the fixer upper for the man.  If you want a quick, enjoy romance read, I'd suggest you pick this up today!

This was a rather amusing as well as steamy read. William seems like such a jerk but I could tell early on that his gruff frosty attitude is from a vulnerable damaged soul.

India was a sweet young woman who is both drawn to and driven crazy by William. I loved that she also was determined to try and become an author. Her determination to seek her dream was inspiring. And the fierce strength of her quitting had me almost cheering for her.

When his brother and sister-in-law need him to watch their daughter so they can go see her injured sister, watching William struggle was both a flashback and amusing.

Watching them both find each other while working together and healing their own beings was both steamy and heart warming. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Big Shot is Katy Evans first single dad romance book and I absolutely loved it! India and William sizzle off the pages as you read, oh my goodness! At first it seems like the two can’t stand each other (a great start to any romance book in my opinion, I mean..hello? Elizabeth and Darcy?!) but little by little they can’t stop their attraction for one another. I’m new in regards to office romance stories but the whole enemies to lovers trope is something I like reading about and I really did enjoy this book!

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
3.5-4 stars

This is a good enemies-to-lovers story, but I found that the idea of a successful billionaire who couldn't figure out his feelings was a little hard to believe. But then again, there are a lot of us who have trouble telling others how we really feel.

India works for one of the worst bosses she has ever had. She can do nothing right, or so it seems. So when she finally gets enough and quits, it finally clicks with William that he might be losing the one person he needs to keep around.

Kit and Alex finally get a chance to go on their honeymoon and they want William to keep their baby. William has never kept a baby in his life and they are going to leave her with him for two weeks. Yeah, I don't think so, even if it is just a story. But anyway, William calls India to help him work from home while he is babysitting and she negotiates great pay from it.

Will they be able to finally tell each other how they really feel before the time is up? Can William see that India is what he needs to really be happy? Will India give William a chance to show her he can change?

As I said, I really liked the idea of the story, it needed a little more to it in my opinion. You can still read it and enjoy it and I hope you do.

While this is the second book in a series by Kathy Evans, I read it as a stand alone. William Walker is an enigma. He is a genius, a billionaire who built Walker Industries, one of the biggest online-game companies in the country; he is a workaholic, but has no social skills, behaves like a bully and to me seems to suffer from Aspergers Syndrome (but that was never mentioned in the book). India is his assistant, who hates her boss because of the way he treats her and everyone else, yet she also pushes his buttons, and he allows her to get away with it, because she is so efficient and no one else would put up with him. Why does she? Because she gets paid very well, so she can support herself while she writes her novel. Secretly, they are really attracted to each other, but don't know how to express it. When she gets an offer for freelance writing, she quits, and then feels guilty about it. William on the other hand, is bewildered as to why she quit. Then his brother, needs him to babysit his niece, and when he can't cope, the only one who he can think of to call is India. He makes her an offer she can't refuse and they get to see another side of each other. While India has no problem with little Rosie, can she tame William?

Interesting characters, easy banter and an odd plot, make this a fun read. I read a free ARC from NetGally.com and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Big Shot is the next Harlequin Desire romance by Katy Evans featuring a bad boy billionaire, enemies to lovers/office romance, told in dual POV’s. It is a standalone, but I recommend reading Boss first to get more of a feel for the characters.

William Walker is the classic workaholic and worrier. He is driven, stressed and demands perfection. India Crowley seems to be at the center of his demands. As his assistant he tends to be quite the jerk to her. But India doesn’t cower. She has had enough and quits. But this puts William in a terrible predicament and so he makes her an offer….

There is plenty of banter between William and India and a huge dose of sexual tension! Katy Evans makes us work for it with a slow burn that is super sexy!

Big Shot is the perfect beach or poolside book to end the summer with! Hot, steamy and enjoyable!

3.75 stars!

Loved this book! William getting roped into watching his niece, having to grovel to India, and then the love between them! Such a good book!

Katy Evans writes sassy, sexy and scorching contemporary romances that are impossible to put down and her second novel for Harlequin Desire, Big Shot, is certainly no exception!

