I tried so hard to get into this book I really did. It had so much potential with the friends to lovers trope but it felt lackluster in the delivery. It wasn't terrible but it's just not for me.

Nicole Sobon is a new author to me and on reading the synopsis I thought Colliide had a lot of potential. Friends to lovers and the guy trying to keep a promise to a dead friend seemed like a great story.

But unfortunately I found the book to be very lackluster. Rather then being told a story I found it more to be just hearing people's thoughts on things that happened in the past and very repetitive.

I liked Gemma but I couldn't get into ben. I thought she was good but he annoyed me maybe because it took him forever to make his move lol. Book one in series and ends in a cliffhanger. I would read another by this author but I think this one just didn't connect for me

Warning: this ends on a cliffhanger. Those are so frustrating to me. This is a short read about friends who secretly love each other while they have no clue about the others feelings. Is a cute story, but like I said, a cliffhanger.

Short read, but it was great. Friends to lovers romance. Can’t wait to continue reading the second one.

***This book was generously given to me by NetGalley***

First off, this ends in a cliff hanger. It was a cute little love story about best friends both being in love with each other. However, it seemed that neither one knew that.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

Collide is a short but sweet book. YOu could really feel Ben & Gemma's love. BUT it was really rushed and felt like it was missing something. Definitely was a cliffhanger.

This book is the perfect example of short but sweet. I whizzed through this book which is exactly what I needed to get myself out of my reading slump.
I loved Ben and Gemma, They feel like they are really genuine characters. We are almost instantly brought into their love for each other but it isn't actually insta love, these guys have loved each other for a long time. It felt like we were able to see a real relationship develop and isnt that what we all want? to fall in love with our best friend.

It doesn't hurt that Ben on the cover looks like Theo James.

I love that towards the end of the book we are brought into some drama rather than chucking everything at us all at once.

Hopefully I can get my hands on book 2! I would really love to see how Ben and Gemmas friendship/ Relationship plays out

Thanks For Reading

I can't wait to get my hands on book 2! While it is a quick read, you better plan on spending your money for the follow-ups. Friends turned lovers in a sweet, adorable, steamy, and sexy way.

Gemma and Ben's story warms my heart. I liked the book a lot. The interaction between Ben and Gemma is drawn out and with each of them loving the other but not wanting to admit it to the other we are carried along on their ride to find their HEA .This is a shorter style book that kept me interested and happy.

It's hard to write a review for this 'book' because I feel like I didn't even read an entire story. It was like the author wrote a novel and then, at the last minute, decided they wanted it to be a series and so randomly chopped the story up. Collide is the first but it was barely even a prologue in the grand scheme of things and that was frustrating! There was no conflict, no resolution and absolutely no character development. I'm very disappointed.

I did not enjoy this book at all. The characters were boring and the book was very short so you didn't get to know much about the characters. Also, barely anything happened in the story and the romance super boring.

Very short and not very flowing. The story is bitty, misses out key information and is a bit cringe really. Also, how many times does Ben need to say he wants to do it the right way. Jeeeeesus!

Okay, I hate doing this kind of review let that be said. I really did try and save this author this star review. I went looking on Net Galley to see if maybe just maybe I missed where it said C-L-I-F-F-H-A-N-G-E-R! Banging my head on the wall.
You know how much I hate these but even worse is when an author takes a whole novel and chops it up for sales. SAY, What?!
Needless to say, I am not a happy camper at all. Just as you are trying to, and I mean trying to like Ben the male lead character who is a douche in the book. It puts you in the cliffhanger.
Nowhere, are you told that this is an extremely short essay. Only that it is a book 1. Nowhere does it tell you that it will leave you in a cliffhanger. Not to mention with a whole lot of questions about this guy Ben.
She plays him off as a good guy but with a whole lot of mean, not just bad I'm telling you, mean qualities. Oh, I don’t know tell your best friend who you’ve had a crush on forever you’ll take her to prom. For once she’s out of her shell willing to overcome her anxiety for this event to primp and do all the things a girl does to go with her crush but more than that her Best Friend.
But right before he gets a girlfriend and she wants to go so he leaves Gemma hanging to go alone. Then, all these years later tells her. Don’t get me wrong Gemma should have reset his family jewels back then. But especially at this moment in time when he’s professing, he’s been crushing on her for years. BS! Gemma, remember he’s the same douche bag that was just checking out the redhead’s tonsils to see if he could get to her vagina a faster way? You remember the one sitting on his lap at the club not eight hours ago.
But no, when he says he too is in love with you after you said it the night before. But he won’t kiss you because he wants to do it right WITH YOU. Really?! Why does it feel like Playboy is playing her to get her to bed and then move on? Being the player, he is who likes to control. The whole Dom and Sub.
Nope, not a fan of long stories chopped up or cliffhangers especially when you’re not upfront with the reader.

This was a super quick and rushed book. I found it really tough to follow and everything just felt so rushed. There was no character development, no chemistry nothing. I felt a bit cheated.

First things first, what the hell did I read? This very quick friends turn lovers ‘romance’ series was an absolute joke. Where was the plot? Where was the chemistry? Where was everything? There was nothing to rave about this quick and easy read because that was the only good thing about this. Everything seemed so rushed and a bit boring for my taste. As much as I loved the ARC, this series just wasn’t meant for me.

This was an extremely short “episode” novel about friends to lovers. It ends on a cliffhanger. The writing was ok but I don’t even care to read the next part. Thank you to netgalley for the Arc.

A quick read, Collide is a short friends to lovers story. I liked the premise and the characters and will look to read more of this series.

Collide is episode one of a mini series that leaves you with a cliff hanger.

Gemma has lost a lot this past year and watching her best friend flirt and date other women is wearing her thin. Ben has been in her life forever but she’s been in love with him for about as long, he just doesn’t know it.

Ben has loved Gemma for about as long, he just doesn’t know she feels the same way. When a drunken night turns into her confessing her feelings thing change.

My problem as to why I won’t get the rest? She completely over looks the fact he’s making out with and flirting with al these other chicks right before her confession. The next day he’s a saint and none of that matters? You can look past a lot but that’s pushing it for me

Well, sad to say but there wasn't anything new here. The same old New Adult formula, there's one of the main characters, in this case the girl, who's got a past that prevents her from enjoying life in the present. There's also the Lack of Communication element that seems to be the key ingredient in most romances. I wish I could've seen something new for a change.

Another thing that bothered me was this "I wanna do this the right way" attitude that Ben decided to have towards Gemma. I understood that he wanted to treat her well and be a gentleman, which is awesome and let me add, the correct thing to do, however, they've been in each other's radar for years and they've been hiding those agonizing feelings for so long... Ben, seriously, now was not the time to be all hands off if she was willing to go all the way, which she definitely was.

To sum it up, the book was too short so it ended it up being a bit boring for my taste, but I'm giving a shout out to Nicole Sobon's writing because I could see the potential and know she can explore more
