Quick Summary: Emotionally explosive and sweet beyond measure

My Review: Betraying the Billionaire by Victoria Davies was a real tearjerker. It had underdog vibes written all over it. I was totally here for it. The relationship that the main characters had packed quite a punch.

My Final Say: I'm so glad I finally had a chance to read this romance. It was surprisingly satisfying.

Good if you are in the mood for some mindless fun romance. If you love the billionaire alpha hero type and the heroine who of course tries to resist him but falls in love, you'll probably enjoy this book.

Betraying the Billionaire by Victoria Davies is Book 1 of The Abbott Sisters series and a recommended read.

Ms. Davies delivers a fun and enjoyable read that entertains the whole identical twins who switch places troupe. The writing was solid, the characters endearing and the world was defined with a great execution of the storyline.

An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book, though for whatever reason I happened to read several books with a very similar premise right around this same time.

I enjoyed Holly, even if I would have liked to see her stand up to her father more than she did. I didn't love that she lies to Jkian through the entire book, especially because it became clear that he had real feelings for her and the deception was unnecessary.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book. Julian and Holly make a wonderful couple, and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between them. I look forward to future books by Davies.

I love mistaken/hidden identity tropes so this + cold hero gets his heart warmed was all my catnip in one place. I am VERY intrigued re the sister’s book NGL also.

Betraying the Billionaire was a fun read. I do enjoyed a good arranged marriage story, though I did struggle with seeing it written in a more contemporary setting. Overall a cute, quick read. I wasn’t completely sold on the ending. I give this book 3 stars!

I really enjoyed this story! No one lived up to the stereotypes I expected. The black moment was fantastically angsty and I loved it!

Julian/H isn't cold and single-minded marrying only for a business transaction and status. Within a few pages we see depth and he doesn't fight the possibility of a real marriage with Holly.

Holly/h has some real hangups and insecurities that tugged at my heart.

Lilian/h's sister wasn't flighty and selfish. In fact I'm really looking forward to her story and Dominic St. Clair - her father's greatest enemy.

The father... a little bit of a gleeful villainous stereotype. I could see him twirling a mustache, so that was a little much, but he made me sympathize with the sisters.

BETRAYING THE BILLIONAIRE is the first book in the “Abbott Sisters” series by Victoria Davies. Julian Worth is a billionaire looking for a well-connected bride. He thinks he’s arranging to wed Lillian Abbott - heir to the Abbott financial empire. Unbeknownst to him, he’s actually romancing Holly Abbott. Holly is masquerading as her sister while Lillian is MIA. The situation is a little convoluted but the genuine romance that develops between Julian and Holly is phenomenal.

Even though Julian is ostensibly the big bad billionaire, he is not the villain of this piece. Holly and Lillian’s father is orchestrating everything and putting everybody in uncomfortable situations. If anything, Julian is the only person in BETRAYING THE BILLIONAIRE attempting to be direct and transparent. He’s upfront about his reasons for wanting to marry Lillian Abbott and his business plans. Holly and Lillian are merely pawns for their father and find it difficult to extricate themselves from his plans. The surprising chemistry between Julian and Holly when they first meet is palpable, and the relationship that develops between them is extremely charming. Despite going by her sister’s name, Holly lets Julian get to know her and vice versa. The way this couple falls in love is very organic with an equal amount of sexy and sweet moments. The tension builds as the two get closer emotionally, but the deception starts to unravel. I love how Victoria Davies ties things up at the end while still whetting the appetite of readers for the next book.

BETRAYING THE BILLIONAIRE is an unforgettable romance that will have you rooting for this couple from start to finish. I’ve been a Victoria Davies fan since reading her paranormal romance SEDUCING THE DEMON HUNTRESS, but now I’m eager to read more of her contemporary romances. I can’t wait to read Lillian’s story in the next installment in this “Abbott Sisters” series!

