The Cowboy’s Daughter grabbed my attention from the get-go. The family issues, the romance between Trent and Kelly, Trent dealing with healing (physically and mentally) all flowed into a page turning Summer read. While the ending was somewhat predictable, it was disappointing to not have closure concerning Trent’s dad. I have my suspicions about who it is so I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see if my prediction is correct.

This is Kelly and Trent's Story. It is the first of the new series Three Sisters Ranch. Kelly and Trent met and had a one night stand. Trent is a playboy bull rider and Kelly is the "good daughter". When she ends up pregnant her Dad kicks her off the ranch and she moves to NY to raise her child until Dad says he has to sell the ranch. Kelly has no idea she will run into Trent, who she believes wants nothing to do with his daughter. There were some hits and miss with this story. It is a kinda instant love for them, as they never forgot about each other, but when she try to contact Trent about being pregnant, his manager told her Trent didn't want a child...this is where the miscommunication began and I really hated that his manager Billy really didn't get fired or something like that. I did like the second chance romance, but I didn't like the added possible other children out there as why they can't get together. I wanted more father/daughter angst. I wanted to know why her father was like he was. 3 1/2 stars
We met all the sisters in this book and looking forward to reading their stories, hopeful we will learn more in each book.

It has been several years since I reviewed a book by Jamie K. Schmidt. The last one was titled Heat, which was a perfect title because it contained a great amount of heat within the story. So of course, I was interested to see what this author would write for Tule Publishing with it new Last Stand, Texas setting. The first of the Three Sisters Ranch Series is titled The Cowboy's Daughter. The story has a sweet adorable little girl with one grandfather I couldn’t stand. The three sisters and the cowboy were all likable though.

For the most part the story flowed with miscommunications, sweet love that turned steamy with plenty of family drama. Just when I thought I understood where the conflict in the story was coming from another character or event was added. It kept this story unpredictable and interesting.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Cowboy’s Daughter is the first book in a series called Three Sisters Ranch by Jamie K Schmidt. The book set on a ranch in Texas called Three Sisters Ranch. The father has sent a message to all three of his daughters telling him he is going to lose the ranch and they need to come home. Kelly left home five years ago when her father threw her out of the house for being pregnant and not sharing the father’s name.

Kelly is living in NYC with her daughter Alissa and her aunt. She comes rushing back to the ranch with a plan to help save it with a new business, only to find Trent Campbell has rented part of the ranch for his training business. He was Kelly’s infamous one night stand that produced her darling daughter Alissa. Too bad he doesn’t care (or so she thinks), because she can still feel the sparks. Trent has had a very serious accident since he was with Kelly that has taken him years to heal and now he is ready to start a new business.

The story is a simple love story with some hot scenes. Everything seems to move too quickly, as it does with a number of books like this. The father of Kelly seems to be a rather nasty creature who seems to be deliberately cruel and I suspect is hiding a some secret.

I enjoyed the story and will look for the next books in the series. The Cowboy’s Daughter by Jamie K Schmidt was a good read.

Five years prior to the start of the book, Trent and Kelly hooked up one night after a rodeo competition in town. He was the local boy made good, she was the daughter of a rancher. They both felt major sparks and texted for a little while afterward, but then, unbeknownst to Kelly, Trent's phone was stolen and he stopped replying to her. She thought he was ghosting her, especially when she then found out she was pregnant. She made several attempts to contact him, then contacted his manager, but was given the brush off, so she gave up. Her parents turned their backs on her but she has a good life in working as a photographer in NYC with her aunt, loves her daughter, and is relatively happy.

After 5 years Kelly is drawn back to the ranch on the news that her parents are about to lose it due to bankruptcy. When she arrives home, she discovers Trent has signed a contract with her father to open a rodeo school. As soon as they meet again, sparks fly just as they did the last time. The only problem is that Trent has no idea he has a daughter.

I love secret baby plots as long as the reason for the secret was realistic as it was in this case. I also loved Trent's determination to move on from a serious injury that decimated his health and his bank balance, and Kelly's determination to help her family. The book was a good read, but I did have an issue with how quickly people were forgiven. Trent punched his manager when he found out the manager had kept Kelly from him when she was pregnant, but otherwise never really held him responsible. As for Kelly's dad, who threw her out when he found out she was pregnant, he was an absolute a**, who did not redeem himself in any way. She dropped her entire life to try to help him with his financial difficulties, and he never even thanked her or acknowledged it. I also thought the relationship between Trent and Kelly picked up really quickly, and I didn't feel a strong connection between them.

This is a new author for me but I'm a sucker for a cowboy romance. Kelly and Trent spent one night together over five years ago. When she discovered she was pregnant, she got in touch with Trent directly and through his Manager with no response to the news of his impending fatherhood. She tried once more to contact him, but he never responded so she gave up and went on with her life.

