Tillie Walden creates a surreal Texas with beautiful illustrations and a wide use of color unprecedented in her previous work. The story is less compelling than former ones, but still very enjoyable. Certainly my favorite part would be Walden's illustrations and characters. I can't wait to buy the book and read it again in print form as it was intended..

Tillie Walden just gets better and better with every book. She manages to combine painful explorations of emotion and identity with fantasy elements in a way that no one else does.

A fantastic graphic novel for a junior audience. "Are You Listening" has beautiful art and colorwork, coupled with a heartfelt story throughout.
