I received an ARC of this book from Barbour Publishing, Inc. via NetGalley, this review is my personal opinion.

All do this is a sample because it only has the Old Testament. This book is no doubt a great tool to study the Bible in order. From the introduction, I knew that it is not only well written and organized. But with many useful information and tips to make our time to study something we can understand. This book has 15 chapters, each one divide in small lessons, a bible reading, questions to think about that help you go a bit deeper in that specific passage and we also find a New Testament connection, I truly like that. Which make it a great resource for individuals and group study. George W Knight gathered in a compact and understandable historical and important information of the Bible.

Truly grateful to Barbour Publishing for the ARC of this book it has open my eyes to new ways of studying the Bible.

The SAMPLE copy of the No-Stress Bible Guide I was given to review was clearly not meant to be an all-inclusive reference. It came across to me like a CliffsNotes version of the Bible. That’s great if you’re studying for a test on the Minor Prophets or you have to write a paper on the salient points of Paul’s missionary journeys.

I’d rather sit down with the whole Word of God and ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of my understanding. I’m glad I don’t have to pass a test or write a essay, but what I’m doing seems much harder. I’m humbling my pride, crushing my selfish will, and learning to love my enemies. For this I want the whole counsel of God.

This is a step back and start at the beginning for anyone who hasn't read or only remembers the bible from childhood and has decided to read it again. It is the basics with pictures and places to write down thoughts. It is George W. Knights review om the bible and what he found important.

He basically dumb down the bible.

The “No-Stress Bible Guide” is intended to the be like taking a step back from the voluminous breadth of Scripture and getting a snapshot of the “big picture.”

This easy-to-understand guide includes summaries of major themes and outlines for easy access in charts. This guide is perfect for a visual learner who like to see things in charts and diagrams. The guide is intended to both make connections in your mind between the various books of the Bible and to stimulate a renewed vigor to reading God’s word.

“Think About It” sections offer questions to ponder regarding Scripture that you may never asked yourself before. These help to get you thinking about things in new ways. Another section I liked was the NoStress Plan for Reading the Entire Bible. This helps the Bible reader come up with a low-pressure plan to suit each person’s own schedule.

The guide includes many helpful maps with references to key places mentioned throughout the Bible to help the reader understand geographically where things are at while you are reading.

The guide also includes “NT Connection” section where it shows how a passage in the Old Testament ties in with the New Testament. These are crucial helps for understanding the many physical representations in the Law in the OT with the spiritual implications in Jesus throughout the NT.

The guide overall has an extensive amount of information and useful helps. At times it can be overwhelming. My encouragement would be to go through and keep what you like and what you find useful and then move on from something that doesn’t seem to really be helpful to you. There is so much here you can pick and choose what you want to learn about and still get a lot out of it all.
