Making Up is part of the Shacking Up series that follows Griffin Mills, the eldest of the Mills brothers and Cosy, a college student and sales associate at an adult toy store. The two meet when Griffin is tasked to buy a whole lot of kinky toys for a bachelor party.⁣

Griffin is totally drawn in by Cosy & Cosy is smitten as well but they have a few obstacles to overcome. One being the decade age gap and another being Griffin's crazy ex. This book brings the DRAMA, there were at least 3 points in the book where my jaw dropped. I really enjoyed how different Griffin's character is than his brothers, he is definitely more reserved but still an alpha as you would expect a Mills brother to be. Cosy was a breath of fresh air, not at all enticed by Griffin's wealth, and a generally fun & humorous character. The two of them go through A LOT in a short time and I felt that Cosy acted maturely through it all. 😍⁣

All in all, I loved the drama of this one and I felt it complimented the rest of the series.⁣

I feel like I've been missing out as I've only read a couple of this authors books.

You won't be able to stop yourself falling for Cosy and Griffin that are just adorable. This was such an easy book to read. At times hilarious and at others emotional overload. There is a sweet charm to this quirky book. Cosy is the friend every girl wants on their side. Griffin is the uptight sexy businessman we all want waiting in the bedroom for us.

The angst is slow but the passion is simmering throughout. This is Vegas and what happens in Vegas stays there. Right??

Making Up is Helena's fantastic new standalone romantic comedy, which is also Book #4 in her Shacking Up series. I don't usually read books like this, don't get me wrong, I like them but they're not usually my first choice... but I really needed to read this. It was laugh-out-loud, heaps of fun and sexy as hell. It REALLY made me smile. I LOVED IT.

I have yet to read a Helena Hunting book I didn’t absolutely love. Cosy and Griffin were fantastic, both hurt from past relationships, both finding their own ways to deal with what life threw at them. From the start, their time together was perfect, a slow build to something that warmed my heart. I loved them both, individually and as they came together.

With more than a decade between them, their various ways of dealing with life wasn’t a big surprise, but it was so on key with how they should have been. Cosy was young and fun and unwilling to settle in one place, Griffin was older and wiser, though impulsive and different because of the way his family’s fortune allowed him to live. These two were so sweet, and I was pulling for them through everything that was thrown at them.

Another fantastic book I’m so glad I was able to read!

Making Up is make you laugh out-loud read. I loved the characters of Cosy and Griffin - they couldn't be more opposite, but the storyline and how they interacted worked out perfectly. I'm a fan of Helena Hunting's books, because she guarantees you a steamy, sweet and sexy read, with a lot of humor.

If you know me, then you'll know that one of my favorite male heroes ever in romance is Helena Hunting's Lex from Hooking Up. It was the first book I ever read from Helena and from there began my love affair with her writing! She writes such down-to-earth, hilarious, and relateable characters. I was so excited that she decided to write more in the Shacking Up series because Griffin is the last Mills brother for us readers to meet, and that also means I get to see snippets of the other couples that I've met and loved (ok, let's be serious, I wanted more Lex any way I could get him). This follows Griffin who has recently been broken up with by his fiancee who travels to Vegas for work (he's a hotel mogul). While there he is sent to a sex-shop to get some gag gifts for a bachelor party. There he meets Cosy, the sales person, and he's immediately drawn to her. They had a really adorable meet cute, and I knew I liked her from the very beginning. She's very sassy, but also very vulnerable. From there, they decide on a no-strings attached relationship, but that never goes as planned does it? While I love Helena's writing and I did love both characters a lot, there were moments when I felt the drama was too much to handle in the book. I felt like this couple could not catch a break at all. I will say it does remind me again too that age is just a number, and it's more about how you feel that is important. However, despite the drama, you also really see the importance of family come through with the Mills family, and I loved seeing them all together again. You also get to meet Lincoln, who is Armstrong's brother, and the male lead of the next book in the series, Handle with Care (which comes out next month!!). If you are a Helena Hunting fan, you'll def enjoy this read. It's fun, laugh-out-loud funny, and sexy!

