Very well done! Jo's daughter is missing, but why? This was a dark and twisted thriler with a different kind of twist which made it all the more surprising. I am definitely interested in reading more books by this author.

This psychological thriller was an excellent read. It’s a real page turner you won’t be able to put down. Full of twists and turns that you would never see coming, when you think that you have worked something out.. your completely wrong. The characters were interesting and the story itself was amazing so much that it will keep you hooked from the start. I have read another one of this authors books and was gripped like this one, I will continue to keep my eye out for more in the future.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this

This book is so good. When you think you have it figured out, something else is thrown in to make you think someone else is guilty. Then another big twist at the end that I did not see coming. I was up late, sayin just one more chapter. Then another one. Definitely recommend this book.

One Monday morning Jo drops her two children at school, but when she returns later to collect them, Grace is nowhere to be found. Jo, her husband Chris and two children have relocated to Cyprus, the Greek part of the island. As a teenager Jo had fallen in love with the father of the child she was nannying for, fallen pregnant and returned home. Although Chris is not Grace’s biological father he is the one who was always around as her real father abandoned both Jo and Grace. The hunt for Grace starts as soon as the police are called, the authorities are sure she is still on the island as her passport is in her room untouched. Jo starts to chase leads to find her missing daughter and is convinced her older boyfriend , Tom, is at the heart of the disappearance.
This latest psychological thriller by Karen Cole is excellent, it’s written in two time frames, Jo now and Jo when she first came to Cyprus as a nanny. A thrilling read that had me perched on the edge of my seat, too engrossed to notice that I was holding my breath in many places. If you like a good psychological mystery this is absolutely your book.

This book started off with a bang straight away and didn't stop till the end. Dysfunctional family always a great storyline. The characters had me emotionally connected so I didn't want to put this book down. This book is a mothers worst nightmare.

Ok, wow

That was something else. I’ll admit it, I got bored at the halfway point and searched reviews to see what I was missing. I didn’t find what I was looking for
So I kept going. Glad I did.

This is a crazy story, not going to lie. There are so many twists and surprises once the story gets going (about the 70% mark) that it gets crazy. It’s a slow burn and you really have to be patient. Your mind will jump to so many conclusions (and they won’t be right). Maybe you will you seen what’s coming. I didn’t, so that was fun.

You know there are big reveals, we are told that from the start, but they weren’t what I was expecting at all.

Overall if you are expecting a feel good, you may be disappointed. As this ends I’m not sure how I feel about it but it wasn’t what I thought or expected so I’m not disappointed. It was different and strange but not in a bad way. So many of these stories are similar, this wasn’t- kudos!

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Quercus Books for a copy in exchange for a review.

Deceive Me by Karen Cole is an amazing thriller. The characters are very relatable and Cole does a wonderful job making them authentic. Her writing style is interesting and she is able to dole out enough details to keep you in suspense, but not enough for the story to be predictable. Deceive Me is an excellent book that I highly recommend!

Johanna Appleton & her daughter Grace have not been getting along. Johanna & her husband Chris (Grace's stepfather) do not approve of her boyfriend, Tom, who they consider to be too old for her as she is only sixteen. In an attempt to break them up the family have made a new start in Cyprus-only for Tom to move there too.

One morning she drops off Grace & her brother Jake at school, but when she comes to pick them up only Jack is there. As the hours pass she is convinced Grace has run away.

Johanna has a connection to Cyprus. Seventeen years ago she was nunny to a family there & the father of the child she was caring for is also the father of Grace, She wonders if Grace has gone to find him as she has never hiddens her heritage from her,

At first I found this book rather mundane, similar to many others. However the various paths the author led me along made it a more interesting read than I was expecting. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

I read Karen Cole's previous novel, Deliver Me, and I absolutely loved that books, so when I got accepted for this book, I was so excited to read it.

This one did not disappoint.

It was such a page turner and I read this in two sittings. Only stopping because I had to go to work, otherwise it would have been one sitting.

Jo's daughter goes missing and it is up to Jo to find out what happened to her. There is such a big twist at the end that I did not see coming.

I was almost sad that the book was over.

I love this author's work.

Karen Cole knows how to catch the readers attention and then draws them in deeper and deeper.
A teenage girl goes missing - on the surface this is not an unusual storyline but I can verify this book was anything but boring. The characters are very individual, the family dynamics are intriguing and the final twist will blow you away.
Well written and definitely recommend this to all readers of this genre.

Wow!
I read this in one sitting, after having read the reviewsI
Grace is missing, she went to school one day and never came back. Her mum and stepfather trying in vain to find her.
There are some red herrings that make you think you have it figured out and then BAM 💥- the twist you didn’t see coming! I wouldn’t have seen that coming even if I had a map and compass!
When the end of a book is so amazing you can’t find any faults with it at all! Outstanding!

Excellent read. Hard to put the book down. Right from the start you were sucked in and new this was going to be a good one. The storyline was wicked. Not quite knowing where it was going next. There was lots of twists and turns in the road.

Joanne and Chris along with their two children uproot themselves and move to Cyprus for a fresh start.

Grace, their daughter, fails to show up for school one day despite joanne dropping her off. During the search to find Grace details of how dysfunctional the family is start to be revealed.

I found this to be an easy read but not a page turner. The ending does have a twist albeit not quite believable however I am sure others will enjoy it.

Many thanks to the publishers and netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
