This title was definitely more dark, gritty, and brutal than I expected -- but the story was SO rich, and the illustrations so captivating, I could not put it down. Absolutely mesmerizing!

Frogcatchers is surreal and surprisingly brutal, with Lemire's sketchy but engaging style. I've seen some criticism of the "hurriedly sketched" art, but I actually think that suits the content really well. I loved how it managed to convey so much without words, relying heavily on the art style and the medium. The story is fairly to-the-point, which kept it from knocking it out of the park for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Another wonderful and emotional story by Jeff Lemire. His ability to move a story along with just illustrations always amazes me

This was so beautiful and had me mesmerized from the first frame until the last.

Jeff continues to be one of my favourite writers and illustrators.
