I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. Meg’s family grabbed my attention and would not let go. Then there was Michael-what-a-waste and the idea of a modern female blacksmith. How could you not want to read this series?

In this book, Meg and family (and extended family, of course), set cruise on an educational cruise ship. Grandfather is the guest speaker and is given a special discount price, which induces just about every member of the clan to sashay up the gangplank and set sail.

Or rather, that is what the plan was to be. When things start going awry, the idea of a cruise loses a lot of its luster.

Luckily, between them, the family have the skills needed to get to the bottom of the ship’s problems.

As always, I found myself laughing out loud over and over again. Each time I read a new book in this series, I consider it the best so far. That’s saying a lot as we are now up to book 25.

I was provided a digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is just as fun and entertaining as all of Donna Andrews' Meg Langslow stories are. Wonderfully written with great characters you feel right at home with. So if you want some laughs or just to put a smile on your face, pick up this book and enjoy!

"Terns of Endearment" is clever, a little convoluted, but nicely done. It gets meta with the writing group and publishing gossip, but it's also interesting. The story's not side-splitting as the blurb says but it is humorous, and it kept me reading; I finished it in a day. Meg and her extended family take a trip aboard a cruise ship from a new cruise line, one that is poorly run and not entirely ethical. You may not want to take a cruise after reading this story, lol. Murphy's Law doesn't just strike but moves in and gets comfy.

Andrews weaves several plots and ties them in with some unlikely coincidences but she makes them work. I enjoyed the story and was caught up in it. Looking back, a lot of it is improbable, and certainly a travel disaster! but as I was reading, I mostly accepted and went along with events. The story is told from Meg's perspective and we don't see a lot of her husband Michael or their sons, though they are around and helping. Her temperamental grandfather is on hand, as is her enthusiastic father, regimental mother, and inspirational cousin Rose Noire. Together, they take over the ship, solve a murder and some related mysteries, investigate a suicide, sort out a plagiarism issue, and eventually make it safely to land. Meg is her usual level-headed self while her errant brother Rob is finally growing up and becoming a more settled adult. I enjoyed the blast from the past regarding Michael's former acting career. While you could read this easily without having read any of the earlier books, as a long time reader, I enjoyed seeing both the changes and the things that haven't changed.

"Terns of Endearment" was fun, engaging, full of quirks and quirky people, and little twists. Twenty five books in and the series is still enjoyable.

I am a huge Donna Andrews fan and have been for some time. While this book was different (took place,on a cruise ship instead of Caerphilly) it still had the same great characters with some new ones added into the mix. The plot was well written and left me reading well into the night, unable to put it down. I can't wait for the next installment!

Terns of Endearment by Donna Andrews is the 25th book in the Meg Langslow series, and another great addition. Grandfather has agreed to give a series of lectures for a cruise line, and the family has come along for the ride. If anything can go wrong, it's going wrong on this cruise. Several laugh out loud moments. When a lady is reported overboard, the mystery begins. I love this series with all the quirky people and large family. The plot of the stories are always well written and developed and often make me laugh out loud. This book has more twists and turns, that kept me reading page after page. I strongly recommend this book and the whole series for anyone who likes well written cozy mysteries that are unique and delightful.

I reviewed an arc from Netgalley and St. Martin's Press. Thank you.

Donna Andrew's Terns of Endearment is all about a cruise gone wrong. A lot of Meg Langslow's family and friends are onboard a lesser-known cruise line when things start going horribly wrong.
Terns of Endearment was an original plot and I enjoyed that very much. I also liked the cruising part up to a point.
There were a lot of characters and I found that hard to keep up with at times. I also felt like the story drug in places.
This was not the best Donna Andrews' Meg Langslow mystery but was still entertaining and enjoyable.

Cozy Mystery on a Bermuda Cruise
Everything that could go wrong on a cruise does in this fun cozy mystery. The plot is nicely twisted. Our heroine has the most interesting family, they are a group of 16 on this cruise. This is book 25 of the series and it stands alone nicely. I enjoyed this book so much that I will be looking to read more of this author's work. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

Readers will set sea with Meg and her eccentric family in the newest adventure featuring the Langslow family. Meg, her husband and their twin boys, along with Meg's grandfather, father and mother, board a cruise ship heading towards Bermuda. Also aboard the ship is a group of writers that Meg meets on her first night aboard the cruise. As the ship nears the Bermuda Triangle, things start to go awry, ending in a stranded cruise ship without electricity and WiFi. In typical Landslow fashion, the family jumps into action, assisting where needed to provide help and comfort to the stranded vacationers. When the body of one of the members of the writing group is discovered, Meg feels compelled to assist in the investigation. Was it a suicide or was it something more sinister. With the assistance of her quirky family members, Meg is sure to get to the bottom of the mysterious death.
This high seas mystery novel was a great addition to a long standing and beloved mystery series. The Langslow family never fails to keep me entertained with their zany antics and comical diatribes. Although the plot is certainly out of the ordinary for every day life, the author keeps it within the realm of believability which I greatly appreciate. The mystery was engaging, inventive and not easily solved. Overall this was an enjoyable summer mystery featuring the endearing, if eccentric, Langslow family.