I'm really sad but this is my least favorite book from Helena, and I have loved all her books! This one started really good, I loved how Cosy and Griffin met, they have a great connection and the story was sweet and sexy!

However, I feel that there was too much drama for my taste!I find myself struggling a little bit with everything and I didn't enjoy the story as much as I wanted! The rating is mostly for the characters because I really loved them!

Starting the next one really soon and I hope I like it!

Helena Hunting has surpassed all of my expectations for this book. From the start I was 100% invested in Cosy and Griffin’s story. They are pulled to one another and compliment one another so well. I love that they don’t just immediately fit together. They have to work at their relationship and be 100% vulnerable with the other. And when they are together the sexual tension is off the charts. I could not put this book down because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. If you are looking for a new read, this is the book for you!!!

Cosy meets interesting people all the time working at an adult toy store, but when Griffin walks in, he effects her in a way no one has before. She is instantly attracted to him but can tell from his clothes that he is way out of her league. But just when she thinks that they won’t meet again, he shows up and changes her life.

Griffin can’t get the woman from the adult toy store out of his mind. He is always known to do the right thing and never rock the boat, but Cosy is different. She pushes him to be more carefree and to look at life differently. Yes there is an age difference, but what is age when you have chemistry.

As they navigate their relationship during the time they have together, they both can’t help but wonder what if they could make it work for longer than a few months. But what will happen when Griffin’s past comes back and changes the new life he has finally started? Will he be able to move on and be with the one he loves? Or will fate have a different idea?

My cheeks still hurt from smiling so hard at Making Up. It had everything I love in a Helena Hunting book- a sassy and sarcastic heroine. A hero with a big ego but bigger heart. A hair of drama and loads of laughs.

I adored Cosy and her brand of awkward. But she also lived life on her own terms and didn't apologize for who she was. To say the way that her and Griffin met was unconventional would be an understatement. They came from vastly different worlds and that was what made it the perfect recipe for a whole lot of fun and fornicating and fighting and in turn, forgiveness.

Though their lives were totally pulling them one way or the other, Griffin and Cosy were just what each other needed. Both of their hearts were so big that they made the hard choices when they had to. Even when doing the right thing put their own happiness on the back burner.

Let me just say that Helena Hunting gave this book the perfect title (you'll see). From start to finish, Making Up was a true delight to read. There was humor and heat and so much heart. I couldn't help but root for Cosy and Griffin to get over their preconceived notions about each others status and just be together. And that ending, the flutters and giggles are still in full force just thinking about it.

This book was exactly what I didn't know I needed. So this has been a super stressful, bad week and I picked this up thinking it would be funny along the lines of the pucked series. And when I first started it and realised it was a little more serious and emotional I was a little disappointed.

Then once I stopped worrying about what it wasn't like I was so involved. I adored Cosy. She was such a great character. I really loved everything about her, she was just so much her own person I felt like I could reach out and hug her.

Griffin was awesome too. He was so upfront with his feelings and what he wanted. I loved that he didn't play games or try to play it cool. Maybe he didn't communicate some things very openly but it wasn't done to hide things it was purely to prevent Cosy from freaking out and I liked that he was worried about her. And as soon as it came out he apologised and explained.

So even though I didn't get what I wanted I absolutely got what I needed and I ended up loving every word. And now I am even more excited that netgalley has granted me Handle With Care so I will be trying to find a quiet corner to read in.

My Thoughts:

Helena Hunting is such a fun author! It never fails, but every time I read her stories, she has me laughing, swooning, grinning, and enjoying my reading experience!

Making Up is part of the Shacking Up Series, but it can be read as a standalone. The main characters were extremely likeable. Cosy Fallon was such a delight. She was a free spirit, lacked pretense, was down to earth, lived life in the moment, and had an exuberance and enthusiasm for life that was refreshing! Griffin Mills was a hard worker, serious, sexy, honest, devoted, a planner, gave his all, and had been heartbroken after his four year relationship and engagement had ended.

