[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
First of all, I know when I'm reading an ARC I can find a lot of typos and other edition mistakes but this book is so full of them that I found the reading very difficult.
I found the premise of Forgotten Love very interesting but the story didn't fulfill my expectations at all. I couldn't connect with the main couple, although I tried it very hard, believe me. I didn't like their relationship, their constant up and downs, and I found Rafe an unlikable character, so controlling and almost stalkerish. Summer didn't get to me, either. She's always trying to be strong but her resolve becames air when Rafe says something to her or even looks at her. Their one of those couples that get horny everytime and everywhere, something that makes me roll my eyes, and I think that the author centers too much in their sexual relationship and too little in their emotional one, which was what I found intriging at the beginning.
Both characters have a terrible past but you only can glimpse little things of it. Apparently, there's going to be another book in the series so we could know it all, but I'm now more interested in Rafe's friends that in his and Summer story.
This book definetly was not for me 😞.

Summer was at La Rosa’s- an Italian bistro- she was waiting for her husband but he was very late. She passed the time by creating stories about the people near her. Organizing this evening was Summer’s last attempt to save her marriage. Yet again, she sat alone, uncertain he would arrive. The waiter asked her if she wanted a drink, but she couldn’t for the next seven months maybe more. Her unexpected news was the other reason for tonight's meeting with her estranged husband. Over the last couple months they had argued all the time. After a bad fight in which hurtful things were said and done that couldn’t be forgotten, he stormed out saying he needed some space. That was six weeks ago. In truth Summer didn’t need him, but he had a right to know he was going to be a father. She was a confident businesswoman , used to managing on her own, and if need be, she would raise their child alone. Summer owned Hamilton Design. As she went to leave her husband was at the door but he had been drinking. She took off her wedding band and told him she couldn’t do this anymore and left. Summer got a call from Claire - her employee , her right hand woman, she wanted to talk about Hamiltons. Summer told her she had to get gas and she would be there in about an hour. She took a slip road to get gas but their song came on Summer started to cry again and lost control of the car and hit a tree. Rafe- Summer’s husband- knew when he got to La Rosa’s he was too late. When he saw the open disgust in Summer’s eyes. Today he wanted to celebrate his good news. He wanted to share with Summer the secret he had been keeping from her about STEPS, his outdoor survival company, which he had founded with some buddies, would become a reality. But she had walked away. He went to Summer’s condo while there he got a phone call from a nurse practitioner and Summer had been in an accident and was on the operating table is fighting for her life. He immediately went to the hospital and was shown to a waiting room. He called Summer’s parents to let them know. He couldn’t lose Summer, she was the light in his dark world. Summer was such a contradiction, bright and confident outwardly yet inside a bundle of insecurities she rarely let anyone see. Anyone except him. The doctor told rafe she lost the baby. She had several injuries but also a brain bleed and a blood clot which had been removed. But she hadn’t woken up. They would know more in the next couple days…. Or weeks. Four weeks later Rafe had fallen asleep after he told her he wouldn’t leave until she woke up. But hr did leave when the nurse told him her parents were coming to visit. The nursing staff always let him know. Summer’s father tried to pay him off to get away from Summer but than the nurse came out and told them Summer was awake. Rafe left he knew she was better off without him. Eight months later- Summer worked at a diner called Betty’s. She had retrograde amnesia and lost the whole last year of her life. Rafe came to the diner every morning but Summer didn’t remember him. Summer didn’t date colleagues or customers. In fact, she hadn't been on a date well over a year. She embraced her solitary life in many ways. She had survived a car accident last Christmas that had almost killed her but she wasn’t the same person anymore.
I enjoyed this book. I didn’t always agree with rafe’s or Summer’s decisions but it fit their characters. This was a fairly predictable book but I really enjoyed it anyhow. I loved rafe and Summer together although they both had issues, but I rooted for Rafe. I loved that the author addressed the issue of PTSD and did a great job with it. This book did need to be edited as there were a lot of typos in it. This ended in a cliffhanger which I hate so be aware and also would have been a five besides that and the errors. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

A navy seal. Yum, YUM!!. Really enjoyed this book. Never read a Davies book before. A must read for anyone who likes this kind of story.

UGH... This book really could have benefited from an editor. From the countless spelling errors to the typos to the formatting (or lack there of) issues to the crap ending...the list goes on.

