Mouse has gone to sort out her grandmother’s house after her death, and it’s turned out to be a much bigger job than she ever expected. It looks like the woman never threw anything away. Most of it is just garbage, but amongst the refuse, Mouse finds her grandfather’s journal. It’s filled with the sort of stuff that makes Mouse believe the man was crazy as a loon. But the longer Mouse spends at the deserted house, the more she begins to believe her grandfather wasn’t crazy after all and that there are some things in the woods she would be better off staying away from…if she can. A slow, insidious creeping read that will give you the willies.
