Man, I wasn't sure how I felt about Chris and Cosette. We've been seeing the push and pull between them for a while, but Fey and Fey Courts? I was wrong. LOVED this story. Completely ripped my heart out at one point. But good story. Ready for the next one.

I requested this e-arc being unaware that Lunar Court was actually a part of the Alpha Girl series; the number eight installment to be exact. I was lucky enough the book could be read as a standalone without making me feel lost or overwhelmed by the events that took place in its predecessors.

The story follows our two main characters, Christopher and Cosette. Christopher is a werewolf with a childhood full of violence that still haunts him. Cosette is the fey who saved his life many years ago. She had survived numerous assassination attempts as a child and knows how it is to live a dangerous life. As time passes, the two of them become friends trying to heal each other, having this deep understanding of who the other truly is. When the first seeds of love begin to spawn, they know they can’t be together. Cosette is the princess of Lunar Court and must return back to her world due to her mother’s wishes. The Lunar court can control the Moon and werewolves are tied to it. As a result, they are as good as slaves there, so Christopher being at her side in the fey world is out of the question. The story takes up from here and progresses.

Lunar Court has one of my favorite tropes: two lovers who can’t be together because of obstacles difficult to overcome. I will start with the best element of the book and proceed with what didn’t work for me.

The characters were really well fleshed out and their personalities were shining through the story. From this double POV we got to know the fierce warrior, Cosette, with her hard exterior but soft heart and the funny sweet Christopher with his troubled–but still–optimistic soul. The passages of Christopher contained some cursing that enhanced his casualness and friendly personality while Cosette’s were more emotional and full of grief. The flashbacks were really interesting, adding depth to their relationship as friends and later as a potential couple. Christopher’s past was horrible and it was nearly impossible not to care about him after reading all the things he had gone through by the hands of his pack. I really was rooting for him from the first mention of his abuse. He deserved to be happy not only because he had been violated but because, despite that, he was a good person helping others and trying to put a smile on their faces.

While the characters were the strongest point of this book, the plot and the pacing were not. Nothing really was happening until we hit the 80% point. Before that, we got repetitions and repetitions of internal thoughts and events that happened in the past. I got tired at some point reading about information I already got the first time around. Also, I didn’t feel my protagonists being in danger when they were in dangerous situations. The stakes were not high enough and from this kind of story, I expected them to be. The magic system wasn’t impressive, as well, and it reminded me a lot of other books with supernatural themes.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed this book and I got to know this memorable, full of chemistry couple. The easy-to-follow writing, the character development and the mention of some past events intrigue me to read the other ones too.

I can honestly say I was super hyped for this book as soon as I finished the previous one in the series. Then time went by, because the author was not yet ready to release this book. So when I finally got approved for this book I was as pumped as I should have been. Oh was I wrong, this book was so good. I missed not getting enough of my other characters but getting more of Van, Chris, and Cosette, and oh a lil Eli was awesome. I hit one portion of the book and I had to go back to work and was like NO what WAIT, I can't stop now! Finally got back to it and I was so happy. This is a great side book to this series. I also didn't know there was going to be another book and to get the preview at the end. WOOO HOOOO!

Wow ok. So I asked for this book and it turns out to be the 8th in the series. I hadn’t read the others. Ignoring that fact.
The book was actually really good. It kept my attention though it starts a little slow, and very confusing (8th book) the author conveys the characters personality traits very well. Even though I haven’t read the previous books in the series I didn’t feel overly lost. She shows bonds formed over time and not instantly which I think makes this very special. I want to read the rest of the series.

Another great installment! I was thrilled to see Chris and Colette get their own book. And I loved the end; it was perfect for them! With so many series I get bored of them by time I've read five or so, but this series has kept me reading. Can't wait for the next one.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to read the next installment of the Alpha Girl series! Aileen Erin had me hooked from the first book, and while I haven't had a chance to catch up (trust me, after reading this I need to catch up) and I am so glad that she has continued to write more about the werewolves I've come to know and love.