The premise had me interested...to a degree. I expected more to the story about how her family could possibly keep Rafe away. The reason was a joke...if he really loved her nothing could have kept him away. The whole thing about his "past" was never even fully explained. They made such a huge deal over that being the reason he was pushed away but then we don't even get the full story of what happened in the accident?!?!?

This book just pissed me off more and more as I read it, yet I did finish it.

If this is going to be a series, I hope the author seeks out a better editor.

Rafe and summer story ended up sweet. There where some issues with this book in the middle that caused me not to fully fall for it but overall I really enjoyed this story. I think the book needs a content editor and then it would flow better.

This is a second chance for love and falling in love again. After a car accident Summer loses her memory so she doesn't remember the customer who is coming every day for breakfast in her diner. Rafe has almost lost Summer and when he finds her working in a dinner he sees is at the sign to fight for their love. But will their love survive every obstacle that life will throw under their feet? All in all interesting steamy romantic story. But I had really a few issues, like the things that are one time mentioned and later not explained, like how Rafe didn't tell her who his family really are. I had a feeling that he just fucked her senseless and she said yes to everything. I wished that the author had paid more attention to the small details.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Love love loves it! It captured me from the very beginning. I felt myself fighting for Rafe. I loved the banter each of them had in their heads throughout the entire book. Very well written.

Rafe is an ex-navy seal. he started his own ourdoor survival business which he has committed himself to. He finds Summer back in his and is determined to protect her right this time. What will happen? Why does she need protecting?
I found myself seriously routing for Rafe.

Forgotten Love is the first book in the Bound By Love series by J.M. Davies. I’m an ex-Navy SEAL. A wounded warrior with a hard-ass exterior and a checkered past to match. All I care about is my outdoor survival business—teaching others the skills they need to survive in the face of danger. But fate has a wicked sense of humor. From out of nowhere this brunette-beauty with the easy smile and doe-eyes walks into my life…and it’s not the first time. Summer doesn’t remember me. But she’s the one I can’t forget. I know that she’s in danger, and I’ll gladly give in to every protective instinct I have when it comes to keeping her safe. There’s a reason fate sent her my way for a second time. Only, this time…I won’t fail her.

Forgotten Love is a nice start to a series, introducing a good selection of secondary characters that I want to know more about. I liked Summer's character, she had grit and even though she was fighting through some serious things, which made her feel weak, she did what she had to do in order to survive. I disagreed with some of her choices, but could understand them and felt like they were all in character for her. Rafe has just as many issues, if not more than Summer, and is fighting through them in his own way. Like Summer, I did not always agree with the choices he made- although they all fit in his character and I could understand them. I really liked some of the secondary character and want to follow Nicki's future, and what happens with Rafe and his crew in the future. I did not like that a great deal was dumped on the reader at the very end, leaving me with questions, so many questions, about what is going to happen next. Oh, and fair warning for those that prefer romance with little to no sex, this is not that book. There is a great deal of heat in this book, and if you do not like an alpha male in that context then be forewarned- because there is a significant amount of that to be found.

Forgotten Love is a good contemporary romance with plenty of heart and heat.

This is really good. It was heartbreaking and sweet and hot; all at the same time.

I find myself rooting for Rafe since Summer's dad acted like a rich asshole on him. While the storyline is fairly cliche and predictable, I still suck it up like a squid. The chemistry between Rafe and Summer was there, especially when Rafe being all bossy and determined to make it work between them.

I'm not who is into the whole book-boyfriend thing, but if I am, Rafe would be it for me.

Thank you Netgalley and Limitless Publishing for the online copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was one of those stories that grip you at the very beginning. The author draws you in with the two characters and their story as it is seen a lot from the POV of an arrogant alpha male who is a former Navy SEAL, Rafe. Believe me, he is too confident for his own good at the beginning of their relationship which you see is due to his training and position of service.

Yet, as the story goes on you get to see the real weaknesses that come to haunt him and cause him a disservice when it causes him a woman he appears to truly love and cherish. He can’t seem to allow himself to be genuine and himself around her. He feels he has to protect and be tough all the time.

She is not looking or asking for that. She is looking for someone who will love, share, and is true to her, but especially will not cheat on her like her last boyfriend did. She is determined to be independent, strong, and a partner to and with the man she loves and expects the same. Summer didn’t come from a home like that and craves it.

