The book follows Maura and Brock from their younger days to present day. Twelve years ago their was a murder and Brock was wrongfully arrested for it and released within 24 hours. From that moment on Maura and Brock were no more and never talked again until more murders start happening at that same place. Going back musters up memories for them from the past both good and bad. Can they navigate their feelings while also trying to solve the cases at hand and figure out what really happened twelve years?!! Guess you gotta give it a read and see for yourself how everything plays out!

It’s a very short, fast paced, second chance, and paranormal mystery type of vibe. A great read if you’re looking for something short and to the point!

I found it rather hard to get into this book. It just fell pretty flat for me and couldn't hold my interest.

It starts out where Brock and Maura are teenagers in love and tragedy strikes and they are separated for years. When murders are happening at an old camp they worked at they are thrown back together and are working together to stop more murders from happening. I enjoyed this book and I liked each character separately but they did nothing for me together. It was a good book and it kept my interest.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Publisher for giving the chance to review this title.
I thought Tangled Threat was an okay read. There are other titles I liked better by Heather Graham.

I have read a lot of Heather Graham's books. This one was not my favorite. Maura and Brock had a relationship 12 years ago. Brock was arrested for a crime he did not commit. Maura's parents whisked her away and when Brock tried to contact her they blocked the contact. Brock is now an FBI agent and comes back to try to solved the murder from 12 years ago. The both still have feelings for each other. This was a fast paced book with little heat. I still enjoyed.

Received this book for an ARC for my honest review.

Tangled Threat is another GREAT book by author Heather Graham!!

This story is about going back to where a murder occurred twelve years earlier. Maura and Brock are back at the scene of the crime. You will not be able to put the book down until the very end. Thrilling and suspenseful this is a great read!

This book is a romantic suspense. I feel like there was way more of the romance than the suspense in this one. To me the romance which by the way is a second chance romance which I love, is the main focus of this book. There wasn't enough of the investigation included and what was included didn't ever point to who the bad guy was. Like I still don't know how they figured out who it was. I will say I guessed half of the reveal early on but the other part was a complete surprise to me. I totally wasn't expecting it. Overall this was a good read but it could have been better.

Tangled Threat was an interesting read that left me wondering why the author didn’t have more dialogue between the characters. I wanted more interaction between everyone but it wasn’t there. The one thing that this story did have was lots of explanation of the history of the resort but also the history of the surrounding areas. I loved the storyline and how it came together. The characters were well developed and were easy to connect with. I loved how it ended it was twisted and unexpected I really though I knew who had done it but I was totally wrong. That was the great part of the story I love how it totally got me I was shocked.

A second chance romance coupled with a murder mystery. The story was fine but there were plenty of characters and not a lot of depth to many of them. And the resolution to the mystery came from nowhere without much detail and wrapped up in a neat little bow within 2 pages.

Tangled Threat by Heather Graham is a romantic suspense book and I’ve become quite hit and miss with this genre. This story involved a second chance between the two main characters so I thought maybe it would be a real hit as I love romance characters with a history between them but alas that wasn’t the case.

Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern had been a couple twelve years before as they were both working at a resort. However when the pair had come across a dead body hanging from the what was known as the History tree the relationship quickly ended. Brock unfortunately was arrested for the murder of one of their co-workers and Maura’s parents quickly whisked her away from the deadly crime. Brock had been quickly cleared of the past crime and later went on to become an FBI agent.

Maura has now returned to the scene of that long ago murder being a video producer that has been working on a new project about historical macabre events. Maura never expected when she arrived at the resort she’d once worked at to find that Brock was also staying there now actually working a new crime of a mysterious disappearance.

Quite honestly for me I had a hard time getting into this story. The book is a short one and with trying to learn the past and present going on with these characters I never really felt myself caring about the couple or story the way I should with a suspense read. I personally chalked this one up to the fact that it was short it didn’t have enough depth to bring me really into the story leaving me to rate it at two and a half stars.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC. I really wanted to enjoy the story. And in theory it's all there for me to love: second chance romance, strange murders that may or may not be copycats of a murder that happened when the characters were about to graduate school, high suspense. It's there. Unfortunately I just couldn't really connect with the characters, especially Maura. I didn't truly believe in Maura and Brock making it as a couple the second time either. Thankfully this was a pretty quick read. Hopefully I'll enjoy other works by Graham more.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

My father in law got very sick and my focus was too shattered to try and read. I will likely try again some day when my attention is stronger

Maura Antrim runs into Brock McGovern after a twelve-year separation. They were childhood sweetheart separated due to a false accusation against Brock. After their separation, Brock experience sends him to join the FBI. Maura builds a career in filmmaking. The couple’s careers bring them back to where they lost each other, when another group of women disappears. Brock is the FBI agent investigating crimes very similar to the one that caused his arrest. Maura is filming. Maura and Brock team up to solve the mysterious disappearances and work through their past.

Tangled Threat is a good mystery with a second chance romance to boot. It does not take long for the couple to pick up where they left off. I’m not sure that is realistic, but it works for these characters. The author does an excellent job building the chemistry between these two characters.

The mystery is rather complicated, although I did guess the culprit early on. I’m not sure if it was a good guess on my part or the author wanted the reader to jump there, while she throws in clues that made me rethink my theory.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters held my attention from the start. As a second chance lover, I couldn’t help but hope that Maura and Brock find a way back together. There aren’t a lot of surprises, but the mystery is solid and made the pages turn quickly.

I love the scenic background that Heather Graham gives the reader. As a new Floridian, I followed up with additional research and plan to take a few day trips around the state.

If you like a good mystery with a bit of second chance romance as the cherry on top, grab Tangled Threat as your next escape. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to find this new-to-me author. I will search for more by her in the future.

Not my most favorite of Ms. Graham's stories. I had a lot of trouble getting through the book. I skimmed pages and chapters to get to the end. I do still like the author and will definitely continue to read her stories but this one is not for me.
