This read is a brilliant memoir, focusing on the turbulent life of a young man as is plans of a new life get quickly derailed.
It focuses on love, relationships, abuse, drugs and poverty in a very moving and captivating writing style. I am not usually a fan of memoirs but this drew me in from page one.

I enjoyed the story as a whole, but I struggled to relate to this book in any sense. I struggled with the way the struggles of fatherhood was portrayed and just didn't connect with the story.

I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, I found it to be choppy. I also was not attracted to the way in which he told his story of fatherhood and pain. It was hard to relate to this book.

Wish I could have like this more.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
