Sweet coming home and starting over story. Spun Out (Blacktop Cowboy #10) by Lorelei James has so much laughter and so much heart. From the father/daughter relationship to the relationships of everyone on the ranch. It will make you feel right at home.

Bailey is coming home to regroup and figure out her next step. Helping out her sister in her shop she sees a little thief running through the store. Bailey decides to pursue this little thief and let the antics and laughter begin. What she walks into is hilarious! Since Bailey happens to be in town and has military training who else would be the best as running a summer boot camp for the kids on the ranch. And Bailey brings it and I love her interactions with each child.

A tall drink of water in wranglers, work boots and cowboy hat, Streeter Hale ranch hand is a single father and his one and only focus is his daughter, Olivia, the little thief. Oh sweet sweet Olivia. I feel in love with her. Between her and the other children of the ranch’s antics, I felt right at home with my kids and nephews. Streeter has his hands FULL with Olivia. So many times I was laughing out loud at her antics. But there are so many sweet scenes between Streeter and Olivia.

This is a book of real-life issues. Real-life, real hard issues and what makes this book is reading about the family and friends working through these issues is what makes this book full of heart, full of loyalty and full of love. No Lorelei James did not skirt around the issue. She dived right in. And each situation was written beautifully. The relationship between Streeter and Bailey was not the main focus of this story to me. The focus to me was Olivia and her building the relationship with Bailey. Which was beautiful. The relationship between sisters. The relationship between friends and coworkers.

I really liked this new story, bringing a very difficult issue up front, mental health with its different facets. You will laugh, you might cry, you will wonder what if… Streeter, Tobin’s brother and a widower, is going through life one day at a time, with his young daughter Olivia, who has her own issues. Then, comes Bailey, Harper’s and Trinity’s sister, who is a sergeant in the US Army and who also have medical and personal issues. They meet, develop a sexual relationship and start to discover each other’s life. You follow them through their ups and downs. As always, a great story well written, very believable. You will also get updates on past characters such as the Mud Lilies, which is always fun. A great read !

This is only my second book by this author, and I can for sure say I am a fan. Her writing is interesting, rather it be in first person or third. She has a way of telling stories, and keeping your attention. Not every story is the same, each character is different than the other. Each plot is not just mediocre. She tackles some tough subjects, and does it flawlessly. Spun Out is one of those books that has amazing characters that show growth along the way. They are witty with great dialogue. The plot is not your average. It is in depth with amazing information that could truly help someone one day. Very insightful, which in turn made it feel realistic and not out of reach.

Bailey is a truly one of a kind heroine. She is loud and commanding with a great sense of ability. A force to be awfeckned with.

Streeter is the cowboy of all cowboys. He is kind of a pushover but has the best of intentions, supportive to the core and the best dang dad out there.

Full review to be published online in mid November.

SPUN OUT is the tenth book in the immensely satisfying and popular ‘Blacktop Cowboys’ series by Lorelei James. This is by far my favorite series by James’, especially as I am somewhat less than enthralled by her New Adult series. I loved spunky Bailey and the taciturn Hale. It’s great to see that the author kept them both true to character from previous books. As always, it’s great to check in with previous main and side characters and get glimpses into their lives after their HEA. This is a well rounded series that’s still going strong.

Bailey can be just a tad bit awkward, “oh. Yeah. Right. Six-pack. Seven o’clock, whatever.” Warm fingers curled around the bottom of her jaw and tilted her chin up." Streeter needs to learn to let his girl do her, "Bailey managed to tear her gaze away from the one-eyed monster and look into his eyes. “Here’s a hint, cowboy. You know you’ve got a big ***k. Let me admire it.” Streeter really does love putting a smile on his woman, “anything that makes you happy, darlin’.” Streeter glanced over his shoulder after he stretched out on the bed. “You getting nekkid too?” I liked this book, I loved Streeter.

This is Bailey and Streeter book, Streeter only has time for two things in his life his daughter and his job. He doesn’t date and he doesn’t get attached he barely checks out women these days, not anymore though Streeters shocked and stunned by his daughter Olivia’s improve behavior after just a few days with his new nanny/teacher! But he is downright shocked by the immediate attraction to the very same woman! Bailey is ex army she’s great at shooting , repelling off cliffs and dodging grenades! But nothing in her life or death training prepared her for caring for this tiny terror that is five-year-old Olivia! Or how to control her Hot blooded attraction to Olivia‘s father! He’s a hot, rugged, grumpy green eyed cattle rancher! This book was really good I definitely enjoyed reading this one I’m not too into the cowboy books like everybody else seems to be but I really enjoyed reading this one! I definitely recommend reading this one don’t miss out it’s well worth the read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