It's really tough to make the arranged marriage trope work in contemporary romance and I'm not sure this one completely works. I liked the characters.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I admit I’m kind of on the fence about this one. The premise was interesting. A father pushes his daughter into an arranged marriage by blackmailing her. And there was an interesting twist: the daughter meant to marry disappears and her twin sister must take her place. Holly finds herself caught in her father’s machinations. The family business is failing and he tells her that if she doesn’t play the part of her sister and win over her intended fiancé it will mean people will lose their jobs. She agrees to the charade, believing that her errant sister is trying to find a way out of the mess, and that the man she is fooling is as unfeeling as her father. It turns out that while Julian, her intended, is a successful businessman, he couldn’t be more unlike her father. Holly tries to play the part of her sister, but soon finds herself falling for Julian and revealing her true self to him. But of course their relationship can’t continue without Holly revealing her deception, something she can’t do if she wants to save employees livelihoods. I couldn’t help but feel like the father was made to be an outright villain, and he felt a little cartoony for it. SLIGHT SPOILER And when Lillian returns and everyone honestly thinks Julian can’t tell that she isn’t Holly, I just had to roll my eyes. A man who has the intelligence to build a successful company from the ground up, but he isn’t able to distinguish between a woman he has spent weeks with and has been intimate with and a woman he has just met despite her physical likeness to her sister? Please. END SPOILER There was just too much belief to be suspended with this story for me to really enjoy it.
Note: I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Julian and Holly’s story was a moving, emotional and wonderful adventure in Betraying the Billionaire by Victoria Davies, book one in her Abbott series. My heart ached for Holly as I too was that shy, insecure young lady. Being the second born twin has affected and defined her entire life. When her sister goes MIA her uncaring father decides she will take her place (think twin switch) and marry Julian Worth as part of a business deal. What type of father does this sort of thing? Not just offer a daughter as part of negotiations but forces one to become the other. Abandoned as a baby, Julian grew up in the foster care system, not knowing or understanding true love or how to love. It was easier for him to deal with an arranged marriage than take time away from work, his first and only love, to woo someone. After meeting Holly, Julian finds himself falling for her and feeling like the luckiest man in the world; as does Holly. When Holly’s twin finally returns and chooses to take her rightful place, Julian suspects something is going on. Julian is no fool; he knows the woman with him is not Holly. Also, he begins to question their father’s business dealings and wondering what he is hiding. It takes a couple of clever, angry sisters and an aggressive businessman to uncover the shady dealings and dissolve the business de, take down an unethical CEO, and save the girls’ legacy. The stars align as Julian pulls off that magical grand gesture to win Holly’s love.

Ms. Davies wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Julian and Holly a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Betraying the Billionaire to other readers.

I loved everything about this book. From the way they met for their "arranged" marriage, Holly keeping Julian surprised by what she would say, to their dating, making out, and to their lovemaking to the way they found their happy ever after. Julian softened his heart as he got to know Holly more. Holly fell for Julian because of his true character as well as he being the one to finally see her. I felt for both of them when the truth came to light. But I truly loved Holly showing her newfound strength when meeting with Julian to make amends. The epilogue I believe sets up Lillian's story which I believe will be a bigger adventure than Julian and Holly. I cannot wait!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Holly's father is domineering and has plans for her and her twin sister. When their father pushes Lillian too far she bales leaving Holly to step in to portray her. Will she be able to pull off the deception of marrying Julian in place of Lillian and as she gets to know the man, her heart is becoming a driving force. Will she be able to pull of betrayal without losing her heart? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I enjoyed this not-so-typical arranged marriage/switch-places romance.

As a hero, Julian wasn't the usual billionaire - a player and overly arrogant. He was sweet & considerate. I liked Holly. A down-to-earth heroine, she was relateable. While I had issues with how long the deception carried on, I really enjoyed the book, and really look forward to Lillian's story.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book, which I received via NetGalley & Entangled Publishing.