Trent's phone was lost and his Manager thought she was just another buckle bunny looking for money. Flash forward to current day as Kelly returns home with her daughter to help her parents save the family ranch only to discover that her dad rented a portion of the land to Trent who's opening a bull riding school.

They have to overcome misunderstandings, family history, and friendly intervention to forge a new relationship for the good of mother, father and daughter. The ending was a bit abrupt, but overall a good story.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinion.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I adore this type of book and this story is a beautiful example of a heart-felt one with everyday people. Trent is a bull-rider and Kelly is a photographer. Kelly and Trent shared one night together after a rodeo in their hometown. They would call and text each other and slowly those decreased with two busy schedules. Unfortunately Trent's phone was stolen so when Kelly discovered she was pregnant, she had to call his manager, Billy. Billy, being a diligent manager, effectively held the buckle bunnies (and Kelly) away from Trent. The coming together of these two people had it turbulence but it was a joy to read.

I adored 5 year old Alissa. She was just a lovable girl. I look forward to more wonderful stories about the other two sisters from the Three Sisters Ranch and their journeys to a HEA.

What a great beginning to a series.

Read it. Loved it. The depth of characterization is beautiful. The story feels rich and real. Two flawed individuals with a daughter thrown in that have a chance at a second chance of romance and must overcome their past to love. I found this book to be really refreshing and an absolute joy to read. Happy reading everyone!!!

In the eyes of her father, Trent could do no wrong. Strong. Forceful. Full of passion. And a bright future in the rodeo. How could she tell him that Trent was the father of her child? But when she was thrown out of the only home she had ever known, Kelly reached out to Trent for help and support. Receiving none, she forged out on her own. How will she survive coming back to the small town she grew up in? How will she face the love who rejected her needs? Fraught with emotion, this story about rejection and possibility will tug at the heartstrings.

This is the first book I have read by Jamie K. Schmidt and it will not be my last. I loved the story and the characters. There was a lot of intrigue and wondering how the story was going to end. I am so glad there is a second book coming out in this series.

Kelly Sullivan is such a strong willed character who just wants her father's love and approval. She was devastated five years ago when her father threw her out because she was pregnant and would not tell him who the father was. She has now returned to Texas with her cute daughter, Alissa to help her father's ranch from having to be sold. Her two sisters also return to help the ranch.

Kelly then finds out Alissa's father, Trent Campbell, a bull rider, has leased land from her father to start a bull riding school after he was injured by a bull and can no longer bull ride. He does not know Alissa is his daughter.
Once Kelly gets over her anger towards Trent that has been brewing for over five years there are several steamy scenes between them. She thought Trent had rejected her and her child but Trent never knew Kelly was pregnant. This bothers Trent because he never knew who his dad was.

You will have to read the book to find out how Kelly's father reacts to Trent being the father of his granddaughter. Trent has always been a bull riding idol to Kelly's dad, Frank Sullivan. I was surprised by the ending but I really liked it. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

At first I found the book quite predictable, but that’s where it’s stops. After the first few chapters the author put a fun spin on things and kept my interest throughout. I wanted to know what was happening and where she was going next in the story. I loved the three sisters they were fun to read about and have their own independent attitude but also take no prisoners or it’s all of them or nothing. Alissa that small part she appeared in the story he personality just jumped off the pages. I was not a fan at all of Frank even in the end I felt like he got what was coming to him and I was over him. This book does have strong language and sex, but otherwise a really good book. I would totally recommend this fun and quick read can’t wait to see what happens next at three sister ranch.

First off, I'm in love with this cover. It just drew me right in. A second chance romance. Kelly, single mom has returned home to Three Sister Ranch with her five year old daughter, Alissa. Kelly was never able to get in touch with Alissa's dad, professional bull rider, Trent. Little does Kelly know that her dad has leased some of his property to Trent. Now all Trent wants to do is make things right and become a dad to Alissa.

Loved this book, great story line that kept my interest through out the book. The chemistry between Kelly and Trent is hot. Once I started this story I could not put down. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

The Cowboy's Daughter by Jamie K. Schmidt
She’s moved home, but can she move on?
One night with professional bull rider Trent Campbell had been everything that Kelly Sullivan had fantasized about. Unfortunately, it cost her everything. When she became pregnant. her father threw her out because she wouldn’t tell him the baby’s father was his rodeo hero—the hero who ghosted her when she tried so many times to tell him about their daughter.
Trent Campbell never forgot the best night of his life. It was what kept him going when a 2,000-lbs bull ended his career and almost his life. Throughout his long recovery, thinking of Kelly and wishing he still had his stolen phone so he could contact her, were what got him through the tough days—that, and his bull-headed stubbornness that he’d not only walk again, he’d ride.
When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas, in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by turning part of the land into a portrait studio location. Her father, however, has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into her life, it won’t only be her heart he breaks this time if he leaves, it will be their daughter’s.
This is Kelly Sullivan and Trent Campbell's story.
When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by starting her own portrait studio. However, her father has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school.
Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry that led to their own night stand, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into their lives, it could damage the tentative truce with her father—especially if Trent is going to ride off into the sunset taking not only her heart, but this time their daughter’s heart along with him.
Trent and Kelly are riding out to take stock of the condition the Three Sisters Ranch is in. Unfortunately, Trent's injuries make horseback riding difficult. But do you think he's going to tell her that?
It was now or never. Trent eyed Sunflower and the pretty thing eyed him back with a sweet, but dim look. That was something at least.
“Do you want a step ladder?” Kelly asked, concerned.
His hip went, YES, I DO. His pride went,no.
“Nah, I got this.” Please look away. Of course, she didn’t.
Trent gritted his teeth and put his foot in the stirrup, and swung his leg over. It wasn’t the prettiest mount he’d ever done, but he was up there and he was planning on staying that way. He’d worry about dismounting when the time came.
I highly recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