William Walker might be a drop dead gorgeous billionaire who is admired, envied and lusted after by every single person that crosses his path, but there is one person who simply cannot stand the sight of him: his assistant, India Crowley. William is demanding, arrogant, infuriating and tests her patience on an hourly basis. Whether it’s phoning her at 3 am or not appreciating her hard work, India is not sure she can stand working for William Walker any more. However, resigning is simply not an option for India, especially as things begin to heat up in the boardroom and end up steaming up the bedroom…

William Walker knows that he is not the easiest of bosses, but he demands the absolute best out of his employees – especially if they are as feisty and confident as his assistant India. William is well aware he should give her as wide a berth as possible, however, that proves to be easier said than done!

When a professional disagreement gives way to a personal connection that floors the two of them, William and India soon find themselves succumbing to temptation and giving into the desire that sizzles between them. But when naked attraction gives way to something far deeper than either one of them imagined, will they find the courage to admit the truth about the depth of their feelings for one another?

A sensual romance that sparkles with wickedly witty repartee, red hot chemistry, explosive sex scenes and uplifting romance, Big Shot is a captivating and compelling tale with a buttoned up Alpha hero readers will swoon over and a fantastic heroine they would love to have as a best friend.

Passionate, witty, dramatic and impossible to resist, Big Shot is another winner by Katy Evans.

William is just an unhappy grumpy pain in the backside!
I would have served him his morning coffee lap side!
India has suffered enough stress working under him.
There are plenty of jobs for a woman with her skill where she will not develop ulcers.
But we all know how Fate works she has her own plans and usually, they do not match with our own

William's world is turned upside down and he finds himself needing India's assistance -
Can he get her to agree to help him?
Will they survive working together in such close quarters?

I have to admit it was fun to watch William come down a peg or two.

William and India were like oil and water -
Every time they entered the others orbit they just couldn't find a way to coexist.
You could feel the tension radiating off the pages.
But eventually, they found a common ground
I read a comp copy #BigShot #NetGalley

As far as Katy Evans books go, this wasn't exactly my favorite, but I did enjoy this story. With Big Shot being my second read from Harlequin's Desire, I knew going in that this would be on the shorter side. And I think this book needed to be fleshed out a bit more especially with William's character development.

I tend to enjoy a solid enemies-to-lovers, office romance. The hating between these two go deep and I just wanted to know why William is the way he is. A ruthless businessman AND a doting uncle. Adding in the baby factor was absolutely everything, plus we got to see the little glimpse into the relationship with his brother. It just showed another side to William, that he loves his family more than anything .

Throughout the book we see William and India learn about each other, all while slowly forming something else between them. The tension is off the shorts and having to be in such a small space for a couple of weeks, who knows how long they'll be able to resist each other.

I loved seeing William's niece soften him up a bit and that helped India fall for him a little bit more. India uncovered another side to William and she was loving it. I enjoyed watching her feelings slowly change for this alpha man.

Readers who are looking for a steamy enemies to lovers in an office setting, will definitely want to pick this up!

3.5 stars--BIG SHOT is the second instalment in Katy Evan’s contemporary, adult, erotic, romance series. This is billionaire businessman William Walker, and his PA India Crowley’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (William and India) BIG SHOT follows the acrimonious professional relationship between billionaire businessman William Walker, and his PA India Crowley. India is tired of William’s attitude in the office, and decides it’s time to hand her resignation. As William’s personal assistant India finds herself on the receiving end of William’s bad attitude and emotional outbursts more times than she can handle. But days into her self-imposed unemployment Williams offers India a deal she cannot refuse as he struggles with looking after his four month old niece. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between William and India, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to an end.

William Walker doesn’t do office romances but he struggles with his attraction to her PA India Crowley, an attraction that manifests as cold, emotional distant and mean. When his brother and sister in law need time to themselves, William finds himself looking after his four month old niece, and is desperate enough to beg India for her return. India Crowley has dreamed about becoming a writer, and with her lack of employment India begins freelance working for online blogs. A call from William pulls India back into the orbit of the man that pushes all of her buttons, buttons that are about to be pushed again.

The relationship between William and India is a forbidden office romance; an enemies to lovers partnership that comes with an expiry date unless someone steps up and reveals their true feelings. The sex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to William’s brother Kit and Alex ( Boss #1), their daughter Rosie, as well as their father Alistair, and India’s roommate and best friend Montana.

BIG SHOT is a story of family, relationships, and workaholic. The premise is entertaining; the romance is hot and steamy; the characters are energetic and charismatic but I had hoped for a little more back ground information about both of the characters.
