This was an interesting book with great scifi elements which I enjoyed. I like sci fi but I usually like it a little bit lighter. Luckily this book used other genres throughout to tell the story too which made it much easier to read.

The closest thing I can really offer a comparison on regarding this book, is basically the movie Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams. If you enjoyed that movie, you will enjoy this book.

Overall, it's a bit strange trying to get into the headspace of an android you have no real connection with (it's not human, nor are it's motivations, so you find yourself questioning somethings), but overall, the author does a pretty great job of keeping the story moving along.

Strangely enough, I felt sorry for the android, as with most stories like this, it's bullied and abused and spends a large amount of time wondering what it did wrong, when it did nothing wrong to begin with. Sometimes the human characters act a little less than human and more like they are motivated by the plot needing to move on a bit, but overall I enjoyed the book. It was nice to read a scifi book where the future isn't a dystopian hellscape rendered lifeless (or zombie filled) via humans being, well, humans.

As I said, if you enjoyed Bicentennial Man, you will enjoy this novel. It's got some rough moments, but overall it's one that I can recommend!

I'm usually willing to give a new author a shot if his premise sounds interesting. In this case it did but the execution was still in "first novel" territory. I struggled with the dialogue, which seemed overly simplistic to me. Credit is due for trying and I realize it can take a few books to work the process out. Maybe a YA novel would be a good idea for this author.

A good book from a talented author. This is a well-written book with interesting characters. It's sci-fi but folds-in other genres as well. That's one aspect that give it a fresh take on robots. Recommended.

I really appreciate the copy for review!!