While this book focuses more on Chris and Cosette (rather than Tessa, the werewolf / bruja hybrid that I fell in love with from the first book), I still liked being in the same world as Tessa and the rest of the pack. This one would definitely make more sense if I had continued with the series, as it talks a lot about different fey courts involved - like the Lunar Court, the Court of Gales, all the others - and archons, which definitely sound like an equivalent to Archangels. This also takes place in the aftermath of a huge battle with demons, which definitely was not the biggest baddie in the first book. I think it was vampires? What a huge upgrade, right?

I have a special spot for this book because it comes out on my birthday (yay, me!), and it brings me back to this world that I've taken a long break from. I can't wait to go back to the rest of the books, and I plan on buying the paperbacks so I can have them on my bookshelf forever. I love the growth that I saw between Chris and Cosette, and I think I fell for them a little more after finally reading more about them. I still love Tessa, but Erin did an amazing job of switching protagonists for this book and making it worth wanting to support them.

I love Aileen Erin and the alpha girl series, so I was ecstatic this book, 8th in the series is just as good as all its predecessors. The love story between Chris and Cosette is so adorable. I loved getting to know Chris better and was also happy as I hadn’t found Cosette that likeable in previous books, but we really get to know her here and her motivations. Amazing plot, emotional at times and plenty of twists and turns. Another great read from Ms. Erin .

I've loved all of Aileen Erin's books but my all time favorite has always been the first Alpha Girl book, until now. I laughed, I cried and I couldn't put this book down. The love story between Cosette and Chris was awesome. Chris has been one of my fav characters throughout but I found Cosette a bit standoffish when her character was introduced I believe in the second book of the series. Boy was I wrong! You have to project strength when you're a Fey Princess. The epicness of this couple almost reaches the level of Tessa and Dastien. Now Van, Cosette's best friend and bodyguard, needs his HEA too. I don't want to give too much away but let's just say once you read it you'll want more asap!!!

I love the Alpha Girl series by Aileen Erin. This is the eight book and it is about Cosette and Chris. It takes place right after defeating the demons and creating a new council for the supernaturals. Eli, the archon, talked. Chris into going into one of the Fey’s court (Gales) to help break the lunar tie. Things did not go as planned. Cosette was busy trying to find Chris when she finally agreed with her mother, the queen of lunar court, to marry for power and to give up Chris for his own safety. Cosette also goes to Gales court to meet with the prince and was surprised to find Chris there. What happens next??? You must read this book. I highly suggest to read the whole series first. YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED! This can technically be read without reading the series first, but you will get more enjoyment if you do because you will have a better understanding of characters.

was a little scared to read this, if I’m being totally honest. A huge part of me felt that Aileen Erin was just hurriedly tying together loose ends. Chris and Cosette had never occurred to me as a possible couple until book 7. I’m so happy to say that they completely worked out!

Getting to know Chris better has been so awesome! I love Chris and he’s actually one of my top three favorite characters in the series after Tessa and Claudia. Knowing his background is so fun! I can’t believe how messed up his past was and how he fought through his past with a smile still intact. I love sarcastic, funny hotties like Christ, they’re probably my favorite personality type of love interests. He and Cosette compliment each other so well!

I also enjoyed learning more about Cosette. I don’t remember much from when she was first introduced to the series. I didn’t think her an important character. Learning more about her past and the crazy world she lived in was exciting. I couldn’t keep myself away from this book when I was supposed to be doing my homework!

I’ve gotta say, though, Cosette was such an emotional mess! Although, I can’t say I would’ve been any better, being in her shoes😂 In fact, I was also a weeping mess near in the last few chapters. Aileen Erin put me in a huge scare.

The secrets and plot twists had my mind going crazy at the end. I was blown away with everything that happened in the last few chapters. I just want more and more of Chris and Cosette! Thank you Aileen Erin for another fantastic book in my favorite series!
