If You Give a Smuggler a Secret was very well written. Just enough to keep me wanting to read until the very end in one sitting. Highly recommend!!

Landon and Keelan were lovable characters in this book. Well developed plot. The best part that I have not seen before in any other books was that you could pick sexy and non-sexy version and since I am way over 21 you know what I picked :)

I received this arc some weeks ago but I learned then this book was not a standalone.
But now I have finished it, I can say even if it does not end with a HEA, the HFN is satisfying, and can stay there.
At first I rooted for Keelan predicament, it was like she was living in a rat nest with everyone around her in want of a piece of her. Her hoyden side and impulsiveness attracted me, then the more the story unfolded, the more I came to dislike her, sure she is young, and faced hurtful issues sometimes ago but it does not excuse her scheming personality, ready to use others to reach her goal even if it may hurt them.
Worse, she reproaches to other her own misdeeds, when she uses people’s feelings to achieve her purpose and hurt them on the way.
So haughty, conceited and judgmental, she even lied to herself and others, blinded by her pride to see what was right in front of her.
I do hope she will evolve for the best in the next books.
Landon is a nice man, he has his fault and flaws, and was betrayed previously. Whatever he plays less games than Keelan, older and wiser, he is also conflicted with his growing feeling for the scheming Keelan. If not for him and his rakishness, I might have at time gave up my read.
It was an okay read for me, 3,5 stars.
I was granted an advance copy through Netgalley but I also own a own copy. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

The story line and characters were well developed. It was a good book to read. Keelan was a strong, independent lady who sometimes made bad decisions, but didn't want to be with someone who would leave her behind. Landon was a sea captain and wasn't going to give up his life at sea. In the end they get their HEA.

Keelan can't decide if she wants to be a tom boy or a young lady with manners. Now that she has met Landon she is worried he cannot keep her secrets. He can but for a price. Keelan's father is not well and wants her married so she is settled before his death. Her choices are not good. Landon is attracted to her but she does not want a man of the sea. Her father was one and her mother was always saying 'hello' or 'good-bye' to him Keelan wants a husband who will be there with her all of the time. Can she get her heart's desire?

If You Give a Smuggler a Secret is a good book with well developed characters. A good storyline and well written.

When Captain Landon Hart first sees Keelan Grey, he mistakes her for a young boy but as soon as she removes her cap, he is intrigued by the young woman who wields a knife with finesse. Keelan’s father is desperate for her to marry, fearing that she is in danger as an assassin has killed members of her family. Whilst trying to avoid an arranged marriage, she is also captivated by Landon but fears that losing her heart to him, will only mean loneliness.
The attraction between the two main characters was well delivered and the banter between them, quite enjoyable. Their attraction to each other is obvious and its development throughout the book made for an enjoyable read. The threat of the assassin added pace, to the romantic tale. Well worth reading!

This historical novel was decent. The heroine is spirited and independent but I felt a bit too reckless and quick to anger. Landon is a captain who comes to love her for her wit, bravery and beauty. He is very quick to flirt and had the heroine convinced he wanted nothing but a night in bed. Eventually he comes around and she surrenders. Worth the read but nothing special.