It’s ironic that it is often the small things in life that can change our destiny. Take Trent and Kelly, for example, they’d had one amazing, connecting night together. Each fell hard, each believed that night was the start of something amazing. They went their separate ways, each thinking it was only temporary yet when Trent’s phone was stolen shortly after he was unable to contact the woman who had such an impact on his life. And Kelly’s calls went unanswered, the calls that might have changed everything in between then and now. Yeah, life sure does hold a sucker-punch in the wings for us it often seems.

If I wasn’t already hooked and addicted to Tule’s Texas Born imprint’s creation of this small town of Last Stand, Texas with connecting series, then THE COWBOY’S DAUGHTER would have guaranteed it. Trent’s and Kelly’s story is realistic, believable and the broken trust, the pain both physical and emotional very real, and the connections between the characters so vibrant that even the secondary characters come to life. Dumb stuff happens in life, parents make decisions that will affect their children for years, and yes, those decisions are sometimes harsh and regretted. All of that plus the very real life-long effects of Trent’s injury has a sense of peeking into someone’s life, someone you know and care about.

I liked these characters, adored a little 5-year-old who often stole scenes, even sort of understood Kelly’s father’s reactions although I’m not sure I could have forgiven them (but that’s me). There are more stories to be told in the Three Sisters Ranch series, and I definitely am looking forward to discovering even more about this family. I’ve been vague on some details for although I had a blast with this romance I also feel that you should discover this one on your own. Take a chance on THE COWBOY’S DAUGHTER, you’ll find a believable couple, a realistic situation and a story that will draw you in and leave you wanting more.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

A small window into the world of ranching and rodeos. They may have nothing to do with each other but the folks who own a ranch and those participating in rodeos eventually all come together on Three Sisters Ranch. Trent is recovering from a bull ride gone wrong and needs to find a new purpose for his life. Then there’s Kelly who’s been living far from home because of her stubborn father’s outlook that he rules supreme over the ranch and everyone within. Trent and Kelly endure so much more than mere ups and downs in their relationship. It’s more like a rough beat down, dragged further down, fight. The romance blooms throughout into a much better and stronger bond.
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and volunteer review.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I loved reading another book from Last Stand Texas, especially one of my favorite secret baby genre. In this book we meet Kelly and her 5 year old daughter Alissa. Kelly got pregnant after a one night stand with her rodeo crush Trent Campbell. Kelly tried repeatedly to let him know at the time but he didn’t return her calls and his manager never gave him the news. Because she wouldn’t tell her parents who the father was, her dad threw her out without any money or support. Her aunt took her in and she had stayed with her since she left. She works as a photographer in NYC. Her father summoned her and her 2 sisters to return with the news that they were losing the ranch and they had to come up with a plan. Unbeknownst to Kelly, her dad had also rented land to Trent to open a training facility as he was injured and couldn’t be in the rodeo any longer. Trent had his phone stolen years before so he didn’t get Kelly’s messages. She eventually tells him about his daughter. This leads to some angst and great character interactions. I enjoyed the new series and look forward to reading more about the Sullivan Family. I enjoy the steamy scenes as well. Ms. Schmidt did a great job writing this story and the characters in it. The secret baby story was wonderful.

If you are looking for a cowboy second chance romance that will give you all the feels look no further than The Cowboy’s Daughter Book 1 in the new Three Sisters Ranch Series.
Kelly comes home to the family ranch believing her family are about to lose it, her father has got all three of his daughters home under the pretext of the ranch is going to be repossessed. Kelly is determined to save the family home but when she comes face to face with the man who not only broke her heart all those years ago but who also denied all knowledge of his daughter she feels like packing up and taking her daughter back to New York.
Trent is just getting back on his feet after a horrific accident on his last bull ride and he is renting some land on the ranch to start a bull riding school and the last thing he expects is to find out the girl that he believed walked away has turned up with a daughter in tow.
A heartwarming romance with plenty of misunderstandings and an adorable 5 year old all make this book a great read. It’s emotional, it’s witty and at times it’s heartbreaking but I loved the characters and the plot and I’m really looking forward to book 2 in this series.