A quirky and comedic adventure featuring the unflappable Meg Lanslow. On an educational cruise featuring her famous naturalist grandfather, her mystery addicted dad, a mother who can be an understudy for the royal family plus her patient husband and twin sons, Meg encounters several puzzling and dangerous events.
On her first day she meets a group of authors and befriends them. They are taking this trip to help then deal with the suicide of a fellow author and dear friend Nancy. She killed herself when she was accused of plagiarism by a self serving diva/writer named Desiree. Nancy had suffered from depression and these accusations drove her over the brink. The tight knit authors blame Desiree for their dear friend's death. Of course Desiree is aboard the cruise ship to everyone's dismay.
Meg's family is charming and eccentric. I love the dynamics with Meg being the glue that holds all the relatives together. The ship breaks down and the crew disappears with dangerous conditions arising from heat, lack of water and food spoilage.
More issues pile up. Desiree may have also committed suicide and another body is discovered. Meg and her family race around the clock to find help for the poor vacationers who are now alone and isolated.
Ms. Andrews is a wonderful writer and you can picture yourself on board this ship with Meg's unique family trying to make the best of a dire situation. This book can be read as a stand alone but having some background on the numerous characters from past novels would be helpful. I absolutely recommend this charming and fast paced mystery and urge you to join this family vacation. Reviews to be posted on Amazon, Goodreads, Kobo and Barnes and Noble.

I'm enjoying this series enough that I've gone back and started at the beginning. I really enjoy Meg's and Michael's relationship and how they work together to raise their kids and solve the mystery. The mysteries always keep me guessing.

This is the 25th book in this series and it just never gets old. I love Meg and all the familiar faces. This time they are onboard a cruise ship and get involved solving the mysterious death of a young passenger. Lots of red herrings, interesting characters and the usual witty dialogue. Looking forward to #26 Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

Meg Langslow's grandfather Dr. Blake has been booked to give lectures on a Pastime cruise to Bermuda. Most of his family members have joined him for a fun vacation. But the trip turns into a nightmare when the ship is dead in the water without power and in need of repairs. Things get even worse when a woman has jumped overboard, leaving behind her shoes, shawl, and a note. Why would celebrated romance author Desiree St. Christophe commit suicide? The diva was disliked by a writers' group who came on the cruise for their annual retreat so no one was unhappy about Desiree's death. To avoid publicity, the ship's captain decides not to investigate or publicize Desiree's death but Meg's medical examiner father thinks they need to rule out foul play so he and Meg do their own sleuthing. As conditions about the ship continue to deteriorate with most of the crew stricken with food poisoning, it's up to Meg and her family to corral the passengers to get the ship running.

Normally I enjoy plenty of hi-jinks and humor in Donna Andrews' mysteries but I found very little of that in this book.

I received an eARC via Netgalley and St. Martin's Press/Minotaur with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and provided this review.

Another wonderful hit in a great series. I have been addicted to these books for a long time, and this one is no exception. Meg and the gang are on a cruise to Bermuda, when they suddenly end up stranded near the Bermuda Triangle. A couple people missing, one a supposed suicide, another body found in a closet, what is a girl to do? Highly recommend this book, series and author. Hard to put this one down!

I have always liked Donna Andrew's mysteries. Her titles alone always amuse me. This time the mystery takes place on a cruise ship with assorted sailing passengers and her nutty family. A passenger needs to research about medical examiners and CSI information, but alas, the wifi on the ship is out. No problem, Meg's father and cousin are on board the ship. Need some way to charge your phone or computer since the electricity out? No problem, Meg's brother and his girlfriend have a solar charger. With an apparent suicide and also a murder and a ship that is dead in the water, Meg and her family solves the case and saves the day, getting the ship up and running with the help of the Coast Guard.
This is another great mystery by Donna Andrews. She never fails keep the reader amused and intrigued. I have always liked all of her mysteries, and this one ranks right up there with as another great one. I highly recommend this mystery. It will keep you guessing to the end,

Terns of Endearment by Donna Andrews 5 STARS

This is book #25 in the Meg Landslow series and Ms. Andrews has delivered a fabulous book. This time its Meg and family on the high seas taking a cruise to Bermuda. Her grandfather, Dr. J. Montgomery Blake is sailing on the ship to deliver a series of lectures and film some footage at their destination - Bermuda. Like the author in her preface, I have never been on a cruise, but I had heard plenty of news about cruise ship problems. Ms. Andrews tells a tale of a vacation that starts out fine, but soon turns into suspicious death and more.

I love visiting with Meg and her family with every book and this one pokes some fun at writing, writers and their communities. The "guests" characters of Kate, Tish, Janet and Angie made a fabulous book even more enjoyable. These four individuals - four authors from different genres on a informal retreat provide a mystery and comic relief at the same time.

Sometimes with long running series, there are some that might be just OK. But Ms. Andrews breaks that rule, I would rate everyone of her books 4 stars or better.

I was honored and fortunate to receive an early look at this book.

Thank you Netgalley and St, Martins Press for this ARC.

I've read all the books in this series and I think they just keep getting better. Wow, what a difference being in a different setting makes for the characters. I learned something new about Meg and the family. I would like to know more about the boys as they're not mentioned much as main characters. I really enjoyed this book, I have to re-read it since I'm not sure I picked up on all the nuances. It's detailed (in places it's gross due to your imagination) I feel for the crew of cruise ships if they really have it that bad onboard the ships. I did suspect that Desiree was really still alive, and that the 1st officer had something to do with it, but that was minor to enjoying the book. #Terns of Endearment #NetGalley

verbal-humor, situational-humor, family-dynamics, murder-investigation, cruise-ship, amateur-sleuth

***** A noted wildlife lecturer with entourage, an MD/ME, a holistic practitioner, a tech geek, a CSI tech, Meg Langslow with husband and twins, three popular fiction writers and one marketable but despicable one, a tippling captain, a full complement of passengers, and an overworked crew. What could possibly go wrong between Baltimore and Bermuda? Well, a suspected suicide, the cruise ship becoming disabled with no electricity or WiFi or water service while in the Bermuda Triangle, and that's just for starters. Great sleuthing with twists and red herrings abound in a real groan of a good book!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from St Martin's Press/Minotaur Books via NetGalley. Thank You!
