Trent Campbell was living a fast and free life in the Rodeo circuit until an angry bull took him out of the game. A broken bull rider who discovers his 5-year-old pint-size mini-me in Last Stand, TX, alongside the woman he has not been able to forget for 5 long years. Misunderstandings and miscommunications and well so much more kept these two apart but fate brought them back to the Last Stand at the same time. Will the power of a small child, a good woman, who has overcome a great deal and life in general be able to heal this man and a family?

She tried to contact him multiple times but she was brushed off and he never called her back. So she thought Trent never wanted to meet her daughter so she stop trying. When she is back, she finds Trent is renting part of Ranch, she wasn't sure if she was ready to tell him their daughter.
Trent never forgotten his memorable night with Kelly but he lost his phone and never get back to her until he saw him again at the ranch. He never thought she would find her again.. Now he wants another chance with Kelly and a chance at happy family.
Kelly's father is getting in the way of everything and he won't make things easy for Kelly and Trent. Plus they have to figure out how they are going to make it work with their daughter. Will they save the ranch and finally find their happily ever after.
It was pretty interesting beginning of the series. I really liked Kelly and Trent. I can't wait to read about her sisters.

This was a sentimental read. I love anything to do with daddy’s girls. I also love cowboy books so this was a double whammy for me. I look forward to reading more by this author.

She’s moved home, but can she move on? One night with professional bull rider Trent Campbell had been everything that Kelly Sullivan had fantasized about. Unfortunately, it cost her everything. When she became pregnant, her father threw her out because she wouldn’t tell him the baby’s father was his rodeo hero—the hero who ghosted her when she tried so many times to tell him about their daughter. Trent Campbell never forgot the best night of his life. It was what kept him going when a 2,000-lbs bull ended his career and almost his life. Throughout his long recovery, thinking of Kelly and wishing he still had his stolen phone so he could contact her, were what got him through the tough days—that, and his bull-headed stubbornness that he’d not only walk again, he’d ride. When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas, in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by turning part of the land into a portrait studio location. Her father, however, has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into her life, it won’t only be her heart he breaks this time if he leaves, it will be their daughter’s.
This was a fast-paced secret baby story that I actually enjoyed. That trope is usually more miss than hit for me, but I really liked this story. I liked both main characters and the overall story. I recommend.

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. the cowboy' s daughter is the first book I have read by this author and overall it was enjoyable. Trent and Kelly hooked up and Kelly ended up pregnant but had to raise their daughter alone. now Kelly is back in tx to help save her father's farm, the same farm on which Trent is opening his bull riding school now that he can no longer compete after a devastating injury. there is no real conflict just a few attempts at creating tension but a good way to send a few hours.

Having had a tumultuous relationship with her father, she hopes bringing her daughter, Alissa, will be a buffer. The Cowboy's daughter is the first in the author's Three sisters Ranch series.

Kelly Sullivan was kicked out of the family home when she refused to name the father of her child. She couldn't tell her father that the man who impregnated her was his rodeo hero and that the man had ignored her attempts to contact him. Now five years later, Kelly is returning home with her daughter to try and help save the family ranch.

Trent Campbell is a former bull rider whose career was prematurely ended by an enraged bull. After recovering from his injuries, he is ready to get back into the ring. When Trent runs into the woman, he slept with right before his accident, he can't believe his luck. His phone had been stolen, so he had no way of contacting the woman he could not forget.

This book was an okay read, and I probably would have given it a higher rating if I hadn't read a book right after that followed the same trope and I enjoyed more. This book was predictable, and I found the characters quite bland. This book is definitely a holiday book, one you can bring along and enjoy but leave behind when you leave.

I received an arc of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The story was good or I would not have finished it. Had to do a lot of skipping as for me there was too much explicit sex. I will not read this author again due to that. I really did enjoy the story, however.

I enjoyed this book more than I though I would. It reads so easily and smoothly. I find so many romance novels feel the need to use a lot of filler to get a high page count, but this didn't have any of that so it could focus solely on the story and characters. I also appreciated that Trent was so open to accepting the events of the past rather than holding a grudge against Kelly. It was also so refreshing to have Alissa be a normal 5 year old rather than a precocious child who is wise beyond her years. I am a sucker for a good devoted dad and Trent filled that role very well. He's patient and understanding with Kelly and so excited to be a dad to Alissa.

The only part I didn't really like was the obligatory running away of one of the characters when things get tough, but I was so so glad that it was resolved quickly rather than being dragged out.

The hints at what the other books in the series will focus on was nice and definitely has me interested in reading the Janice and Emily's stories.