When Griffin draws the short straw and has to buy the gag gifts for his friend's bachelor party he finds himself attracted to the beautiful, fun, and spirited salesgirl, Cosy. She is also attracted to the gorgeous and sexy Griffin, who decides to pursue her when he can't stop thinking about her, despite the eleven year age difference.

Griffin is in Las Vegas on business for a couple of months before he returns to where he lives in New York. Cozy is happy with having a fun fling, because she's not ready for a serious relationship. However, soon Cozy and Griffin find their feelings for one another growing stronger, and external problems begin to challenge their happiness as a couple...

Making Up was such a light-hearted story! I enjoyed the fact that Cosy and Griffin were opposites. They complimented one another perfectly. I continuously swooned and sighed from watching Griffin sweep Cosy off of her feet. I found myself wearing a dopey smile for most of the book, and could easily see how the charismatic Griffin charmed Cosy, because he charmed me too. Cosy was such a wonderful character as well. She was the type of woman, that woman are also drawn to. I would love to have a friend like Cosy. Her sense of adventure and excitement made being in her presence a real treat!

The chemistry between Cosy and Griffin was off the charts. These two sizzled, and their attraction was palpable. Being together was effortless in the way they just fit perfectly. Helena Hunting's signature bawdy sense of humor and use of innuendo and suggestive insinuation was a lot of fun as well! She had me cracking up repeatedly. In case you couldn't tell; I loved this story. If you like your romances sweet and spicy, this is one I'd highly recommend.

This was a fantastic romantic comedy. Fun, sweet, sexy filled with LOL moments, and packed with hilariously awkward moments, drama, romance, love and a sizzling chemistry that jumps off the pages. This story quirky charm pulls you in and doesn’t let you go until the last page.

These two are complete opposites but do they work well together. Cosy is a young vibrant, sassy, smart, twenty-two year old, who is still in college and working part-time at a sex toy warehouse. She has never had a serious relationship and really doesn’t want one. Griffin is in his early thirty’s and has just come out of a serious relationship. He comes from a wealthy family that is in the hotel business. His time in Las Vegas is limited and will be leaving soon.

But Griffin is taken by Cosy’s beauty and her upbeat personality she is everything that he needs and wants. But even though Cosy is attracted to him she is reluctant about seeing him because of their age difference. They finally agree to keep it simple and they take it slow. But the drama, they must deal with seems to be never ending, and before they both know it, they have fallen. I loved watching them fall, and so will you! Don’t pass this book by!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What happens in Vegas should always stay in Vegas unless it is finding your soulmate in the aisle of an adult toy shop. Cosey and Griffin start off their relationship with shyness and a lack of comfort but make up for it with a perfect combination of understanding and warmth. The book not only had great characters and a storyline that I could not put down it also included moments of ridiculously funny humor and wiping tears from your eyes heart warming moments. From beginning to end this is another wonderful read from Helena Hunting.

Griffin Mills, heir to hotel empire finds himself in a very awkward position when he has to purchase items from an adult toy store, in Vegas, for a bachelor party. What’s a little more awkward is his attraction to the sales woman in the store. Hot off the hills of a heartbreaking engagement, the last thing Griffin needs is to get involved in a relationship, especially with someone who’s nothing like his type. She’s from a completely different social background, she’s a little rough around the edges and she too young; but there’s something about Cosy that won’t let him walk away.
Working in an adult toy store isn’t her dream job, but for Cosy Felton, it pays the rent and helps her finish her degree. When well-dressed, straight-laced Griffin walks in she can tell right away there’s something different about him; but then again, she was born and raised in Vegas, she’s pretty much seen it all and considering the rich sleaze bags her older sister has been known to date, she knows looks can be deceiving. When Griffin returns to the shop asking for a date a leaving his number with her, Cosy can’t help but to give into the temptation that is Griffin. After all, he’s only in Vegas for a few months and she plans on leaving town after graduation so why not have a little fun for a few months?
With neither of them anxious to commit to a relationship they both agree to give this one a try since it has an expiration date. They are both going into this knowing where it ends. Unfortunately for them, the more time they spend together the more they feel for each other. Not to mention, Griffin’s past keeps coming back to bite him in the ass and give Cosy just the reasons she needs to not get attached, except she’s already attached.
This is the fourth book in the Shacking Up Series and with this group of Mills’, Moorehead’s, and Whitfield’s each story gets better and better. Cosy kind of comes off as a little flakey but she’s not and she’s very likable. My initial mental image of Griffin in this book is nerdy but if I remember correctly in the previous books where he’s mentioned he seemed to be a little uptight (he’s a little uptight in this book) but it was easy to see him break out of mold. They were both goofy and humorous and I think their chemistry was great. I enjoyed reading about these two and I’m anxious to read about the rest of this group.
I believe Lincoln’s story is up next, he’s Griffin’s and Bancroft’s brother, and I’m anxious to read his story too. The most intriguing character of this series for me so far is Armstrong Moorehead, he has been nothing but a complete douche whenever he’s mentioned in this series but I swear there’s a story there somewhere, and part of me wonders if it’s not somehow related to Nev, Cosy’s sister.
Great read.

