As the title implies this is a book about family secrets - in this case it goes more broadly than just the sister. Following the shocking death of her sister Molly’s life and that of her family implodes. Initially I didn’t think I was going to get into the book as the start was rather laborious and a over wordy. However, the pace picked up and overall I enjoyed it but with some reservations. I did like the main character of Molly, her friend Lenny, her aunt Dusty and that of Rocco. The setting of the Malvern area was lovely and the author definitely piqued my interest to visit the area! There was an awful lot going on in the storyline from police corruption to murder to blackmail and cover ups some of which was intriguing but at times it felt rather convoluted and a bit far fetched. Some of the ending came out of left field and I thought some of the dialogue at this point was melodramatic. However, overall the story kept my interest once it got going and I enjoyed it.

Excellent read! Molly investigates the death of her sister - at the possible expense of her family. Suspenseful. Fast paced. Twists. Great writing - highly recommend.

This was definitely a thrilling and dramatic story. Alot of twists and turns on almost every page. Kept me guessing until the last page. It shows you never truly know family and the secrets they keep. Could of been a little shorter of a book, but was a good read and I would definitely recommend. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book

A thoroughly engrossing book that held my attention from beginning to end. Molly Napier is on a quest to find out the truth behind her sister Scarlett’s death. It is a brilliantly written novel that delves into how little we truly know each other’s pasts and secrets, even those closest to us. It’s a novel that shows how the choices we make affect everyone around us, and how secrets can destroy a family, even when well-intentioned.

The story moves at a fast pace and there are plenty of shocking revelations throughout the book. I look forward to reading more books from E.V. Seymour.