She can’t seem to resist Rafe’s way of being dominant with her. How he is a force of nature and he seeks and serves like when he was in the military. He wants to worship her body, mind, and soul as he sweeps her off her feet. But he is like a tornado who can take hostages while still believing he is doing it all in your best interest.

When he loses his job, he spirals out of control and leaves her high and dry by going radio silent. As he tries to figure out his next move, yet he forgets he’s not part of just his SEAL team if he wants to be a part of her life too.

So, when he’s a no show she takes it as a no go for their relationship and she is done, and she cuts bait and bails. She is out of his life and runs. Just as he is ready to reengage. But when she leaves, she says it’s over. And leaves. But before he can explain she is in an accident and life changes.

Now he is but a memory of a shadow she can’t quite bring up. For now, she has no memory of him and her as a couple. She is whisked away by her wealthy family to heal. He has no clue where, so when he runs into her at a small diner in a small mountain town, he is surprised. He can’t believe his eyes. He has another chance. It’s all he can think about.

Totally enjoyed this book. The twist and turns

Were good. The characters were just what you needed for a second chance book. Just enough angst, sex, and hurt to go around.

The thing that bugged me is I don’t know if it was my download or the person who typed this copy for the author or the author themselves. But after the first couple of chapters I couldn’t take any longer it was bugging me so badly that I started recording it. The errors in the typing were horrible. Now mind you after the first couple of chapters logged in 1061 and those are just what I caught. But come one!

I give this: 4 stars. The errors alone bugged me that much otherwise a 5. Provided by netgalley.com.

Forgotten Love by J.M. Davies is the First book in the Bound By Love Series. This is the story of Rafe and Summer.

This is is second chance for him to protect her and work toward getting the girl. This book ends setting us up for the next installment in this series I felt.

Least favorite quote (from ARC):
"It wasn’t his style to approach a woman. Women flocked to him. He had his pick."

A story about second chances on love, with some tenderness and a strong emphasis on “hot, earth-shattering, all-consuming sex” and plenty of descriptions of the sexual attraction and activities between Rafe, the wounded hero, and Summer, the amnesiac heroine.
Some of the ingredients of this story appealed to me, but the execution didn’t, although other readers might enjoy it. I was a bit bored with the insistence on sex and the clichéd descriptions of Rafe’s alpha maleness (the “rugged warrior” who is an “absolute master of seduction”, the “gorgeous hunk” with a “magnificent body”, a “toned six-pack” and “beautiful sculpted cheeks”…).
Some dimensions felt cheesy and I didn’t care much about the heroine, suffering from retrograde amnesia, and who was too often drooling over the hero’s handsomeness.
More editing and an epilogue were needed. I’m curious about future stories featuring Rafe’s former SEAL buddies.

Thanks to author for providing this copy through Netgalley.

Well, it really was a Trainwreck! Sometimes I felt like author didn't know how to tie everything up.
MCs or were fucking together or just arguing about just everything.
Heroine had a amnesia. Hero wanted her back but heroine's parents prohibited it.
I mean, really??!! Wtf??!!
If you really love your girl you don't listen to some mean people.
Heroine tried to play it cool but for my taste she didn't try to hard. She was clingy.
A lot of typos. It was hard to read.
Cliffhanger...

Enjoayble read.

After an accident, Summer loses her memory so doesn't remember Rafe at all. But he has never been able to forget her, so will he get another chance with her now?

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This was my first experience reading this author's work and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a unique, dual POV, second-chance romance with a whole lot of twists and turns. No one has mentioned this, but I feel like this ended on a bit of a cliffhanger -- I'm really hoping we get more of a conclusion to Rafe and Summer's story in the next book in this series. If you're looking for a new author who knows how to write a steamy, sexy, interesting and angsty contemporary romance, I would definitely suggest Forgotten Love! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Forgotten Love is a second chance romance that tells of two people with a history, that one is determined not to repeat. Unfortunately for Raf, the inexplicable hold that Summer has on his heart, and the inherent danger that plagues her every move, will make walking away from this captivating woman an impossibly.

This is a well-written story with plenty of unresolved issues and a couple who are so perfect for each other, that you just want to shout, “wake up, and see what’s right in front of you”. An even balance of suspense, intrigue, and romantic angst ensure that the reader has plenty to keep them interested throughout the entire story. J.M Davies has penned a fabulous book that will definitely have me checking out more of her titles.
