Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Asper-Smith, and Sasquatch Books for the opportunity to read "You Are Home with Me" in exchange for an honest review.

This book is absolutely adorable!

Gorgeous illustrations depict what various animals look like and what kind of habitats they live in across the world, the places these animals call home. Each animal also has an interesting fact about it, and I learned some fun bits about these animals I thought I knew well!

The perfect book for a young reader itching to learn about nature, and highly recommend for preschool teachers to read to their children!

Honestly, one of the first things to do with a book like this is to just take a moment to look at the absolutely beautiful arctic foxes on the cover of You Are Home With Me by Sarah Asper-Smith. If nothing else, it does an amazing job of pulling you into picking it up. There was no resisting requesting this book when I saw it and I had a rather fun time reading it. A cute children's book, You Are Home With Me follows a various number of adorably drawn animals who show off their homes to their children, even featuring a small blurb about the habitats on the side of each set of creatures.

This book has a lot of things going for it from the beautiful artwork that really captures the feel of the story to the brilliant way in which the author uses the emotional message to teach the children reading it. This story also ended exceptionally well, with the voice of the story speaking to their own children. Of all the things I loved about this novel, with the foxes pretty high on that list, the thing I loved the absolute most was the way it was ended.

The only thing I didn't like came from the fact that the story's language didn't really flow all that well. It almost seemed as though it should have rhymed all the way through, but the truth of the matter is that it never really did. And while I wouldn't say that was a big facet to the book as a whole, it was mildly annoying. Still, overall this was a wonderful and educational children's book that I could definitely see myself recommending.

You Are Home with Me is a beautifully illustrated read-to-me children's book aimed at the youngest children up through 7(ish) years. Due out 12th Nov 2019 from Sasquatch on their Little Bigfoot imprint, it's 32 pages and will be available in hardback format. Written by Sarah Asper-Smith and illustrated by her husband Mitchell Watley, it's a sweet exploration of 15 different wild animal families and where they live with their babies.

The illustrations show the animal families with a short easy to read description of their homes and how they live. Each of the pictures also includes a short sentence with an interesting fact about their behavior or anatomy. The pictures support the message beautifully.

This would make a superlative library/reading circle, classroom, or bedtime read. It should be noted that the text is specifically written more toward a caretaker talking to their children, but it would still make a lovely group read for classroom or library use.

Beautifully executed work. I received an early eARC of this book for review purposes and fully intend to buy several gift copies of my own for friends' children.

Five stars.

You Are Home With Me written by Sarah Asper-Smith will always have a home on my bookshelf. Written from the viewpoint of the parent/caregiver, it is meant to be read to the child. Every child deserves to feel secure and cared for, regardless of the world around them and what might be happening in their lives. This book delivers that message and more. I’d recommend this to any parent, but especially to the parents of children experiencing change, loss, or insecurity.

The illustrations by Mitchell Watley are absolutely beautiful, capturing the bond between each animal and it’s parent. Small bits of information about the animal depicted are found on each page. They’re not critical pieces of the story, but they are welcome and educational.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sasquatch Books (Little Bigfoot) for the opportunity to read this book. My review is honest and unbiased. #NetGalley #YouAreHomeWithMe

What a lovely book! The concept is adorable and the illustrations are SO sweet.
While it's not necessarily a story with a plot, it's still such a nice book for children who want to learn more about wildlife and animal habitats.. It provides basic information for younger kids and then goes a little bit deeper for the older kids to get more information about the animals.

When I have kids, this will definitely be a book I'll want to have in my personal library for generations. :)

I had loaned the author's previous book, "I Would Tuck You In" from the library last year and loved it so when I saw a new book by the author I jumped at the chance to request. I couldn't have loved this any more as it's perfect for my daughter who loves animals (particularly pictures of animal parents and their babies). Each page has a different animal and where they live with a little description of how they build their home or some other factoid to educate the reader about that particular animal. The illustrations are STUNNING and I really liked how they were animals that are different to where I live.

This is a perfect book to read with a child to help further their love of animals and nature. It has a very touching sentiment and is something I will be sure to buy for our library.