Kelly is kicked off her father's sprawling ranch when she becomes a single mohther and refuses to say who the father is .She recurves a call from their father that the ranch is being sold and to come home one last time. Kelly makes plans to rent photography studio on the ranch land to help save the ranch along with plans from her sisters.Trent ,an ex pro bull rider is the father of Alissa and around town where the ranch is. Trent lost his phone after he hooked up with her part of reason he never called her again.Trent never received any of Kelly's messages about the baby. I was anxious to see how Trent would take the news when he found out he was father.

Kelly has a daughter as a result of a fantasy fulfilling one night stand with rodeo star Trent Campbell. At the time she tried to get a hold of him to tell him about the pregnancy but he ghosted her. That pregnancy cost her everything.... her education and the respect of her family. So she head off to her Aunt to raise her baby away from her family. Now 6 year later she is back to help save the family ranch. Trent just happens to be leasing land for his riding school from her dad on their ranch. A near fatal injury made him retire early and have to move on to a new profession. When they meet up the attraction and crazy pull is still there. He never forgot the one that got away. She hates him for ghosting her when she needed him most. If she tells him he has a daughter will he forgive her? If he can explain why she could not get a hold of him, will she forgive him? It just might take a ailing ranch and a charming 6 year old to give this couple a second chance. Great read.

This was an enjoyable story of a family and their dynamics. How wills as much as actions can tear a family apart.

Yet, there was more than one set of hurts working here for Kelly. You see Kelly had followed bull riders because her dad did. Being the oldest of three girls she idolized her dad. The one rider the followed with vigor was and was their favorite of all time, he was a hometown boy Trent Campbell.

He was a local boy who made good. He was a boy who was two years ahead of Kelly and her sisters. They didn’t run in any of the same circles. At one of the rodeos, she met Trent. And they hit it off.

Then ended up having a “one & done” and like all his others he took her picture. Adding her name and number to his phone so he could call her. She and Trent did phone calls and quite a few sext messages too. But when they fell off no biggie. They both knew their schedules were getting busy due to his rodeo season and her college term.

When Kelly found out she was pregnant at twenty-two she called and texted many times. She left messages and even called his manager, more than once. At six months she had to tell her family. Yet, when she chose to not tell them who the father was her father kicked her out of the house. Her mother just watched.

She just couldn’t add insult to injury to both men. To her father by losing his idol bull rider and Trent when her father went after him and forced him to be a father. Especially, when he had already just tangled with the worst of all bulls on the circuit and lost. Now he was fighting to learn to walk if ever again.

Now, running into him while she was enjoying herself while with a couple of high school friends, what were the odds? On the first night home, no less. She can’t even speak because one she is amazed, he remembered her after six years. Another part is pissed, thinking how ballsy of him after ghosting her and denying his daughter.

See how this reunion goes. See if the two of them can mend fences. See if he ever knew about his daughter.

I enjoyed the enter action between father and daughter. I just wish at some point the parent would have seen the error of his ways, but as a friend once said you can’t teach stupid. Just walk away. You will be the better for it calmer, happier, and taught their children fighting with your hands or with your words are not the answers. Walk away. I do feel it would have been nice if this book had an epilogue for there were things that were left undone.

I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.

First Book in the Three Sister Ranch Series. A great way to start off! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I find I love when there is a child involved as it gives a sweetness to the story and a different dynamic of just the second chance romance. Jamie Schmidt wrote a hero who is not perfect, he is a man that has and continues to deal with pain. It was written very well. This is the kind of book I love, I start reading and can't stop until it ends! I will definitely be looking for the next book in this series!

The Cowboy’s Daughter is a testament to internal strength and fighting demons. Kelly Sullivan returns home after a distressing call from her estranged father claiming he is selling the family ranch she grew up on and loves. Towing her daughter with her, Kelly returns to the cruelness of her father who could never forgive her for her teen pregnancy. No one knows the father of the little girl but Kelly. Of course, the girl’s father has also returned to Last Stand and Kelly can no longer hide the truth from him. Deception kept them apart and love brings them back full circle.
It is a great story of so many second chances: Kelly and Trent; Kelly and her father; the survival of the ranch.

A good story. Kelly has returned home to Texas, with her young daughter in tow. Her parents gave her and her two sisters a call, to come home as the ranch needs help. After her father kicked her out for being pregnant years ago, there are no warm fuzzy feelings for Kelly. Along comes Trent, the father of her child, who didn't know she was pregnant with his daughter. Twists and turns of course, but overall I really enjoyed this story and the characters and would recommend it. Great summer read.