Making Up is another irresistible installment in Helena Hunting's Shacking Up series, and I couldn't get enough of Cosy and Griffin. She's a sassy, driven, travel-loving college student, who finds herself courted by the older, buttoned-up, successful mogul after their hilarious meet-cute at the sex toy shop where Cosy works. While they could be considered opposites by some, they're actually unequivocally perfect together, and I loved every minute of their sweet, sexy and laugh-out-loud romance. If you’re not reading this series, you’re missing out on one of the sexiest, funniest and swoon-iest series around.

I love Helena Hunting’s writing style and her characters are always a hoot. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as her other books but it wasn’t anything wrong with the book.

I just wasn’t in the mood. Baring that, I really liked it. The book focused on Cosy Griffin as a couple, and that poses a few questions.

Griffin is older than Cosy and it’s made blatantly obvious several times. He’s not so so much older but it’s enough to bother him. The relationship, from early on, suffers because of this. Griffin almost tries to overcompensate for the gap and Cosy tries to add too many hard limits. They both realise that, to make a relationship work, no matter the ages, they need to communicate better. But, of course, right as things are getting good, there comes a bomb. They both handle the aftermath really well and extremely mature. But, there is always something drawing them back to each other.

My mom always says that what belongs to the priest go to the church and that’s definitely the case here. Cosy and Griffin belong to each other, they each bring something to the relationship that the other needs.

Cosy, along with maturing in her relationship with Griffin, also does better in her relationship with her sister. I loved seeing that. It was definitely a major factor in rising the rating. The fact that the sisters rise above their situations, both individually and together and help one another.

I am fast becoming a fan of Helena Hunting’s books, mainly because her characters are usually just a tad off the stereotypes often found in the genre. I liked both Cosy and Griffin for a few reasons. First, ya gotta love a gal who works in a sex toy shop (a great way to open). Second, I liked that Griffin was not the usual uptight billionaire dude who was all about work – he was open and playful pretty much from the start. I appreciated that it wasn’t a total 180-degree character change for either. I enjoyed their story and recommend this book. Okay, romance lovers, can you keep a secret? Although I have happily promoted Helena Hunting and her books for a very long time, MAKING UP is actually the first book of hers that I have read. Yes, it's true... *ducks and runs* Why, I don't know, because now I am now kicking myself and wondering what in the actual heck I was thinking.

As this was my first time in Helena World (see above), I wondered whether the book would work for me. Let me offer a resounding 'YES!' This book can totally be read as a standalone, and, while characters from other books do make an appearance, there's plenty of back story offered here for it to make sense. And, you know, whet our appetites to get the heck caught up with the rest of the Shacking Up world.

MAKING UP is just the kind of book that I want to find on my book pile again and again and again. What a delightful read this book was! I fell in insta-love with both Cosy and Griffin, and absolutely inhaled their story. Awkward, sexy, funny, these two are a match made in heaven, and seeing them get from start to finish could not have been more fun. Any book that can leave me with a smile on my face and a love for characters that will have me reading the author's other books is a win for me. 4.5 stars and a must-read recommendation for MAKING UP. Get it. Read it. Love it.
